Just past two in the morning, Johnny eased his car in the shadow of an elegant mansion - a blend of modern design and classic charm. Its stucco exterior and terracotta roof shimmered under the moon's caress, whispering of understated wealth and exclusivity.
He sighed and got out of the blue Mustang, closing the door harder than he intended. As he approached the front door, loud music drummed in his ear; several people lay sprawled out in the emerald sea of grass in various stages of debauchery. He rolled his eyes and rang the doorbell.
Danny opened the large wooden door, leaned against the frame, and smiled. He was a burly guy with broad shoulders; his hair was blond and buzzed short but sparkled with too much grease. “Sup. Finally came to party?”
“Nah, just coming to see my girl. Doubt I’ll stay long,” he said as he walked past Danny and stood in the hallway, the massive overhead ceiling and crystal chandelier swinging in the breeze from the open door.
“She’s out back with the girls.” Danny pointed to the back
