Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii: platinum and achievement checklist All right, I want to put the trophy requirements in one place, because we've covered a lot more than you actually need for the platinum. Having a guide for every arcade game doesn't mean you have to finish every arcade game to get it. This is a one-playthrough platinum. You can use Beginner difficulty, there are no missable trophies, and Premium Adventure lets you finish the remaining side activities after the story. There's no requirement to do New Game Plus or clear everything on a harder difficulty. PlayStation has 62 trophies including the platinum. How I'd work through it First, play the story and start using the different combat tools as they unlock. Don't save every weapon counter for the end. Take part in the side activities as you come across them, especially anything that gives you crew members, treasure or reputation. Then finish the Devil Flags and the ordinary Coliseum matches. Those systems feed into each other, and they're the route to the Amon Pirates. After that, check the smaller counters individually. Owning an item, equipping it, using it and completing the related activity are different requirements. Here's the full checklist, grouped so you can actually use it. Story • Shipwrecked: finish Chapter 1. • Heart of Darkness: finish Chapter 2. • The Old Man and the Sea: finish Chapter 3. • Treasure Island: finish Chapter 4. • Ya Gotta Keep Livin': finish the final chapter. Abilities and combat • Buy 10, 20, 40 and 60 abilities for the four Mad Dog trophies. • Boomerang Lover: use the cutlass boomerang against enemies 100 times. • Chain Hook Expert: use the combat hook against enemies 50 times. • Pistol Aficionado: use the pistol against enemies 50 times. • Majima Everywhere: create 56 doppelgangers altogether. • The Man Who Summoned the Gods: play every dark instrument. • Divine Intervention: summon with dark instruments 30 times. • Fashionable Fingers: equip rings on all ten fingers simultaneously. Use the Sea Dog weapons against actual enemies. The weapon requirements are uses against enemies, not that many finishing blows. For doppelgangers, the counter is the number created, not 56 separate activations. Switching between styles also helps keep you from finishing the game with one Madness ability used constantly and the other barely touched. Pirate progression • Bounty Hunter / Super Bounty Hunter: complete 20 / 50 bounties. • Reach Sea Legs-Havers, Popular Picaroons, Buccaneer Bigshots and Legends of the Sea. • Recruit 30 / 50 / 80 crew members for the three Goro Pirates recruitment trophies. • Bonds Between Boys: watch all Noah's Drink Links. • Bonds Between Men: watch every crew Drink Link. The pirate ranks are two through five stars. Recruitment is a separate counter from rank, and hiring somebody is separate from assigning them to your ship. I would check both before assuming your crew work is finished. Coliseum and Devil Flags • Win 10 / 20 / 30 DIFFERENT Coliseum matches for New Star, Ace and Master of the Coliseum. • Legend of the Coliseum: defeat the Amon Pirates. • Showdown on Rokka Island: win that island battle. • Showdown on Atali Island: defeat the first Devil Flags officer. • Showdown in Flame Heaven: defeat the second officer. • Showdown in Frost Heaven: defeat the third officer. • Remember the Goro Pirates!: defeat their leader. Repeating one easy match thirty times isn't the Coliseum requirement. Keep clearing new entries. The detailed Coliseum and Amon posts cover the fight order and preparations; this checklist is where I'd check whether each trophy itself is finished. Exploration, equipment and collections • Island Adventurer: clear 10 different islands. • Novice / Expert Treasure Hunter: obtain 10 / 40 different treasures. • My Glorious Goromaru: obtain 50 ship customization parts. • Julie-chan's Biggest Fan: craft three different cannons at Julie's Gearworks. • Rocket Sniper: sink five enemy ships with the rocket launcher. • Domestic Pirate: cook every recipe. • Goodbye, Old Me / Fashionista / Trendsetter: obtain 20 / 50 / 100 clothing types. • Memories of Honolulu: photograph 30 different Photo Rally targets. • Extreme Extrovert: befriend 50 people through Aloha Links. • By Hook or By Crook: travel by chain hook 20 times. • Hooking and Gathering: catch 30 fish and bugs with the hook. • Making a Menagerie: obtain seven pets. • Not Counting the Usual Ones: obtain two golden balls. For Rocket Sniper, use Majima's handheld launcher from the deck, not the ship's cannon weapons. Upgrade it if the starter launcher isn't doing enough damage. A practical approach is to weaken a ship, switch to the deck and finish it with rockets. If those mixed-damage kills aren't registering for you, try weaker ships using only the launcher; some players have reported needing that. Don't turn a player's workaround into a claim that the written trophy requires rocket-only damage. Substories and activities • Taking the Scenic Route / Main Story? What's That?: complete 10 / 20 substories. • My Dream Minato Girl: finish the Minato Girls romance outcome. • Party Pirate: play 10 different minigames. • High-Speed Pirate: win all three Dragon Kart cups. • Sea Shanties: play karaoke aboard the Goromaru. • Erudite Pirate: obtain five Ounabara certificates. • Crazy Captain: complete every Crazy Delivery course. • Barrel Basher: destroy 1,500 barrels at Bang Bang Batting Center. Crazy Delivery has two locations with four courses each. Finish both sets. For Sea Shanties, use the karaoke machine in the captain's cabin after the ship has been upgraded; singing somewhere in Honolulu isn't the same requirement. Barrel Basher is cumulative, so you're not trying to break 1,500 in one attempt. Once the other 61 PlayStation trophies are earned, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is the platinum. Where to stop if the platinum is your goal Don't confuse the larger guides with the smaller trophy targets. The photo trophy asks for 30 targets, not the entire photo collection. Treasure asks for 40, not every Treasury entry. Pets asks for seven. Substories has a 20-completion milestone, although the Minato outcome has its own requirement. Ability purchases stop at 60 for trophies, even though there are more upgrades available. Likewise, the batting trophy is 1,500 barrels. An in-game completion challenge asking for more doesn't change that trophy. And playing ten different minigames isn't the same as mastering ten of them. I'd finish by comparing the platform trophy list with the in-game counters, one section at a time. If something hasn't unlocked, check the verb in its requirement first. A purchased cannon isn't necessarily a crafted cannon. A ring sitting in your inventory isn't an equipped ring. A ship damaged by rockets isn't a ship sunk by rockets. Those are the little distinctions that can leave you chasing something you've almost done without actually finishing it.
