Letter From Author A Letter from the Author My name is Logan Pendragon, and writing has been one of the central passions of my life. I have been practicing the craft for close to thirty years, and in recent years I have become increasingly focused on building a full-time career as an author. That calling led me to begin publishing my work and continually improving my craft. I currently have a variety of books available through Amazon KDP and my Amazon author pages, including novels, short stories, informational books, poetry, and specialty projects. Despite already having published two novels, this series represents something much larger for me. In many ways, it is part of what I consider my life’s work. I believe in what I call Snapshot Theory. The idea is simple: every creative work released by an artist is a snapshot of their best work at that moment in time. A writer who continues to study, practice, and create will inevitably grow. Every book I have released represents the best work I was capable of when it was written. My goal is simple—each new book should be better than the last. This novel represents my best work to date. I have invested a great deal of time in writing, editing, and refining it, and I’m proud to begin sharing this series with readers. This is one of the initial batch of Supplement Books I am launching alongside, not long after, the release of Book One of the series. I have at least three other initial supplemental books launching in the first wave, maybe more. More will be coming at some point in the future. Books Two through Five are currently being edited, along with several supplemental books connected to the series. After those releases, I plan to write a “Gap Years” sequence of books that bridge the story forward into a final trilogy that will conclude the primary arc of the series. If you enjoy this story, keep an eye out for the next books in the series—there is much more to come. — Logan Pendragon Collective Notes Collective Notes The Sanguine Law was provided to the Collective as a gesture of good faith and a testament to the alliance between Cain’s vampires and the Collective. This codex serves as a vital resource for the Collective to understand the lore, customs, and laws of vampires, ensuring they can navigate interactions with vampirekind effectively. Most of the Sanguine Law was translated into a language comprehensible to the Collective when it was shared. However, certain portions were preserved in the Ancient Language, a primordial tongue predating the Tower of Babel, to protect their sanctity and secrecy. This Ancient Language is a divine creation, inherently known to all vampires through their blood, and understood fully only by Cain, the Archons, and Athanasius. When a new Archon is chosen, they are initiated into the written knowledge of the language as part of their elevation. Athanasius, as the guardian of the first words, has preserved the language in its original form within his sanctuary, ensuring its survival and significance for future generations. These preserved sections remain impenetrable to those outside the circle of Cain’s progeny, maintaining the reverence and mystery surrounding the Sanguine Law. The Code of Sanguine Section I: The Code of Sanguine The Origin of the Sanguine Law I am Cain, first of the cursed, progenitor of our kind. The curse that marked me was both a burden and a revelation. It was never my intent to share this existence, for I swore to bear it alone. Yet fate conspired otherwise when the blood of my daughter, Aurora, was spilled in senseless violence. In my desperation to save her, I defied my own vow and turned her, knowing it would unmake the life she once knew. From that act of sorrow came understanding. To endure, we needed unity, discipline, and purpose. Thus, the Sanguine Law was born, written in her blood—an eternal bond that ties
