Like a Dragon: Ishin! Scarecrow Chateau Guide: All 40 Rooms Scarecrow Chateau looks like a little training diversion until you start chasing three stars in every room. Then you find out pretty quickly whether your sword, gun and Brawler upgrades are doing enough damage. This is for the 2023 remake. Some timers and reward names differ from the original Ishin, so don't mix the two lists. WHERE TO FIND IT Go to Sannocho in Rakugai, just northeast of the bridge into Mukurogai. Look for the unusual mechanical building and Professor Juubei. If his introduction isn't appearing, speak to the Sword Nut nearby and start his substory, then approach the building again. HOW THE ROOMS WORK Destroy targets before time runs out. Some rooms choose your fighting style for you. “Free” means you can switch styles. Your score determines the rating, and the target score listed below is the three-star goal. Basic rooms are available first. Three-star four Basic rooms to open Advanced, then six Advanced rooms to open Hell. For Extreme, finish the earlier sets. If it remains locked, check that every room in Basic, Advanced and Hell has three stars rather than assuming that reaching Hell Room 10 was enough. For full completion, you want all 40 rooms at three stars. Opening the next difficulty isn't the same as finishing the previous one. GETTING BETTER RESULTS A room's layout repeats. Your first attempt can be about learning where the targets appear. If a gold target pops up behind you, remember it for the next attempt instead of repeatedly losing time looking for it. Bring a fast-firing gun for rooms that allow it. A slow gun with a larger damage number isn't automatically quicker at clearing several weak targets. Sturm und Drang, Vortex and other rapid-fire options are worth testing against whatever you're currently using. Wild Dancer works well when you can hit several targets in one sequence. Don't keep swinging into empty space after a group disappears. Reposition for the next group, and use the gun for distant targets instead of running across the entire room. Rooms that give you plenty of starting Heat are asking you to use it. The right-trigger special moves can keep dealing damage while the challenge timer is paused during their sequences. Check the style's controls and upgrades before going in. On PlayStation, that's R2; on Xbox, RT. Brawler rooms deserve their own attention. A better sword won't fix your punches. Improve Brawler, learn its movement and recovery skills, and avoid letting red shooters repeatedly knock you down. Komaki's Cat-Like Reflexes can help you get moving again. If you know the route but still can't destroy targets fast enough, leave and improve your equipment or abilities. There is no reason to spend an entire evening trying to overcome a damage problem with the same weak weapon. ALL BASIC ROOMS Each entry gives the room, required style, time limit and three-star score. 1: Free, 30 seconds, 400. 2: Brawler, 20 seconds, 1,200. 3: Brawler, 30 seconds, 1,700. 4: Swordsman, 30 seconds, 700. 5: Swordsman, 30 seconds, 1,200. 6: Gunman, 40 seconds, 1,800. 7: Gunman, 45 seconds, 900. 8: Wild Dancer, 30 seconds, 3,100. 9: Wild Dancer, 30 seconds, 3,400. 10: Free, 60 seconds, 5,200. These are the place to get comfortable with each style and the room layouts. Don't stop after the first four simply because Advanced has unlocked. ALL ADVANCED ROOMS 1: Brawler, 60 seconds, 4,000. 2: Brawler, 80 seconds, 4,200. 3: Swordsman, 20 seconds, 4,900. 4: Swordsman, 40 seconds, 3,400. 5: Gunman, 20 seconds, 2,200. 6: Gunman, 45 seconds, 2,700. 7: Wild Dancer, 40 seconds, 4,900. 8: Wild Dancer, 45 seconds, 5,000. 9: Free, 90 seconds, 4,700. 10: Free, 30 seconds, 4,600. Room 3 is built around chaining Swordsman's Dragonfang Flash. Room 5 gives you Heat for Gunman's Dragonfire Blaze. Room 8 is much easier once you're evading out of a finished combo instead of standing still through its recovery. Shoot its distant gold target rather than chasing it. Room 9 sends you through the course and back again. Keep checking both directions for new targets. Room 10 rewards the Book of Revelations: Strike. Gunman's upgraded finishing-shot sequence is useful here. ALL HELL ROOMS 1: Brawler, 60 seconds, 4,800. 2: Brawler, 60 seconds, 4,500. 3: Swordsman, 40 seconds, 8,100. 4: Swordsman, 45 seconds, 4,200. 5: Gunman, 60 seconds, 8,400. 6: Gunman, 60 seconds, 5,700. 7: Wild Dancer, 60 seconds, 13,000. 8: Wild Dancer, 60 seconds, 9,600. 9: Free, 60 seconds, 6,700. 10: Free, 70 seconds, 5,800. Room 10 rewards the Book of Revelations: Evasion. That and the Strike book are worth collecting even if you aren't doing the entire completion list. Getting the books is only part of learning their abilities; you still need their Revelation conditions. ALL EXTREME ROOMS 1: Brawler, 45 seconds, 3,600. 2: Swordsman, 90 seconds, 9,000. 3: Wild Dancer, 110 seconds, 14,000. 4: Gunman, 60 seconds, 9,900. 5: Free, 90 seconds, 5,700. 6: Free, 120 seconds, 10,200. 7: Free, 120 seconds, 10,900. 8: Free, 120 seconds, 10,600. 9: Free, 120 seconds, 16,000. 10: Free, 120 seconds, 17,200. The first four still restrict your style. The remaining six let you change it, so take advantage of that when one weapon isn't doing the job. Room 10's first-clear reward is the Rogue's Mask. REWARDS AND FINISHING UP The listed first-clear prizes aren't repeatable material farms. Repeating a cleared room gives a Scarecrow Carving instead. Don't plan a crafting grind around repeatedly collecting the same rare reward here. Check the stars beside every room before you leave. A run that earned a reward or opened another set doesn't mean every earlier room is finished. If you need to see a particular room's route, this PS5 walkthrough has chapters for all 40 challenges, rather than just the two Revelation books: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NUl8lfGo54 Basic begins at 1:23, Advanced at 8:01, Hell at 18:50 and Extreme at 31:43. Use the video's chapters for the individual room you're stuck on.
