Kurohyō 1: Tsukahara's training and the 101 cats If you keep leveling Tatsuya and still feel like your attacks need work, check his training stats separately. Character level, fighting-style proficiency and paid training are different parts of his development. WHERE TO TRAIN After meeting Tsukahara in Chapter 1, find him in the vacant lot behind Kotobuki Pharmacy. He trains five attributes: Punch, Kick, Grab, Stamina and Heat. The training cap starts at 10, rises to 20 in Chapter 4 and 30 in Chapter 7. Clear-data play raises it to 50. Reaching a cap early doesn't mean you've missed an upgrade menu. You need more story progress. Grab is a useful early investment for getting through fights. Heat helps across styles, and Stamina is worth attention too. Still, look at how you actually fight before putting all your money into one attribute. If you're relying on kicks, don't leave that stat untouched just because somebody else prefers throwing enemies. THE CAT SEARCH Tsukahara starts the cat search in Chapter 2. There are 101 altogether. This is worth doing alongside the story because the discounts apply to training: 25 cats: 5% off. 50 cats: 10% off. 75 cats: 15% off. 101 cats: 20% off, plus the Earth Scroll. Ask Tsukahara for the cat maps as the chapters advance. Follow their cat symbols, then listen as you get close. When you hear the doubled meow and see the Circle prompt, press Circle to collect the cat. You don't have to see a clearly outlined animal standing in the street. If the audio is hard to pick out, Don Quijote sells Premium Catnip for ¥2,800. Carrying it makes the meows louder. It isn't required. CHAPTER PROGRESS Chapter 2 covers the opening search and the 10- and 20-cat milestones. After that, the search continues through 30 in Chapter 3, 40 in Chapter 4, 50 in Chapter 5, 60 in Chapter 6, 70 in Chapter 7, 80 in Chapter 8 and 90 in Chapter 9. The 101-cat finish is in Chapter 10. Use the map for your current stage and return to Tsukahara as you finish it. Don't spend an evening circling Kamurocho trying to finish the entire chain in Chapter 2. If you're planning a large round of paid training, do the available cat searches first. The savings make more sense when you get them before buying the expensive upgrades.
