Kurohyō: All 42 Special Techniques, Their Unlocks, and the Six Secret Scrolls
Getting a new fighting style doesn't automatically teach Tatsuya every move attached to it. It gives him the idea for a technique. You still have to visit Tsukahara's dojo in the vacant lot behind Kotobuki Pharmacy, pay for the lesson, and beat the training dummy.
There are 21 punch techniques and 21 kick techniques, including the two starting attacks. The Special Master title does not require the four password-only moves; the full move list below includes them anyway. These are separate from the 59 Heat Actions. Unlocking one doesn't fill the other's checklist.
The English names below describe the Japanese moves. Your translation patch may word some differently. Match the unlock condition if a name doesn't look familiar. Prices are the listed training fees before any cat-rescue discount.

WHERE TO GET THE SIX SCROLLS
Heaven: Saki gives it to you during Chapter 4's main story. Don't confuse receiving the scroll with learning Bunker Knuckle. Take it to the dojo afterward.
Wind: Finish Hyuga's rematch in Chapter 7. Start by speaking to him inside Le Marche on Showa Street East. This is also the route that unlocks Pro Wrestling.
Thunder: Finish the Chapter 9 substory Conclusion, the end of the Shiraishi storyline.
Earth: Finish the 101-cat search, including its final Chapter 10 milestone. You cannot finish the entire cat chain as soon as it starts in Chapter 2.
Gold: Exchange 30,000 casino chips at Ryugujo. That's the scroll's exchange cost, not the dojo fee. You still need the ¥100,000 lesson afterward.
Fire: Buy it from Ebisu Pawn for ¥240,000, then pay the separate ¥100,000 dojo fee. Budget ¥340,000 before any training discount.
For the legendary fighters, use the chapter substory guides in this series. Their conversations, locations, and battle conditions matter. Kinugasa, for example, is in the Nakamichi Alley area by Ebisu Pawn, not West Park.
USING THE MOVES
Most specials are charged attacks: hold Square for the punch or Triangle for the kick, then release. A longer charge gives more power, but it also leaves you waiting to strike. Make space instead of charging right in someone's face.
The scroll techniques use a circular directional input followed by the matching attack button: Square for a punch, Triangle for a kick. Practice the input against the dummy before relying on it in a boss fight.
Work through style unlocks and the legendary-fighter chain as you progress. Save the expensive lessons for after your cat discounts improve if money is tight. And check what you actually learned at the dojo, not just which scrolls you've collected. Owning the prerequisite is only half the job.
