Like a Dragon: Ishin! Trade Orders Guide: What to Keep for Haruka
Before you sell off all the vegetables, fish and random junk in your inventory, check Haruka's trade orders. Some of that stuff has a use here, including the pill bugs you've probably been wondering about.
This covers Another Life in the 2023 remake. The quantities below are the requested amounts, not a bulk shopping total for every recipe.
STARTING AND DELIVERING ORDERS
Another Life opens during Chapter 4. Once you can go inside the house, examine the trade ledger opposite the kitchen. You can return to the property using the boatman in South Yashikimachi, Fushimi.
Open an order, select the requested products, confirm the quantities and finish the selection. Prepare any other orders you can fill, then choose Deliver. Haruka takes the batch and returns with the payment. A gift-box symbol beside the reward means there's an extra item too.
Don't stop after selecting the products. They need to be delivered before you receive the money.
There are four separate categories: produce, fish, cooked dishes and sundries. You don't see every request immediately. Completing the visible orders brings up later ones, and the lists eventually cycle around again. Finishing one category doesn't require clearing the others first.
PRODUCE REQUESTS
Several crops have more than one requested quantity. The numbers separated by slashes below are different orders, not a choice of how many to send for the same order.
Daikon, Carrot, Cucumber, Potato, Spinach: 5/10 each.
Green Onion: 10.
Sweet Potato, Onion, Turnip, Burdock Root, Pumpkin, Hot Pepper, Garlic: 5 each.
Eggplant: 15.
Broad Bean, Ginger: 10 each.
Tomato, Cabbage, Strawberry, Taro: 4 each.
Ginseng: 1.
Any produce: 5/10.
Melon-family request: Cucumber and Pumpkin.
Three-potato request: Potato, Sweet Potato and Taro.
The mixed-family requests need the different requested crops. Don't send three ordinary potatoes for the three-potato order.
FISH REQUESTS
Crucian Carp and Carp: 2/4/10.
Whitebait: 3/5/10.
Goby: 2/10.
Crawfish, Thread-Sail Filefish, Blowfish, Sweetfish, Squid, Tiger Prawn, Spider Crab: 2.
Nishikigoi: 1/2/3.
Conger Eel, Freshwater Eel, Common Octopus, Scorpionfish, Righteye Flounder, Japanese Puffer, Great White Shark, Rainbow Trout, Salmon, Sea Bream, Marlin, Stringfish, Bluefin Tuna, Ghost Koi, Oarfish: 1.
Any fish: 2/3/4/5/6/8/10; the ten-fish request repeats.
Use common fish for unrestricted requests. Giving away an Oarfish just because the order accepts it means catching another when its own order appears.
COOKED-DISH REQUESTS
Katemeshi: 1/2/3/4.
Homemade Pickles: 1/2/4.
Hearty Miso Soup, Invigorating Miso Soup, Healthy Omusubi: 1/2.
One each: Spicy Miso Seafood Hot Pot, Power Stew, True Grit Chirashi Sushi, Refreshing Kakiage, Tekka Stew, Refreshing Vegetable Salad, Thoroughly Grilled Fish, Fisherman's Teppoyaki, Spirit Stew, Blissful Udon, Shrewd Castella.
Any dishes: 3/4/5/6/10, with repeated three- and five-dish requests.
Cook easy meals for the unrestricted orders and save the more involved ones for named requests. Katemeshi and Homemade Pickles are useful because they don't send you through a long ingredient hunt every time.
SUNDRY REQUESTS
Passion Pill: 1/5.
Vitality Pill: 1/3.
Deluxe Passion Pill, Special Passion Pill, Deluxe Vitality Pill, Special Vitality Pill: 1 each.
Scrap Paper: 10/50.
Pill Bug: 10.
Worm: 2.
Scarecrow Carving: 1, requested twice.
Iron Plate: 1/5/6.
Bronze Plate: 1/2.
Silver Plate, Gold Plate, Platinum Plate: 1 each.
Ammunition and healing-medicine orders: groups of five. Check whether the particular request specifies different types before selecting items.
WHERE TO GET THE ODD ITEMS
Pill bugs can turn up in the lidded pots around town. Check pots while you're passing through Mukurogai, Sannocho and Umekojicho. They're random finds, so don't expect one particular pot to contain a bug every visit.
Keep Scrap Paper and Worms when you're collecting miscellaneous loot instead of automatically selling everything that looks useless.
Scarecrow Carvings come from repeating rooms you've already cleared at Scarecrow Chateau. They're useful here even though they don't replace the rare first-clear prizes from those challenges.
Buy medicine at a pharmacy if that is more convenient than waiting for drops. For a request that accepts several different medicines, compare the purchase cost with the reward before buying an expensive assortment solely to finish it.
KEEPING THE BUSINESS MOVING
Grow a mixture of crops and keep some of each in reserve. If you plant the entire field with one expensive crop, you can still get stuck behind an order for something ordinary you sold earlier.
The crop list eventually reaches Ginseng and starts over. It is a repeatable source of income, not a one-time set of errands. You can keep working the crop orders even when a rare fish or miscellaneous item is holding up another category.
The 200-order Diligence target counts fulfilled orders, not 200 unique customers. Keep delivering after the lists start repeating. Paying Haruka's debt, earning money through trade and completing the Diligence Record are related goals, but finishing one doesn't automatically finish all three.
For exact payment and bonus items, read the current order before you deliver. The payout changes as the lists repeat, so the number on your screen matters more than the starting payout from an early-game example.
