Like a Dragon: Ishin! (2023): All Heat Actions, Part 2 SWORDSMAN: ENTRIES 25–37 Buy each named Heat Action on the Swordsman wheel and use Heavy Attack when prompted. Training and revelations open the locked nodes; they don't replace the orb purchase. 25. Essence of Finishing Stab Approach a downed enemy. 26. Heavy Sword: Fly Swatter With an odachi drawn, approach an enemy beside a wall. 27. Heavy Sword: Monkeyplay With an odachi drawn, catch an enemy swordsman's attack. 28. Heavy Sword: Windmill With an odachi drawn, get three enemies close together. 29. Essence of Single Cuts Hold Fighting Stance, evade forward toward an enemy, then use the Heat prompt. 30. Essence of the Swirling Cuts Start Single Cuts and take the Heavy Attack follow-up. 31. Essence of the Skewering Cuts Start Single Cuts and rotate the left stick at the follow-up prompt. 32. Essence of Pinning Slash Approach an enemy backed against a wall. 33. Essence of Scintillant Lead Keep some distance from a gunner and act as they aim. Unlocked through Ginryu's training. 34. Ash from Withered Branches Let an enemy attack from behind and use the prompt. Unlocked through Ginryu's final training. 35. Gleaming Scythe Land Fair Weather, then use its Heat prompt. Requires the Flash revelation. 36. Leaping Maelstrom Run toward at least three enemies and activate it while moving. 37. Essence of Mincemeat Break an enemy's guard with Summer Rainfall, then use the prompt while they stagger. Requires the Smash revelation. THE ODACHI REQUIREMENT Fly Swatter, Monkeyplay, and Windmill require Knowledge of the Odachi and an equipped heavy weapon. Switch to Brawler and press Down again to draw it. Carrying one in the equipment menu while fighting with your normal katana won't satisfy the condition. Return to ordinary Swordsman for the other ten entries. Their placement together in the completion list can make this easy to overlook. COUNTERS AND GUARD BREAKS Fair Weather is Guard plus Heavy Attack, timed to the incoming hit. Gleaming Scythe follows a successful use of that move. Summer Rainfall is Circle / B in Swordsman. For Mincemeat, the target needs to be guarding and the attack needs to break that guard. Using it against somebody standing idle doesn't provide the same setup. For Leaping Maelstrom, keep three targets alive and leave a clear approach. Try it at the start of a group fight, before ordinary attacks or cards thin the group out.
