RYU GA GOTOKU KENZAN: ALL 21 INVENTIONS, PART 2
These nine recipes appear from 8-1, but several ingredients arrive much later. Each recipe consumes one of each listed ingredient. Make them through Gyotensai in northeast Gion; obtaining an equivalent item as a reward does not replace inventing its recipe for completion.
The names below follow KHHsubs. Where its recipe table and item list use different translations, both names are given so the correct material is clear.
13. Shigoro Dice
Ingredients: Tengu Stone + Tamahagane.
- Tengu Stone: 400 Mon at Rakugai's weapon shop, locker C-3, or the reward for Request 23's fight route.
- Tamahagane: 1,000 Mon at the weapon shop. Ordinary Tamahagane is the required material.
Buying both costs 1,400 Mon. The item forces a 4-5-6 result in Cee-Lo.
14. Pinzoro Dice
Ingredients: Tengu Stone + Scrap Iron.
- Another Tengu Stone: 400 Mon at the weapon shop.
- Scrap Iron: exchange 500 mahjong chips. The three bats in Part 1 also need one each, so reserve four pieces across the full invention list.
This produces a pinzoro result in Cee-Lo. Do not confuse it with Pinzoro Tag, which affects the two-dice game.
15. Hifumi Tobacco
Ingredients: Glass Kiseru + Lapis Lazuli.
- Glass Kiseru: obtain the best ending of Request 53, Temple School Homework: Essay. This depends on the FIRST answer in Request 13 being middle and the SECOND answer in Request 45 being middle, followed by the correct essay answers. Preserve the kiseru instead of selling it.
- Lapis Lazuli: buy for 5,000 Mon at Ebisuya, open locker C-1, or use Request 38's successful reward.
The tobacco makes the other Cee-Lo players roll hifumi, the losing 1-2-3 result, during that round.
16. Arashi Yokan
Ingredients: Manju + Star Steel.
- Manju: 10 Mon at either Arigataya.
- Star Steel: locker I-3. Additional pieces can come from random encounters or the Master Contest arena tournament, but the locker is the direct route.
The item produces an arashi roll in Cee-Lo. Receiving Arashi Yokan from Tanaka in Request 37 does not itself complete this invention.
17. Shonben Jizo
Ingredients: Traveller's Stone, also called Dosojin Stone, + Empty Stomach Pill.
- Dosojin Stone: Request 98's reward. Another source is a possible prize from the Peerless arena tournament.
- Empty Stomach Pill: invent it with Eel Liver, Crayfish and Tea Dango first, then use its prototype or buy another at a pharmacy for 230 Mon.
This makes the other Cee-Lo players roll their dice out of the bowl for that round.
18. Hanjiro Amulet
Ingredients: Hariti Amulet + Tea Dango.
- Hariti Amulet: a possible Hozoin Training arena prize, with a 30% reward chance. The tournament becomes available from 9-1. Request 76 also has a Hariti reward branch, but its choices affect the unique Thief's Netsuke, so the arena avoids that tradeoff.
- Tea Dango: buy the takeaway item at Nonaka outside Yoshioka Dojo for 15 Mon.
The next Odds and Evens roll is odd (han). Keep the distinction between buying dango for inventory and ordering it as a meal.
19. Chogoro Beads
Ingredients: Ninigi Orb + Futsumitama Orb + Susanoo Orb.
- Ninigi Orb: the successful outcome of Request 96. Alternatively, Adamantine Contest can award it, but it is the rare 3% prize.
- Futsumitama Orb: locker B-2, or a possible Scorching Blaze arena prize.
- Susanoo Orb: Request 77's reward, or 2,500 Mon at Ebisuya from 10-8.
The next Odds and Evens roll is even (cho). The early recipe listing does not remove these late ingredient requirements.
20. Pinzoro Tag
Ingredients: Red Oak Wood + Sacred Tree Wood.
- Red Oak Wood: repeat the Developed Zeal melon-cutting course on River Road after its first clear. Reserve two pieces overall, one for Red Bat and one for this tag.
- Sacred Tree Wood: locker D-4, repeated Asura special-course clears in melon cutting, or a possible Intense Freeze arena prize. You need another piece for Strong Bat.
The next Odds and Evens roll is double one. The tag given by Request 46 is useful, but you still need to invent this recipe.
21. Gambler's Tobacco
Ingredients: Sparkling Cloth, also called Brand-New Cloth, + Sesame.
- Cloth: keep one of the two Brand-New Cloths supplied with Tanaka's Surprise Coin Purse in Request 12. Older English guides call it Fresh Cloth. It is the same recipe ingredient listed as Sparkling Cloth in the facilities table.
- Sesame: 30 Mon at Tenguya or Ecchuya.
The item improves your winning chance in Odds and Evens by 30% for three rounds.
A practical finish order
Make the three medicine inventions early enough for Request 97. Keep both Washi Bundles from Request 47, using #1 for the chili-pepper treatment and #2 for the flying machine. Finish Request 97 before submitting your final invention, following the conservative route discussed in Part 1.
Use lockers for Star Steel, Futsumitama Orb and one Sacred Tree Wood. Use Request 96 for Ninigi Orb and Request 98 for Dosojin Stone rather than grinding rare arena prizes. Buy the late Ebisuya materials when their stock opens, including any extra Grudge Hair. The main exception is Hariti Amulet: Hozoin Training gives a repeatable route that preserves Request 76's unique reward option.
Before the last hand-in, check the invention completion list for all 21 entries. Then collect Cat Shoes from Gyotensai. These are a completion reward, not a 22nd recipe.
