Like a Dragon: Ishin! Battle Dungeon Guide, Part 4: Sanada Stronghold Sanada Stronghold is the last dungeon area in the 2023 remake. There are twenty missions here. Clear the Mine first, then go back to the receptionist at the Shinsengumi Barracks. Before starting, check your healing supplies, armor, weapons, and trooper abilities. These fights are a good reason to use the crafting and training systems rather than saving every material for some imaginary point when you'll finally need it. All twenty missions Missions 1–16 each pay 3 ryo on completion: 1. Reclaim the Stolen 1000 Ryo Boxes 1. 2. Reclaim the Stolen 1000 Ryo Boxes 2. 3. Reclaim the Stolen 1000 Ryo Boxes 3. 4. Rescue the Kidnapped Official 1. 5. Rescue the Kidnapped Official 2. 6. Rescue the Kidnapped Official 3. 7. Trooper Combat Training 1. 8. Trooper Combat Training 2. 9. Trooper Combat Training 3. 10. Infiltration Investigation 1. 11. Infiltration Investigation 2. 12. Infiltration Investigation 3. 13. Defeat the Sword Squad. 14. Defeat the Spear Squad. 15. Defeat the Gun Squad. 16. Defeat the Strong-arm Monk Squad. The final four have different rewards: 17. Defeat the Triumvirate — 5 ryo. 18. Defeat the Four Heavenly Kings — 5 ryo. 19. Defeat the Five Tiger Generals — 5 ryo. 20. Defeat Sanada Nobuyasu — 20 ryo. Those amounts don't include the value of equipment you collect. Don't sell an unfamiliar weapon before checking whether you need it for another recipe. Getting through the harder fights In the Triumvirate fight, watch the spearman closely and work toward removing him first. For Four Heavenly Kings, Wild Dancer's Essence of Majestic Dispersal can help with the group. Keeping the gunner alive briefly can preserve the enemy count needed for that move, but don't force that tactic if he's causing you trouble. Five Tiger Generals adds a giant. Work on the smaller opponents before committing to him. Once they're gone, Swordsman guarding and short counterattacks are easier to manage. Against Sanada himself, Heat Actions work; don't overextend after them because his quick low sweep can punish you. Don't judge a build from one lucky clear. If you're planning to repeat a mission for materials, you want a setup you can use reliably without emptying your entire inventory every time. Picking a mission to repeat You don't have to use the last mission for every piece of crafting work. Compare the item you need with the mission's Obtainable Materials list, then consider whether you can finish that mission comfortably. A successful run that gives you useful materials, experience, and equipment is worth more than repeatedly failing a harder fight for its larger cash reward. Keep a few runs' results in mind before committing to a long session. Random drops mean one disappointing run doesn't tell you the whole story, but neither does one unusually good one. Use the material reference alongside this mission list. It gives you a way to find the appropriate mission without guessing from the name. The entries above cover all twenty assignments; they aren't a room-by-room map of every corridor.
