LIKE A DRAGON: ISHIN! (2023): ALL FIVE SPEED CHALLENGES These stages test navigation, chasing, and hiding. Sprint in short bursts and ease off before Ryoma becomes exhausted. An involuntary stop is especially costly when something is pursuing you. SPEED 1: REACH THE IMPERIAL PALACE IN 50 SECONDS From the Rakugai starting point, take the western route past Kurogane Smithing and continue north past Ginryu's dojo. Follow the road to the marked finish at the north of Rakunai. Keep the route clean. You do not need to spend the whole race sprinting, and exhausting Ryoma can undo the time gained. If you miss the limit, fix your turns before trying to sprint more aggressively. SPEED 2: COLLECT TEN EGGS WITHOUT TOUCHING A CHICKEN Eggs appear as ground sparkles and are marked on the minimap. Running over them collects them automatically. A single chicken contact fails the stage. Use a loop rather than doubling back into your pursuers. Head toward Nichibuza first, take the northeast egg, then sweep west toward Ginryu's dojo. Continue south through the western markers before turning east toward Shijo Street and the remaining eggs. Check that each marker disappears before leaving it. If you miss one, circle around to approach it again rather than reversing into the chickens following you. SPEED 3: REACH MUKUROGAI IN TWO MINUTES Escape the Shinsengumi and reach Mukurogai's northern gate. Being seen is not an immediate failure here, and you can struggle free if grabbed. You do need to lose the pursuit before finishing. Head east, then work south along the city's eastern side. Use cover near the destination if soldiers are still chasing you. Avoid arriving at the gate with the whole patrol behind you and only a few seconds left. SPEED 4: REACH TERADAYA IN FIVE MINUTES, UNSEEN This time being spotted fails the attempt. Take the initial right past the singing bar, then two left turns to get around the building and return toward the main street. Move south toward the waterwheel. Hide in the palanquin beside the riverside route. Let the patrol turn toward Teradaya, then follow behind him to the barrel and hide again. Wait until he turns back and passes away from your route before leaving the barrel for the inn. If the timing looks wrong, stay hidden. Five minutes gives you room to wait for a clean opening. SPEED 5: CATCH THE ULTIMATE GENERAL Follow his counterclockwise circuit through Rakugai. Conserve stamina between bursts and cut corners instead of exactly tracing his footsteps. The alley by the chicken-racing entrance gives you a useful shortcut as he rounds the western side. Do not emerge so far ahead that he reverses direction. Close from behind and use the grab button, Circle/B on a controller, when you reach him. Simply running into his back is not the finishing input.
