Kurohyō 1: unlocking and beating Gaia Gaia is the final substory opponent. He is level 50, so treat him as a separate preparation project rather than another street encounter on the way to the ending. Unlock checklist Complete the non-hostess substory chains, including all 101 cats, all 36 cards, the legendary interviews and the Kamurocho Ranking milestones. You also need Cabaret Club Tiger, which follows victories in the cabaret battles for all six initially available hostesses. The individual hostess story endings are not all required for Gaia. The Japanese walkthrough records his appearance while hostess stories were still unfinished. Yurika's clear-data requirement therefore does not make a second run a mandatory Gaia-unlock condition. Where to find him 1. Hear the rumor from the men at the Tenkaichi Street entrance. 2. Follow the next question-mark conversation around Theater Avenue, northwest of Millennium Tower. 3. Continue to the men on Shichifuku Street East near the parking-lot side of town. 4. Go to the Champion District, speak to the man at the vacant-lot entrance and then challenge Gaia inside. The second rumor is described differently by older guides, so use the newly active question mark around the Theater Avenue/Shichifuku approach rather than searching inside Millennium Tower. Preparation Make a separate save. Treat health and body-part injuries, buy strong recovery items and finish the training upgrades you can afford. Equip the style and abilities you can execute reliably, not a style you unlocked five minutes ago and have not practiced. Gaia can be fought on the first run, whose level cap is 30, but the level gap makes mistakes costly. A later run raises your development ceiling. That is a preparation option, not an unlock requirement. A battle-long attack booster such as Rekindle Gold can shorten the fight. It does not replace healing supplies. Leave inventory room for medicine that will keep you alive after a heavy grab or Heat Action. The fight Gaia has a large health pool and punishes long, predictable strings. Build your plan around short exchanges you can repeat without being countered: avoid a committed attack, answer with a brief counter or a quick grab, then reset. Don't turn a blocked or evaded opening into a desperate full combo. One practical approach is a backstep attack to make contact, followed by a grab when he guards. If the step attack misses or he avoids it, retreat and start again. Grappling-focused styles and red Heat Actions can provide steady damage without asking you to win a prolonged striking exchange. Stay away from the edges and obstacles when possible. Being trapped against scenery makes it harder to recover your spacing. Heal while you still have room for another mistake, especially when injuries are accumulating. There is no benefit in saving an expensive medicine if the next attack ends the run. A win awards the Champion Belt and 1,000 EXP, along with the cash payout. The two Japanese guides disagree on the cash amount, so don't plan a purchase around an exact figure before the fight. The important result is clearing “That Man, Gaia” and securing the belt. This is a long fight, not a timed damage race. A repeatable safe exchange is more useful than a flashy opening that works only once.
