Like a Dragon: Ishin! All four Gion substories

Like a Dragon: Ishin! All four Gion substories Gion has four numbered substories in the 2023 remake: 56 through 59. You'll need to come back after Chapter 3 for most of them, and Another Life matters for more than just the farming side of the game. 56. Finders Weepers Start checking for this in Chapter 4, after meeting Akari at the shrine in northern Rakunai and opening her friendship. Have Another Life unlocked and build Haruka's trust to rank four as well. At Gion's eastern edge, look on the ground near the shrine's torii gate. There's a diary to read and write in. You'll return to it across several visits, so leave the area between entries rather than repeatedly clicking on it and expecting a new conversation. Use these replies: • All love is precious. • Try getting to know him. • Better to be simple and direct. After the three exchanges, come back again for the scene that finishes the substory. The reward is 350 Virtue. If you're searching the right spot and finding nothing, check the Akari conversation and your progress with Haruka before spending more time circling Gion. 57. Soft and Supple Available in Chapter 3. Walk up the northern street in Gion, north of Yamabuki, and speak to the man advertising his establishment. The initial choice doesn't prevent you from finishing the quest. When you're asked to pay 10 ryo, refuse and fight the sumo wrestlers. You don't need to hand over that much money to complete this. Win the fight for 3 ryo and 300 Virtue. Give yourself room to move instead of letting the group keep you pressed against a wall. Step away from their attacks, turn back in for a short combination, then move again if the others are closing around you. 58. The Revolutionary Chef Available in Chapter 4 after unlocking Another Life and cooking at the farmhouse. Find the chef outside Asahi in Gion and bring something you've actually cooked. Give him the dish to finish the initial substory and receive 150 Virtue. Bought food isn't the point of this request; he wants to try Ryoma's cooking. Continue bringing homemade food on later visits to develop the friendship. Finish that relationship for the Revolutionary Croquettes recipe. If you're aiming to cook every dish, this friendship is part of the job, not something you can ignore after the substory checkmark appears. Kitchen upgrades alone won't unlock that final recipe. 59. The Sexy Madam Available in Chapter 4 after Another Life unlocks. Find the woman by the tree north of Kitchen Aoba in Gion. Her first request is a cucumber. Hand one over to finish the substory and receive a Vitality Pill and 150 Virtue. For the full friendship, her requests run in this order: • Cucumber. • Carrot. • Eggplant. • Daikon. • Pumpkin. Return between requests and give her the vegetable she asks for. Grow them at the farmhouse; cucumbers and eggplants can also be bought from the Fushimi greengrocer. Keep one of each aside when you're harvesting so you don't sell the entire batch and have to wait for another crop. Only the cucumber is needed for the initial substory. The later vegetables finish the relationship. That's the distinction to watch with Gion: the chef and the madam both have more to do after their numbered entries are marked complete.
