In a weird way, that ended up fitting him, because even later in X-Men history he never really felt like the biggest long-term threat. Still, this was his first appearance, and for me that made it iconic.
Uncanny X-Men #2 gave the team one of their first really unique enemies with the Vanisher, and that made the issue stand out to me. At first he felt almost overpowered, but once the X-Men understood who they were dealing with, he became muc...
Uncanny X-Men #1 is where I first really started falling in love with the X-Men. The original team dynamic, Xavier vs. Magneto, and Magneto's first appearance all hit immediately. It's not just historically important, it's a genuinely stron...
On top of that, you've got Xavier vs. Magneto starting right here with Magneto's first appearance, and that alone gives this issue a huge amount of weight. It's not just important because it's the beginning.
This is where I first really started falling in love with the X-Men. You get the core team, the classic structure, the early team dynamics, and the first real look at how all of them bounce off each other.
Also launching: Comic Series Spotlight. I'll be breaking down full comic runs and limited series - classics, overlooked gems, and character-shaping stories worth your time. I'll cover what makes each one stand out, who it's for, and if it b...
New series incoming: Comic Issue Close-Up. I'll be spotlighting standout, weird, classic, and hidden-gem single issues, plus the ones that changed a character, story, or era. One issue at a time: why it matters, what works, and why it's wor...
I managed to get through them, and a few of the tougher stretches felt more like gear or refining gates than anything else. The game is slow, massive, and packed with things to do, but worth every second. I absolutely love it so far.
I have been playing Crimson Desert a lot more lately, and I'm loving every second of it. Some of the bosses definitely have a steep learning curve, but so far none of them have kept me busy for very long.
There were definitely some memorable scenes, especially when he confronted his daughter halfway through. Those panels had me on the edge of my seat. I'm looking forward to closing this amazing chapter in comic reading.
It has been very interesting and definitely had some wild moments. The new character Mindy was also kind of cool, and I loved seeing her interactions with Midnighter.
I am almost done, finally, with the entire Wildstorm universe read-through. I'm wrapping up everything up until it coincides with World's End, and right now I'm just finishing Midnighter's solo run.
I don't think I'm even fully halfway through because I've been doing a lot of side content too, but I am really looking forward to seeing how the ending plays out. I definitely wasn't too happy to hear about Howard either.
Business stuff, personal stuff, even random things like helping me go through my digital comics, reorganize everything, and figure out what I'm missing. The sub-agent spawning finally clicked for me too, and I've been using it a lot while I...
I've been playing around with Codex a lot lately, basically using it to replace OpenClaw for my own purposes. I still love OpenClaw too, but I'm finding a lot about Codex that works amazingly well.
I'm so used to Venom being tied to Eddie Brock that I wasn't expecting this direction, but they did a great job weaving the characters together. Overall, it's been an amazing experience. I've loved every second of it.
The game also threw me for a loop when I found out who plays Venom. I'm leaving the name out here to avoid spoilers, but it caught me completely off guard.
