KENZAN! THE FIVE INVENTED WEAPONS: BATS AND FANS Five entries in the 227-weapon register come from Gyotensai's inventions. His house is in northeastern Gion, accessible from 5-1. These weapon recipes become available from 7-4, subject to the previous invention in each chain. Collect the exact ingredients before experimenting: a wrong ingredient selection consumes the materials used in the failed attempt. BAT CHAIN Bat: Oak Sword + Scrap Iron + Aodamo Wood. Its starting stats are 10 Attack, 100 Force and Super speed. Red Bat: invent Bat first, then give Oak Sword + Scrap Iron + Red Oak Wood. Stats: 30 Attack, 120 Force, Fast. Strong Bat: invent Red Bat first, then give Oak Sword + Scrap Iron + Sacred Tree Wood. Stats: 50 Attack, 150 Force, Fast. The earlier bats unlock the next recipe; they are not the ingredient consumed to build it. You need three Oak Swords and three pieces of Scrap Iron to make the whole chain. None of the three bats has blacksmith refinement grades. FAN CHAIN Large Fan: Jitte + Temari Stone + Baleen. Stats: 5 Attack, 30 Force, Super. Its hits blow away ordinary enemies, but not bosses. Electric Fan: invent Large Fan first, then supply that fan + Thunderstone + Red Copper Ore. The recipe table shortens the final material to Red Copper. Stats: 1 Attack, 1 Force, Super. After five hits charge it, the next hit paralyzes a non-boss enemy. These are greatsword-class weapons. Neither has refinement grades. Converting Large Fan into Electric Fan preserves the Large Fan entry already recorded in your collection list. WHERE TO FIND THE INGREDIENTS Oak Sword: weapon shop, 500 Mon from 5-5. Jitte: the same shop, 5,800 Mon from 5-5. Scrap Iron: pickup during 1-7, or exchange 500 Mahjong points per piece. The Mahjong prize route supplies extra pieces when you need all three bats. Aodamo Wood: locker I-4, or repeat Foundational Zeal Melon Cutting training, beginning with the second clear. Red Oak Wood: repeat Developed Zeal Melon Cutting training, beginning with the second clear. Sacred Tree Wood: locker D-4; Arena Intense Freeze; repeat Zeal Special Training [Asura] Melon Cutting, beginning with the second clear. Temari Stone: Rakugai's Arigataya, 500 Mon from 7-3; locker G-1. Baleen: Rakugai's Arigataya, 25 Mon from 7-3. Thunderstone: locker J-1 or Arena Intense Freeze. Red Copper Ore: Gion's Arigataya, 240 Mon from 8-1. Although Electric Fan's recipe appears from 7-4 after Large Fan, this shop material does not become available until 8-1.
