Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii: Goromaru upgrade prices and crafting guide This is the full shopping list for the Goromaru's performance upgrades and weapons. The important thing is knowing what you are paying for: ship capacity and durability use money, ordinary weapon upgrades use money, and Julie's special weapons use materials. Fully buying the performance menu and all paid weapon branches costs $469,300, or $479,300 including the story refit. Crafting materials and cosmetic parts are extra. All prices below are in-game dollars. Each price is the cost of that step, not the total spent so far. When upgrading opens Continue Chapter 2 until Julie and Clark finish the Goromaru's refit. That story requirement is $10,000 and a crew of 15. Afterward, open Prepare to Sail at the ship, a lighthouse, or the Coliseum preparation screen. Use Upgrade Performance for the hull, boarding spaces, cannon capacity, repairs, fuel and smoke. Use Change Equipment to buy or equip weapons. Julie's Gearworks unlocks the special crafted weapons once her crafting service becomes available during the story. Fill any new crew slots after buying them. Paying for more boarding spaces or another cannon position does not recruit or assign someone for you. Every performance upgrade Boarding Squad Increase: • Level 1: $100. • Level 2: $2,000. • Level 3: $4,000. Each step adds five boarding positions. All three cost $6,100. Additional Port Cannon: $2,000 for one additional cannon on the left side. Additional Starboard Cannon: $2,000 for one additional cannon on the right side. Both sides together cost $4,000. These capacity upgrades are separate from buying a better cannon weapon. Additional Repairs: • Level 1: $50. • Level 2: $200. • Level 3: $1,000. • Level 4: $3,000. Each step adds one repair use. Total: $4,250 for four additional uses. Fuel Tank Increase: • Level 1: $100. • Level 2: $500. • Level 3: $2,500. • Level 4: $5,000. Each step adds one fuel-tank stock. Total: $8,100 for four additional stocks. Additional Smoke Screens: • Level 1: $100. • Level 2: $2,000. Each step adds one use. Total: $2,100 for two additional uses. The complete durability ladder There are five tiers with five purchases in each. Finish the current tier to open the next one. • Durability Boost: $50, $200, $1,000, $1,500, $2,000. Tier total: $4,750. • Durability Boost Plus: $3,000 at each of its five levels. Tier total: $15,000. Cumulative hull spending: $19,750. • Durability Boost Extreme: $5,000 at each of its five levels. Tier total: $25,000. Cumulative: $44,750. • Durability Boost Kiwami: $10,000 at each of its five levels. Tier total: $50,000. Cumulative: $94,750. • Durability Boost Supreme: $40,000 at each of its five levels. Tier total: $200,000. Cumulative: $294,750. That is 25 hull purchases. Add the other 15 performance purchases and the full performance menu costs $319,300. The initial $10,000 story refit, weapons, crafting materials and cosmetic parts are outside that total. Don't read that as the entry fee for every boss. You can improve the ship in stages, then return for the expensive Supreme tier when you are completing the whole menu. Shop-bought port and starboard weapons are separate purchases. Buying a cannon for the left side does not buy it for the right. Cash-purchase checklist Prices below are the cost of that individual purchase, not the total spent reaching that tier. Follow each arrow in order. Power is the weapon's listed value, not promised damage against every enemy. Port/starboard cannon ladder: • Default cannon: already supplied, power 200. • Bronze Cannon: $1,000, power 250. • Silver Cannon: another $4,000, power 300. • Gold Cannon: another $10,000, power 400. • Order: default → Bronze → Silver → Gold. Port/starboard flamethrower ladder: • Flamethrower: $1,000, power 800. • Silver Flamethrower: another $4,000, power 1,050. • Gold Flamethrower: another $10,000, power 1,400. • Order: ordinary → Silver → Gold. Separate port/starboard option: • Energy Cannon: $15,000, power 1,400. It is its own purchase, not the next ordinary-cannon tier. Machine-gun ladders: • Beginner Gatling Gun: supplied, power 200 → Bronze Gatling Gun: $1,000, power 250 → Silver Gatling Gun: $5,000, power 300 → Gold Gatling Gun: $10,000, power 400. • Frost Machine Gun: $6,000, power 300 → Super Frost Machine Gun: another $10,000, power 400. These can freeze targets. Silver and Gold Gatling Guns add burning shots. Rocket-launcher choices, listed as price / firepower / ammunition: • Captain's Rocket Launcher: supplied / 55 / 10. • Silver Captain's Launcher: $3,000 / 60 / 30. • Gold Captain's Launcher: $5,000 / 70 / 50. • Captain's Meteor Launcher: $10,000 / 350 / 10. • Captain's Toxic Launcher: $10,000 / 55 / 60. The launchers are separate choices rather than a mandatory Silver-to-Gold purchase chain. Meteor favors damage per shot; Toxic adds contamination. The complete cash-purchase list above costs $150,000 if you buy every tier and unlock every purchasable cannon family on both sides. That is $90,000 across the two broadsides, $32,000 for machine guns and $28,000 for launchers. It excludes performance upgrades, cosmetics and Julie's materials. Julie's nine weapon recipes Either Honolulu branch of Julie's Gearworks works: Hula Avenue in East Waikiki or Anaconda Shopping Center. Crafting opens after Julie's part in the Chapter 2 refit. Make the ordinary weapon before its Super version. Read the three-number materials entry as Components / Quality Components / Superb Components. Quantities are for one listed recipe. The shop lists material requirements rather than a cash price. • Shark Cannon: 50 / 30 / 10, plus 10 Sharkstone. • Super Shark Cannon: 100 / 50 / 20, plus 20 Sharkstone. • Egesta Cannon: 50 / 30 / 10, plus 10 Ethereal Egesta. • Super Egesta Cannon: 100 / 50 / 20, plus 20 Ethereal Egesta. • Coconut Machine Gun: 50 / 30 / 10, plus 3 Coconut. • Super Coconut Machine Gun: 100 / 50 / 20, plus 5 Coconut. • Laser Cannon: 50 / 25 / 15. • Super Laser Cannon: 100 / 50 / 20. • Captain's Squid Launcher: 75 / 45 / 15, plus 20 Squid Tentacles. Shark Cannons freeze targets, with power 200 for ordinary and 300 for Super. Egesta Cannons contaminate targets, with power 250 and 350 respectively. Laser's pair is 1,500/2,000. Coconut's pair is 350/450 and favors attacking a ship's stern. The Squid launcher has firepower 40, 80 rounds and a freezing effect. One craft of each of the nine recipes uses 675 Components, 360 Quality Components, 140 Superb Components, 30 Sharkstone, 30 Ethereal Egesta, 8 Coconut and 20 Squid Tentacles. This subtotal covers one craft per recipe only. Check both cannon sides in Change Equipment before budgeting for your final loadout. Story weapon Flame Cannon is a separate Chapter 4 story acquisition, with power 325. Do not confuse it with the purchasable Flamethrower family. Where to gather the materials For Components, collect floating supply crates while sailing and use a Materials Net on the Goromaru. Check the net after traveling the required distance, then collect the haul. Lighthouse merchants may sell components, but their inventory varies. Treasure Select Pawn branches also sell the three grades. Julie can convert three Components into one Quality Component, and three Quality Components into one Superb Component. Converting all the way from the basic grade therefore takes nine Components for one Superb Component. Keep enough of each grade for the actual recipe instead of converting everything immediately. For rarer ingredients: • Sharkstone and Squid Tentacles: swim to Nolan's Boat off the western part of Aloha Beach, or check sea merchants and Gunpowder Bill. • Ethereal Egesta: check public-restroom toilets, floating loot, and Gunpowder Bill's rotating stock. A toilet search is a chance to obtain it, not a guaranteed drop every time. • Coconut: use the Chain Hook on hanging coconuts, or buy the actual fruit from a produce seller. Coconut water is a different item. Gunpowder Bill wanders near the enclosed ground east of Little Japan's shrine. His rare stock is random: Sharkstone and Squid Tentacles are $500 each, and Ethereal Egesta is $700. Check his cart, travel away and return if necessary. Don't start a nearby fight, because he can flee. His component prices are $10, $30 and $80 for basic, Quality and Superb respectively. A useful order to spend in First buy the $100 boarding increase and put people in it. Then add the extra cannon positions and buy affordable repair and hull upgrades. These improve the crew you can field and give you more room for mistakes without consuming your whole budget. Choose an offensive plan before buying every weapon branch. A cash-bought Energy Cannon is a useful early option. Crafting Laser Cannon and then Super Laser Cannon gives you a strong later broadside, but you still need to keep the beam on target. A Super Frost Machine Gun gives you freezing control; Super Coconut Machine Gun is useful when you can attack enemy sterns. Buy more fuel if you keep running out of escapes, and raise repairs and hull health when enemy volleys are ending the fight. Finish optional weapon branches and the remaining durability tiers when working on full collection. Those are recommendations, not a fixed roster or a promise that one loadout wins every fight. Crafting and equipment rewards • Julie-chan's Biggest Fan: create three different cannons at Julie's Gearworks. Buying ordinary cannons through Change Equipment does not replace crafting them. • Julie recruitment: after making three cannons at her shop, speak to Julie there to recruit her. • Ship-weapon Challenges: obtain 5, 10 and 20 weapon types for 300, 500 and 1,000 Reputation respectively. • Julie crafting Challenges: complete 3, 10 and 20 crafts for 500, 1,000 and 3,000 Reputation respectively. These count crafting activity, while the trophy asks for different cannons. If you also want Rocket Sniper, sink five enemy ships with Majima's rocket launcher. Leave the helm, use the launcher from the deck, and make sure its shot finishes the ship. The ship's forward machine gun does not count as the handheld rocket launcher. My Glorious Goromaru is a separate goal for obtaining 50 appearance parts. Sails, hull patterns, figureheads and trimming change the ship's look; the performance and weapon budgets above do not include a complete cosmetic collection. Final check Check every performance tier, both cannon sides, the machine-gun slot and the launcher slot. Then check Julie's completed recipes and the Goro Pirates Challenges. Buying a weapon and leaving the old one equipped is an easy way to spend the money without getting the benefit.
