Like a Dragon: Ishin! Guide: Finishing All 24 Shop Friendships A nearly full friendship bar can be misleading. Some people still need a conversation, a return visit or a fight before their entry is actually finished. Check Diligence Records, then Friendships (Shops), instead of judging it by the bar alone. These are the 24 shop friendships in the 2023 remake. The other 23 bonds are listed separately under Friendships. When somebody asks you to come back, leave and reload the area before returning. Entering and leaving Teradaya is a useful reset. Buying ten things in one transaction also isn't always the same as making ten visits, so watch whether the bar moves. FUSHIMI • Utamaruya Owner: At the singing bar on North Fushimi Ichibangai. Sing, end the session and speak to him again rather than continually extending the same session. Keep returning through the trouble with his customers. When the bar shuts down, leave and come back, then beat the men involved. • Umai Udon Owner: At Umai Udon on Fushimi Ichibangai. Buy meals and work the udon-serving minigame once it opens. Keep going until the job-offer conversation finishes the bond. The minigame's sales targets are separate requirements. • Fukufuku Pub Owner: Buy drinks at Fukufuku on Fushimi Ichibangai. When his usual sake becomes unavailable, leave and return. Tell him “No, it's fine,” then “Water would taste better” during the tasting conversation. • Ichikura Owner: Buy individual items at Ichikura General Goods on Fushimi Ichibangai. Cheap purchases work. Eventually a shoplifter runs off; catch him to finish. • Greengrocer: Buy vegetables from the Fushimi Ichibangai stall. When he requests help, bring him 10 carrots. RAKUNAI • Maijo-sensei: At Nichibuza on Kawaramachi, after Substory 1. Take dance lessons until she arranges the competition. Complete Fubuki Kouta on Geisha difficulty for the final event. • Shinto Priest: At the shrine on Karasuma Street. Purchase the Virtue Exchange upgrade at a shrine, then trade with him. Finish by chasing the thief and checking the hiding places if you lose sight of him. • Akari: At the same shrine from Chapter 4. Talk, leave and return for more conversations. Bring medicine when she gets sick, then return for the remaining scene. Her question about Haruka doesn't require a particular answer. • Hanamaru Udon Employee: Eat at Hanamaru Udon on East Shijo Street. Continue until he creates his special Beef Udon. Remember to order that new dish too if you're completing the restaurant menu. • Shogi Parlor Owner: Play at the parlor on Shinmeicho. Keep speaking to the owner between games. His final opponent doesn't have to be beaten to finish the friendship; the separate shogi win requirement still does. • Sushi Zanmai Chef: Eat at Sushi Zanmai on Kawaramachi. After the special-tuna invitation, leave and return for that meal. • Ecchudo Apothecary: Visit Ecchudo on Kawaramachi and test his medicine. Return between experiments, and don't arrive at full health when he needs an injured test subject. One experiment leaves you in terrible shape, so heal before wandering into street fights. Finishing unlocks Longevity Pills for 8,000 mon each, restoring health and Heat. • Don Quijote Employee: Shop at Don Quijote on Shijo Street. Follow the customer's request outside, check the rice bales by the shop's southern wall, then report back. • Ebisu Pawnbroker: Use the Rakunai branch on East Shijo Street. Buy or sell until he needs a customer. Find the antique seller near Fermented Goods on Shinmeicho, send him over, then return to the pawnbroker. • Momokawa Brothers: Eat at Shippoku Momokawa on East Shijo Street. Continue through their cooking competition and judge the dishes. Either choice finishes their event. RAKUGAI • Cho-Han Dealer: At the Gambling Den on Sannocho. Play, then approach the exit to start the bond. Keep ending your session after a round and talking again. Save before the final 10-ryo wager and aim to win it. • Chicken Race Receptionist: At the racing den on Umekojicho. Watch races and leave between visits; placing a bet isn't necessary for the friendship itself. Return through his losing and winning streaks, then choose either bird when he asks for advice. • Uji Tea Parlor Girl: Buy food or drinks at Uji Tea Parlor on West Umekojicho. After she discusses her boyfriend, leave and return. Defeat him when he causes trouble. • Rakugai Arms Dealer: Southeast of Uji Tea Parlor. Make separate purchases; cheap Bundle Blades work. Answer his questions however you like. Finishing earns a Dragon Fang and adds Worn Swords to his stock. MUKUROGAI • Mahjong House Residents: At Mahjong Spot on the southwestern ground floor. You need 25,000 sticks to enter a game. Start a game, quit if necessary, then walk toward the building's exit for the conversation. Repeat. When those conversations stop, leave the area and return for the Advanced Table invitation. Starting that game counts even if you quit. Actual mahjong completion goals are another matter. GION • Anna: At Yamabuki. Spend time with her playing the courtesan minigames until the bond fills. Don't confuse this with clearing every required difficulty. • Kasuga Okami: Eat and drink at Kasuga until the troublesome customer appears. Deal with him to finish. • Kitchen Aoba Chef: Eat at Kitchen Aoba in southern Gion. Accept his special dish, choose whichever response you want, then return and eat again. AROUND KYO • Palanquin Bearer: Use the city's palanquins repeatedly. Defeat the bandits when the event triggers. This adds the Sannocho stop in Rakugai, handy for reaching the Gambling Den. Before moving on, check for all 24 completed entries. A friendship can be finished while the associated restaurant menu or minigame still has work left, so check those records separately.
