The Kaito Files: all cats, scents and Matsugane crests There are 20 cats and 20 scent pickups, for 40 discoveries in total. Twenty of their rewards are Matsugane Family Crests, split evenly between cats and scents. The 11 memories are separate and unlock their own set of combat skills. Use Ear for cats and Nose for scents, even when you can already see the target. Move closer if the interaction does not appear. Buy the + and EX upgrades for both senses to make the search easier. Genda Law Office access is story-gated; do its refrigerator pickup once you can enter. The location IDs below belong to this guide. They are not in-game numbering. Tick a location after the interaction awards its item, not merely after you hear a cat. Ten crest cats Each of these gives one Matsugane Family Crest. Reward: Dragon's Binding The C13 reward makes Extra Firepower: Do or Die available to buy. C11's Bloody Crest attracts the strong roaming enemies needed for the optional challenge when equipped. Finding all twenty cats unlocks Iron Liver for purchase. Ten crest scents Each of these gives one Matsugane Family Crest. Collecting ten crests makes Gifted Brawler Lv. 2 available; collecting all twenty opens Lv. 3. You still need to buy the preceding level and pay the SP cost. Reward: Stiff Boxers Collection route Start around the agency and Tenkaichi gate, then cover New Serena/Tenkaichi Alley. Continue through Nakamichi and Pink Street, sweep Senryo and the Champion District, then finish the eastern and northern streets before moving through Theater Square. Enter Genda Law Office separately for S20. Use the location IDs as your own checklist. The skills menu gives useful overall gates, particularly Iron Liver and Gifted Brawler, but an unbought skill is not proof that a collectible is still missing.
