# Dragon Kart in Pirate Yakuza
All right, for Dragon Kart, winning the three cups is only part of it. There are the cups, the elimination duels, the two substories after those, the karts themselves, and the stuff at the exchange. I want to keep those separate so nobody finishes one part and assumes there's nothing left.
Start Dragon Kart in Paradise in the southwest corner of Harbor Park, across from Ounabara Vocational School. The first race introduces the minigame. From there, work through Resort Cup, Urban Cup, and Festival Cup. Winning all three gets High-Speed Pirate.
After Resort, do Go-Kart Grandpa's elimination duel. After Urban, do Elelu's. After Festival, do Daisy's. Those wins unlock Ignition Shadow, Rapid Phantom, and Rumble Crasher, respectively. Unlock means available to purchase, not automatically bought for you.
When all three cups and those three duels are finished, you can take on Ran in The Fastest in Hawaii. This one is a race even though it sits under the elimination-duel setup. You need to finish first without getting your kart destroyed. Speed alone isn't the whole problem. Keep enough durability to survive the attacks while you hold the lead.
Beating Ran recruits her and unlocks Rising Dragon. Then return for The Path to Speed and the Robo Michio fight. That's an arena fight against five enemies, not another race around Honolulu. Use the shield pickups, keep moving, and use the satellite weapon when you can collect it safely. Don't sit still trading shots or drive straight through the explosive barrels. Buy and improve Rising Dragon before this if your existing kart isn't holding up.
Finishing that fight recruits Robo Michio Mach and unlocks Legend Wave. Check the kart shop afterward instead of assuming that last unlock has completed your collection.
The purchase prices are:
- Lost Rider: your starting kart.
- Crimson Fire, Navy Fang, and Golden Phalanx: $1,000 each.
- Ignition Shadow, Rapid Phantom, and Rumble Crasher: $5,000 each.
- Rising Dragon and Legend Wave: $10,000 each.
For upgrades, these are the separate costs to reach levels 2, 3, and 4. They are not cumulative prices.
Lost Rider and Crimson Fire:
- Driving performance: $200, $200, $200.
- Durability: $50, $100, $150.
- Ring recovery: $50, $100, $150.
Navy Fang and Golden Phalanx:
- Driving performance: $300, $300, $300.
- Durability: $50, $100, $150.
- Ring recovery: $50, $100, $150.
Ignition Shadow, Rapid Phantom, and Rumble Crasher:
- Driving performance: $400, $400, $400.
- Durability: $100, $200, $300.
- Ring recovery: $100, $200, $300.
Rising Dragon:
- Driving performance: $800, $800, $800.
- Durability: $200, $400, $600.
- Ring recovery: $200, $400, $600.
Legend Wave:
- Driving performance: $1,000, $1,000, $1,000.
- Durability: $400, $600, $800.
- Ring recovery: $200, $400, $600.
That means buying Rising Dragon and finishing those upgrades costs $14,800 altogether. Legend Wave costs $16,000 on the same basis. You don't need to upgrade every kart just to win the cups, so I'd build up one that handles well for you before spreading money around the whole garage.
For the actual driving, take corners under control. A faster kart doesn't save time if you're scraping along the outside wall. Use the drift, and release your boost before a turn that you haven't learned yet. Time Attack gives you a way to practice a course without trying to manage the entire pack at once.
In the arena duels, durability and useful pickups matter more than being the fastest thing on the screen. A shield that keeps you alive is worth more than another attack you never get to use because you're knocked out. Keep moving, and don't get trapped against the edge of the arena.
The ring exchange is its own checklist:
- Ring of Blossom treasure chest: 1,500 rings.
- Buttoned Aloha Shirt and Cab Driver Clothes: 150 each.
- Cab Driver Hat, Shoes, and Gloves: 100 each.
- Project SEKAI soundtrack CDs 1–2: 10 each.
- maimai DX soundtrack CDs 1–2: 10 each.
- CHUNITHM soundtrack CDs 1–2: 10 each.
- Bronze Plate: 5.
- Silver Plate: 50.
- Gold Plate: 250.
- Platinum Plate: 500.
- Swiss Watch: 1,000.
- Vintage Luxury Watch: 2,500.
I'd get the treasure and the unique clothing and music before converting the rings into resale items. Then check the cups, all five duels including Ran and Robo Michio, the kart purchases, and the exchange separately. That is a much better stopping point than getting the three-cup trophy and walking away with half the side story unfinished.
