Like a Dragon: Ishin! (2023): All Eight Books of Revelations Picking up a book doesn't immediately give Ryoma the move. You have to carry the book, perform the right action in a fight until the special prompt appears, trigger the revelation, and then spend an orb on the skill it unlocks. Check the Valuables section of your inventory first. If the book isn't there, doing the move over and over won't finish this. Also buy any prerequisite ability before trying its technique. When the Heat Action prompt appears, use Heavy Attack, Triangle on PlayStation or Y on Xbox, to trigger the inspiration scene. BRAWLER Book of Revelations: Throw Reward: Essence of Reverse Throw. Finish Komaki's training, including his final duel. His dojo is in southeastern Fushimi, east of the Teradaya inn. The introduction is available in Chapter 2; speak with the student outside to get started. With the book, parry enemy attacks in Brawler. Watch for the prompt immediately after the enemy passes you. You're trying to catch that opening, rather than following every parry with a long punching combo. Book of Revelations: Strike Reward: Essence of Grand Bruising. Clear Advanced Room 10 at the Scarecrow Chateau in Rakugai, southwest of the Gambling Den. Three-star four Basic rooms to open the Advanced set. Use Brawler's War Cry Counter: time your guard to parry, then take advantage of the buff around Ryoma. For this revelation, hold Fighting Stance and face an enemy with some distance between you. Watch for the Heavy Attack prompt. Staying right on top of somebody can give you the Reverse Throw opening instead, which is why these two can be frustrating to separate. SWORDSMAN Book of Revelations: Flash Reward: Gleaming Scythe. Complete Ginryu's training at the dojo in northwestern Rakunai. His introduction becomes available in Chapter 3. Defeat the thugs outside, then head inside. His later lessons require increasingly good sword quality, so check the weapon's color rather than assuming a high attack number is enough. Once you have Flash, use Splendid Skill: Fair Weather. Guard and press Heavy Attack as the enemy's strike comes in to knock them away. Keep landing that deflection and watch for the revelation prompt. Book of Revelations: Smash Reward: Essence of Mincemeat. Progress through the Wanted Men missions to the eighth assignment, Touken Clan: Yukimitsu. The Wanted Men storyline starts with the tengu-masked men on Mukurogai's upper level, followed by your introduction to Omatsu. In Swordsman, use Summer Rainfall, the Grab-button attack, against a guarding enemy. Break their guard with it and watch for the opening. Circle/B is the move you want here; simply blocking their attacks isn't the same thing. GUNMAN Book of Revelations: Spree Reward: Essence of Oh-Be-Joyful. Finish William Bradley's training and his associated revenge storyline, then speak to him again. Find his introduction in Rakugai, just east of the Chicken Racing building. The encounter leads you into Unyuan, his underground hideout. Buy Jumping Shots on the Gunman wheel. Run toward an enemy and press Light Attack to perform it. Repeat, but watch for the revelation prompt while running toward your target as well. Don't spend the entire attempt looking for it only in midair. Book of Revelations: Gust Reward: Essence of Old Scratch. Trade five Carved Wooden Bears to the goods-exchange man in William's hideout. For a guaranteed purchase source, the Mukurogai Arena sells the bears for 5,000 Arena Points each, or 25,000 for all five. They can also drop in Battle Dungeons; inspect a mission's rewards before choosing one to farm. Learn Texas Two-Step, dodge FORWARD toward the enemy, and immediately use Light Attack. Ryoma should shoulder-tackle them. The sideways dodge-and-shot version isn't the action this revelation needs. Repeat the tackle until you can trigger the prompt. WILD DANCER Book of Revelations: Frenzy Reward: The Bloody Wheel. This is another reward from completing Ginryu's training. Use Phoenix Frenzy, the Circle/B attack chain. Watch after the second sword strike and before the bullet spray. Stop treating it as a combo you have to mash through as fast as possible, because that is the opening you're looking for. Book of Revelations: Evasion Reward: Dance of Mourning. Clear Hell Room 10 at the Scarecrow Chateau. To reach Hell, first unlock Advanced, then earn three stars in six Advanced rooms. Fight an enemy wielding a katana and dodge their attacks in Wild Dancer. Don't practice against a gunner or spear user for this one. Keep watching for the prompt after an evade. IF IT ISN'T TRIGGERING Check the book, style, prerequisite skill, and the exact action in that order. Build some Heat, leave yourself enough room, and use an enemy you can keep alive while practicing. These can take repeated successful attempts, so one or two tries don't mean it's broken. Triggering all eight revelations earns Revelation Reveler. Collecting the books alone doesn't count. To actually use the new moves, open the ability wheel afterward and purchase their revealed nodes.
