Cable’s strongest moment in Kings of Pain comes when his authority stops being enough. In X-Factor Annual #6, he supports giving Proteus a chance to live, including the possibility of an artificial host, and objects to the lethal resolution...

The name X-Force suggests a clean break, but Kings of Pain gives the new group a less comfortable beginning. A change of name cannot settle how these people should treat an enemy, what they owe someone in danger, or how far their leader’s a...

The Morlock Healer deserves a place beside these roster spotlights, with his role clearly marked as medical support. He is not being added to the fighting lineup. His contribution matters because the defense depends on someone who would oth...

Sunder’s part in the defense begins with children. He is with the Warpies when the Reavers break into their space, and his immediate concern is getting them out. That gives his place in this group a clarity that a roster entry about superhu...
