Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii: The Ocean Hunter
All right, this one is an entire arcade game sitting inside the game. The completion requirement is straightforward, but it takes more than walking up to the cabinet and playing one round. You need to finish all seven stages.
Where to play and what counts
Go to Anaconda Arcade inside Anaconda Shopping Center in Honolulu. The arcade is downstairs, behind the escalators toward the eastern side. Use the cabinet during your main-game save so you're working on that save's challenge.
Clearing every stage awards 10,000 Reputation. There isn't an A-rank or high-score requirement attached to that challenge. You can continue after losing your lives, so a bad boss fight doesn't mean the whole run has failed. Keep enough game money for credits and use the continue prompt rather than leaving the cabinet.
Getting comfortable with the shooting
Check the cabinet's control screen before starting. There are separate commands for normal aiming, slower aiming, single fire, and rapid fire. Rapid fire is useful for stopping attacks; slower aiming helps when the target becomes a small moving eye or another narrow weak point.
The shots take time to reach their target. If something is swimming across the screen, aim a little ahead of it instead of constantly shooting where it was. This becomes particularly important when the camera and boss are both moving.
Your weapon fires five shots before automatically replenishing. There isn't a finite ammunition supply to collect, but the pause between volleys still matters. Firing at nothing can leave you between shots when a weak-point prompt appears. Use rapid fire when there's something worth hitting, then be ready to place the next shot carefully.
Divers, health, and treasure
When a diver is being attacked, shoot the creature threatening them. A successful rescue restores one life. Shooting the diver yourself costs one life, so stop firing while dragging the reticle across their body.
Treasure chests are for score. Shoot one to open it, then keep shooting to get more treasure points. I'd clear the immediate threat first. A chest isn't worth losing health when your goal is simply to finish the stages.
Most major bosses eventually give you a marked weak-point sequence. Once that happens, spraying the rest of their body won't substitute for hitting the indicated target. Watch the prompt and move the reticle deliberately.
The seven stages
1. Baroque Sea: Kraken
Stop the attacking tentacles by shooting them, following the raised arm toward its tip. When Kraken grabs you, switch to its eye. Land the marked eye hits before the timer runs out.
2. Luna Sea: Leviathan
For Hydra, shoot the mouths of the eels as the view rotates between them. Against Leviathan, aim at the lower jaw and open mouth, clearing the smaller sharks when they approach. The final charge wants shots down its throat.
3. Tartarus Deep: Charybdis
Clear the fish Charybdis spits out. When it retreats into darkness, use the glowing lure to locate the body beneath it. During the suction sequence, shoot the marked light itself.
4. Texcoco Great Lake: Ahuizotl
Aim at the head during its lunges. After the fight moves above water, keep watching the raised head and hit the mouth when it comes in to strike. Don't follow the entire neck with your aim.
5. North Sea: Karkinos
First stop the claws. When the leg targets appear, work from the lowest upward through all three. Then hit both eyes during the marked sequence. Staying on only one eye won't finish that part.
6. West Ocean: Midgardsorm
You'll pass Basilosaurus before being swallowed. Once inside Midgardsorm, move through the parasite section to the heart. Keep damaging the heart, but switch immediately to parasites moving in to bite you. Return to the heart once the immediate threats are cleared. Don't spend the whole encounter staring at the large target while the small ones do the damage.
7. Panthalassa: Rahab
The final stretch includes Umi-Bozu, Black Dragon, and the paired Vritra and Kaliya before the main boss. Keep checking which creature is actively attacking rather than letting a second enemy hit you while you're focused on the first.
The final boss has three forms. Dagon attacks with its hands; shoot those attacks back. Poseidon sends water projectiles, which you need to shoot down. Rahab's final form has the large forehead eye as its weak point. Keep going after the first form falls; that isn't the end of the game.
A couple of places that can get messy
In Tartarus Deep, Scylla's tentacle attacks can be interrupted, but its closing rush puts pressure on you to finish it quickly. Naga follows later in that stage. Keep tracking its moving body instead of leaving the reticle parked in one place.
In the North Sea, Medusa comes with smaller jellyfish. Clear the ones threatening you rather than ignoring them to attack the big one. The same habit helps later inside Midgardsorm: remove the thing about to hit you, then return to the boss.
If you lose your lives, continue and carry on. This is a completion run, so there's no reason to restart because you didn't play perfectly. Finish the final encounter, let the result register, leave the cabinet, and check the challenge before saving your progress.
