Kurohyō 1 walkthrough: Chapter 9, The Traitor's Identity
There are two major matches in Chapter 9. The first has a special loss condition, so don't charge in with your usual high-damage Heat routine.
Before advancing: finish “Ukyo Joins DIS!?” if you still have not. Its start is reported unavailable in Chapter 10, and it sits near the beginning of the gang-substory chain. Keep a separate Chapter 9 save.
1. Meet Takenaka inside the Theater Square Club Sega, then go to Choraku.
2. Visit JeweL with at least ¥30,000 and speak to the attendant. After the scene, approach Millennium Tower and defeat the two boxers outside.
3. Go to Dragon Heat and speak to Saki in the locker room.
Boss: Tetsuji Shima, level 25, Boxing.
The head-injury meter at the top of the screen belongs to Shima. If it reaches 100%, you lose. Your job is to win without destroying his head.
Use low attacks and grapples that do not strike the head. Don't assume an animation is safe just because it is a throw or a Heat Action. The Japanese walkthrough identifies these useful routes:
• Street Fighting: grab finishers other than Square; avoid its Heat Actions here.
• Jujutsu: non-rear grab finishers and its blue Heat Action.
• Pro Wrestling: the Triangle grab finisher and its red Heat Action.
• Ancient Martial Arts: rear grab finishers and its red Heat Action.
• Karate: the Circle grab finisher and its red Heat Action.
Use only moves you can identify in your equipped style, and watch the meter after each unfamiliar attack. Shima does not use grabs, so guarding his normal punches is useful. Move away during Heat rather than gambling on a long exchange. Winning pays ¥150,000.
4. Return to the locker room. Saki is absent, so go to Gelateria and speak with her. The conversation choices converge on the same story progression. Return to the locker room and choose to prepare for the match.
Boss: Taizan Amamiya, level 30.
Quick grabs from Ancient Martial Arts or Jujutsu can catch his measured approach. If he avoids the grab, immediately prepare to defend, because the failed attempt leaves you exposed. His longer combo has a committed ending you can counter after avoiding it. Keep distance through Heat and resist the urge to fill every pause with an attack. Victory pays ¥200,000.
Optional completion warning: “Conclusion,” also called “Showdown” in older English guides, includes a group fight with Shiraishi at Shichifuku Parking Lot. Use the running soccer-ball partner Heat Action there. His participation, not simply completing the gang storyline, is what gives you the single-player opportunity to record it.
