This is a collection of my posts from X, my main social and the first place I post everything. You’ll find video game guides, comics, fiction, my writing and author updates, and other topics I cover.
4,845 posts are available here. Each entry keeps the original wording and links back to X.
I also want room for new-issue reactions, updated rankings, rereads, and follow-ups when a prediction turns out to be completely wrong. After Absolute DC is underway, one of my next major comic projects will be a full breakdown of The Boys.
Batman without the money. A Joker with wealth and institutional power. Superman rebuilt through a different Krypton without losing Superman’s soul. Wonder Woman as a supernatural demigod witch. A far more disturbing Flash. And that is only...
There is no realistic way to fit everything I want to say about Absolute DC into one post. I want to cover the reading order, the larger universe, every major title, character changes, lore, comparisons, predictions, and the parts that caug...
The first large comic project will focus on Absolute DC. I recently caught up on almost the entire line, and I was genuinely stunned by what DC accomplished. I did not expect every title to feel this different while maintaining such a depen...
The expanded direction is simply a more accurate version of what I already spend my time doing. The difference is that I am going to start organizing more of those experiences and thoughts into things I can actually share.
I play long game series from beginning to end, get attached to the characters, and end up with years of thoughts about what worked, what annoyed me, and what I wish the writers had done differently. Technology is both something I enjoy and...
I have been reading comics throughout my life. I can lose an unreasonable amount of time digging through decades of continuity because I do not like feeling like I missed something important in another title.
The author focus does not replace the comics, games, or technology. All of those things are connected to the way I think and the kind of work I create. This is not me throwing unrelated subjects together and hoping something sticks.
That includes writing, editing, publishing new work, marketing and promoting the books I already have, preparing future releases, discussing my creative process, and sharing more of what I am building along the way.
The biggest part of this change is my work as an author. I want to put a much stronger and more deliberate emphasis on my writing career and share more of the work while I am actively producing it.
Substack gives me room to slow down, organize larger thoughts, build reading guides, write deeper character or story breakdowns, and return to a subject later when new material changes my opinion.
X and Substack will serve different purposes. X is better for immediate reactions, shorter thoughts, questions, standalone observations, and conversations that do not need an entire article wrapped around them.
Sometimes something is amazing overall and still has one decision I think was complete dog shit. Both thoughts can exist at the same time. I would rather explain my real reaction than force everything into “this was good” or “this was bad.”
I do not want to force every idea into the same generic review format. Sometimes I want to recommend something. Sometimes I want to explain why it surprised me, compare versions, break down the lore, complain about a writing choice, or expl...
The formats will change with the subject: reactions, recommendations, reading guides, character breakdowns, comparisons, lore discussions, rankings, predictions, writing updates, technology experiments, or longer essays when an idea needs m...
Some thoughts will be short. If I finish a comic issue and one scene is still sitting in my head, that may only need one X post or a Substack Note. If I finish an entire series or build a ridiculous reading order, it may need a thread or fu...
This does not mean I am abandoning the things I already discuss or turning everything into one narrow type of account. It is basically the opposite. I am expanding the range and making the content a more accurate reflection of what I alread...
That content could be about almost anything I am actively interested in: comics, video games, writing, publishing, technology, book marketing, creative projects, or something completely different that I happen to be digging into at the time...
I am already experimenting with technology, building projects, organizing reading orders, researching random subjects, and developing my own creative work. Instead of leaving all those thoughts scattered or private, I am going to start turn...
Basically, I am going to start creating a lot more content around the things I am already doing. The comics are already being read. The games are already being played. The books are already being written, edited, published, and marketed.
