Like a Dragon: Ishin! (2023): every cooking recipe and where to get the ingredients Use the kitchen inside the Another Life house once it's available in Chapter 4. The dishes can heal you, fill Trade Orders and help with friendships. Some of the later recipes use finished meals as ingredients, so don't sell or eat everything as soon as you've cooked it. Buy the kitchen upgrades at a shrine: Typical Kitchen costs 300 Virtue, Home Cook's Kitchen costs 500, and True Chef's Kitchen costs 2,000. These unlock more recipes. The Cooking Success Rate upgrades are separate purchases that make better results easier; buying one doesn't replace a kitchen upgrade. There are 22 recipes. Revolutionary Croquettes come from a friendship rather than simply buying the next kitchen. Starting recipes • Homemade Pickles: 2 cucumbers. • Katemeshi: 2 daikon. • Umeboshi: 5 Out-of-Season Plums. The chef's recipe Revolutionary Croquettes need 2 udon flour, 1 egg, 3 potatoes, 1 carrot and 1 cucumber. To learn them, find the Scent-Enticed Man in the northern alley of Gion. Bring food you cooked yourself, then keep supplying him until his friendship fills. Simple Homemade Pickles work; you don't have to give him expensive meals. When he leaves, leave the area too and come back to finish the conversation and receive the recipe. Where the ingredients come from All the vegetables and fruit listed in these recipes can be grown at your farm after buying their Green Thumb unlocks. The Fushimi Greengrocer also sells cucumbers, potatoes, onions, eggplants, green onions, ginger, hot peppers and strawberries. The stand is on the southeastern side of Fushimi. For the ingredients you don't plant: • Eggs: collect them from the farm's chicken coop, or buy them at Ichikura General Goods in central Fushimi or Tasshado Pharmacy on its eastern side. Buying eggs is considerably quicker when you need 15 for Castella. • Udon flour: Ichikura General Goods, the Flour Miller in central Fushimi, or Tasshado Pharmacy. • Ginkgo: General Goods on the western side of Fushimi, south of Ebisu Pawn Fushimi. Ginkgo can also appear as ground pickups in Gion and Mibu. • Honey and Out-of-Season Plums: Don Quijote in Rakunai. Buy the plums as ingredients; buying a finished Umeboshi doesn't count as cooking the recipe yourself. For the fish, these are the places to start: • Uji River, Fushimi: rainbow trout, salmon, crawfish and softshell turtle. • Kamo River, Mukurogai: freshwater eel, sweetfish and stringfish. Salmon and crawfish also appear here. • Fishing Banks: thread-sail filefish, tiger prawn, common octopus, scorpionfish, sea bream and squid. • East Coast: righteye flounder and conger eel. Thread-sail filefish can also be caught here. The two sea areas are reached through the fisherman at the dock south of Teradaya. For stringfish, look far out in the Kamo River. For octopus, cast beside the central rock at the Fishing Banks. Use bait when the fish you're after isn't showing up. Getting the cooking right Chopping follows button prompts. Heating asks you to mash the indicated button. Seasoning uses a filling gauge that keeps moving briefly after you release, so let go before the target rather than waiting until you've already reached it. For grilling, watch for the strong burst of sparks beneath the fish and flip then; the first faint sparks are too early. You can fail and lose the ingredients, make the normal dish, or make a Premium version. Practice with cheaper meals before using a stringfish or a pile of eggs. When working through the list, make the component dishes before their boxes and stews. Keep two Omusubi and two Invigorating Miso Soups for Hanamaru Box, for example. Those are consumed by the box recipe. Make extras if you want one of each finished dish left in your inventory afterward.
