Like a Dragon: Ishin! Battle Dungeon Guide, Part 2: All 10 Bandits' Cave Missions Bandits' Cave is the first dungeon area in the 2023 remake. There are ten missions, finishing with a giant who needs a different approach from the ordinary enemies you've been cutting through. The cash amounts below are the listed clear rewards. Materials are separate, and an item being available in a mission does not mean it will drop on every run. 1. Defeat the Sword Squad — 5,000 mon At the three-door split, take the left door to continue. Check the other two for loot first. 2. Reclaim the Stolen Ryo Boxes 1 — 5,000 mon Follow all three branches for their boxes. The left branch leads to the boss and exit. 3. Reclaim the Stolen Ryo Boxes 2 — 1 ryo The switches open doors on other branches. Work back across the junction after operating them; the exit is on the right. 4. Reclaim the Stolen Ryo Boxes 3 — 1 ryo At the first two locked doors, work through the right-hand section first. Expect to backtrack between switches and doors. 5. Rescue the Kidnapped Villagers — 1 ryo First split: left for loot, right to continue. Second split: right for loot, left to continue. The villagers are beyond the boss. 6. Trooper Combat Training 1 — 5,000 mon 7. Trooper Combat Training 2 — 1 ryo These are useful places to try the squad you've been building. Take a moment before entering to check which abilities are on automatic activation and which you'll trigger yourself. You want to know how to use a heal before you need one. 8. Defeat the Spear Squad — 1 ryo 9. Defeat the Gun Squad — 1 ryo For these weapon-focused missions, avoid standing in front of several enemies at once. Move around the group and deal with an isolated enemy rather than trading hits with everyone together. Against ranged enemies, use corners and movement instead of approaching in a straight line while they all fire. 10. Defeat the Leader of the Bandits — no fixed cash clear reward The boss is Akebonomaru. Bring healing and make sure your equipment is in decent shape before starting this one. Watch the floor traps on the approach. In the boss fight, clear the two ordinary enemies first so you can concentrate on the giant. Swordsman is a straightforward option here. Face him and guard, wait for his attack sequence to finish, land a short combo, and get ready to defend again. If he breaks your guard, reset it rather than assuming you're still protected. Don't keep swinging just because the first few hits connected. A healing trooper gives you another way to recover, but keep ordinary healing available too. Backing away is useful when you need space; it doesn't mean you can stop watching the boss. Giants in the remake can attack from a distance as well. Finish the mission to earn Bandit Rustler. Which missions are worth repeating? Start with the material you need, then check that mission's Obtainable Materials screen. Some useful Cave examples are Ronin's Hair Tie in mission 5, Straw Effigy in mission 6, and Water God's Stone in mission 7. Mission 10 can provide Silver Hammers. Those are examples, not the entire loot pool. The smithing guide has the fuller material reference. For now, don't sell everything from these early runs just because it came from the first dungeon area. Some of it is going to be useful when you start working through the equipment trees.
