Judgment: Every Batting Course, Darts Award and Shogi Puzzle Here are the pitch patterns for all 18 batting courses, the six darts awards, and the solutions to all ten shogi puzzles. Buy the batting equipment and better darts before attempting the harder requirements. Yoshida Batting Center You need all 16 regular courses, then Yoshida's two extra courses. That's four Home Run courses, twelve Challenge courses, Home Run Hell and the Chaotic Challenge. Buy the equipment from Shuichi Hatano in the passage beside the cages. Check him after your early attempts for the ¥3,000 Batting Gloves, then return after more play for the ¥30,000 Golden Bat. Leave and come back if his next conversation hasn't appeared. The larger hitting window is worth getting before the difficult courses. Move your cursor to where the pitch will END, then time the swing as the shrinking ring reaches the ball. A breaking pitch starts somewhere else. Aim for the final position rather than following the ball from its release. The lists below use this layout, read left to right: Top row: 1, 2, 3. Middle row: 4, 5, 6. Bottom row: 7, 8, 9. That means 1 is top-left and 9 is bottom-right. If you compare this with a keyboard-number-pad chart, its top and bottom rows will be reversed. That is a numbering difference, not automatically a different version of the game. Home Run courses Each sequence gives the landing square of the ten pitches, in order. - King of Kamurocho: 5, 5, 1, 9, 7, 6, 2, 8, 1, 9. - Titan of Tokyo: 4, 9, 1, 6, 1, 7, 3, 9, 8, 9. - Ace of Japan: 2, 6, 6, 1, 9, 4, 8, 3, 6, 7. - Global Goliath: 5, 8, 7, 9, 1, 9, 7, 6, 7, 9. - Home Run Hell: 9, 2, 7, 8, 7, 9, 7, 8, 3, 6. Challenge courses King of Kamurocho: - Level 1, four runs: 9, 1, 6, 4, 8, 2, 7, 3, 1, 9. - Level 2, four runs: 9, 1, 6, 4, 9, 7, 6, 5, 9, 1. - Level 3, five runs: 4, 9, 2, 7, 3, 8, 9, 1, 6, 7. Titan of Tokyo: - Level 1, five runs: 9, 4, 7, 6, 2, 9, 7, 9, 1, 4. - Level 2, five runs: 4, 6, 2, 8, 5, 9, 7, 3, 4, 9. - Level 3, six runs: 6, 7, 9, 2, 9, 7, 4, 6, 4, 6. Ace of Japan: - Level 1, six runs: 9, 4, 8, 2, 6, 7, 3, 1, 6, 9. - Level 2, six runs: 9, 2, 7, 1, 8, 6, 7, 4, 3, 9. - Level 3, seven runs: 9, 2, 7, 8, 6, 4, 9, 3, 4, 7. Global Goliath: - Level 1, seven runs: 7, 6, 8, 9, 3, 7, 8, 1, 3, 6. - Level 2, seven runs: 9, 8, 6, 7, 1, 7, 3, 8, 9, 7. - Level 3, eight runs: 8, 2, 6, 7, 9, 8, 4, 3, 7, 9. Chaotic Challenge, eight runs: 2, 7, 9, 1, 9, 3, 9, 6, 7, 9. Use the visible pitch marker as the final check, especially on the Global Goliath courses. The sequence gets your cursor into position; the moving marker still tells you what this particular pitch is doing. For Titan Level 1, the ninth pitch is high-left in this layout, not the high-middle square found in some old lists. Fastballs arrive quickly. Change-ups and big breaking balls need more patience. If the cursor is correct but the hit keeps failing, change the timing, not the square. You only need the displayed passing requirement, not a perfect ten. In Challenge mode, a less-than-perfect hit can still put runners on base, so don't abandon an attempt after one missed homer. Once all regular courses are clear, speak to Yoshida for the extras. Home Run Hell gives Free Pass Voucher 1 for Paradise VR. The Chaotic Challenge gives the book that unlocks EX Bat Appropriation. Completing both also finishes his friendship. Darts Play at Bantam or upstairs in Club SEGA, Theater Square. Complete a game of Count-Up, 01 and Cricket, then earn the six awards below. Equipment goes from Beginner to Standard, Premier and Miracle. Standard Darts cost ¥3,000 at Ebisu Pawn. Quickstarter's Premier Darts project has a ¥100,000 funding goal, followed by Miracle Darts at ¥200,000. Those are the complete project goals; other backers can cover part of them. Collect the completed project rewards at the agency. Miracle Darts make precise throws much more forgiving. Position the aim first and release with the timing indicator instead of trying to correct everything at once. All six awards use a single three-dart turn: - Low Ton: use triple 20, triple 20 and single 20 for 140. - High Ton: use triple 20, triple 20 and triple 19 for 177. - Hat Trick: land three bullseyes. Count-Up is a straightforward place to do this. - Three in a Bed: land three triple 19s. Don't use triple 20, because that earns the separate Ton 80 award. - Ton 80: land three triple 20s for 180. - White Horse: in Cricket, hit triple 20, triple 19 and triple 18 in the same turn. Do it early, while those targets are still available to close. Count-Up is simply a score race. In 01, reduce your starting total to exactly zero without going below it. Cricket uses 15 through 20 and the bull: three marks close a number, and further hits score while the opponent hasn't closed it. Using the examples above avoids the overlapping awards that can make an apparently correct score fail to register as the category you wanted. Ordinary shogi The outdoor players move with the time of day. Check the map around Little Asia, the Cafe Alps back alley and the batting-center rooftop. Shogi also becomes available in the sewer area after the board project. The completion requirements are ten wins, including two while moving first, two while moving second, and five without takebacks. You also need a win in Challenge mode. These overlap, so a clean win while moving second can advance several counters at once. Onodera sells The Basics of Shogi for just 30 SP. It is reusable. During a match, activate its assistance command and follow the highlighted piece and destination. The AI can take a while to calculate; wait for the actual recommendation rather than making an extra move because nothing happened immediately. Do not use Take Back or Super Take Back during the five no-takeback wins. Start with the easier ranked opponents, finish the required starting positions, then clear the first Challenge match. If you're playing manually, remember that captured pieces can be dropped back onto the board on your side. Protect your king from those drops as well as from pieces already in front of it. Unlocking Puzzle Shogi In Chapter 6, unlock Quickstarter, complete Moroboshi's friendship, and fund the Artisinal Shogi Set. The funding goal is ¥100,000. Pick up the reward from the agency, bring it to the men in Children's Park, and follow the resulting setup in the sewers. The ten puzzle boards are a separate task from ordinary ranked matches. Their move limit includes the opponent's reply. A three-move puzzle therefore normally needs two moves from you, with the computer's response between them. Directions below are relative to the board as displayed, with the opponent at the top. Use piece details if you aren't sure which piece is selected. 1. Rook: one square right. 2. Bishop: one square diagonally up-left; promote. 3. Rook: two squares up; promote. 4. Gold General: one square diagonally up-right. 5. Promoted Bishop in the upper-right: one square left. 6. Drop a captured Silver directly below the enemy King. After the Knight takes it, drop the other Silver onto the Knight's vacated square. 7. Rook: two squares right; promote if offered. After the King captures it, move the Bishop diagonally up-right one square and promote. 8. Bishop: diagonally up-left one square. After the response, move that Bishop diagonally up-right one square. 9. Drop your captured Rook directly above the enemy King. After it is taken, move the promoted Bishop one square right. 10. Rook: two squares right; promote if offered. After the King captures it, drop your captured Gold one square diagonally down-left of the King's new position. If you make a wrong move, restart that puzzle from its original position before following the sequence again. The directions assume the original board, not a position you've already changed. Check both the Shop and City lists when you're done. Puzzle Shogi is listed separately from the regular shogi wins.
