Infinite Wealth: Getting Through the Early Substories
All right, here's the substory walkthrough for Infinite Wealth. I'm keeping these simple enough to use while you're playing, but I don't want to leave out the little things that can have you wandering around wondering why something hasn't started.
There are 52 substories. None are permanently missable, and you can finish them in Premium Adventure. Some need a particular time of day, another substory, or more main-story progress. If a continuation disappears, leave the area and check for the blue marker. If it still doesn't return, check those requirements before running in circles.
The numbers below match the game's substory list. They aren't a required play order. There are minor side-story spoilers here.
1. Radio Active
This happens during Chapter 1 in Ijincho. Deal with the men harassing Unai and finish the conversation. It introduces the Playlist app. You don't need to search Hawaii for this one.
2. Sujimon, Generation II
Another automatic introduction, this time in Chapter 2 before leaving Japan. Finish the encounter with Sujimon Sensei to get the Sujidex. This enemy catalogue is separate from the Sujimon battling system you'll unlock later.
3. Crazy Money
Follow the early Hawaii story until you're introduced to Charlie and Crazy Delivery. Complete that first delivery session. The harder delivery courses are separate activities; you don't have to clear all of them to finish this substory.
4. Busted!
Continue the Chapter 3 story around Jeff's taco truck and complete the encounter introducing Poundmates. This also opens the way for several other early substories, so progress the story if the beach seems unusually empty.
5. Welcome to Hawaii, MFer!
The Chapter 3 introduction around Revolve teaches Aloha Links. Finish the greetings tutorial. You can continue befriending people afterward, but all 200 connections are not required to close this substory.
6. Surfin' the Streets!
Find Oka near Pigeon Family Market in Chapter 3. Agree to test his Street Surfer, then deal with the men who interrupt. Finish the conversation and the vehicle is yours to use around town.
7. Miss Match
Approach the dolphin statues at the Waikiki Street/Seaside Avenue intersection. Follow the misunderstanding into Machiko's introduction and complete the dating-app tutorial. More dates come later; this is just the opening event.
8. Snap Those Sickos!
Board the trolley at Aloha Beach in Chapter 3. Play the introductory Sicko Snap round. If the trolley isn't there, wait for it rather than looking for somebody standing beside the stop.
9. A Love as Sweet as Lemons
Visit Tony's lemonade stand at the eastern end of Waikiki Street. Help him distribute samples, then return when the next marker appears. The three rounds ask for four, six, then eight deliveries. Listen for people complaining about thirst or heat. After the third round, follow Tony's remaining markers and finish the confrontation. The delivery rounds aren't the end of the story.
10. Coming Out of Her Shell
After unlocking Poundmates, visit the Nancy scene on Aloha Beach. Leave and return for the next meeting, collect the flowers on Momo Street, and bring them back. Use the medium-strength throw when the boys interfere. Continue at Resort Boulevard near Mocha Mahalo, then return to the beach and win the final fight.
11. Wait for Me
Find the restaurant at Sakura Street and Momo Street during the day. Agree to cover a shift. Greet the first customer warmly, the second formally, and the child with a milder friendly greeting.
The orders are an acai bowl and lau lau for the customer in black; ahi poke and three haupias for the cheerful customer; mahi mahi for the elegant customer. For the family, choose the left dish for lau lau and the center dish for kalua pig. The owner's name is Obispo. Finish the shift and conversation. Good answers improve the result; you aren't choosing a permanent story branch.
12. Saved by Kindness
Speak to the kneeling tourist on Makani Avenue and help him locate his hotel. Keep returning for Sawai's follow-up scenes when the blue icon reappears. “The lei girl” is the useful answer when he asks who you mean. Eventually the marker moves toward Ayame Street. Go there and win the confrontation to finish it.
13. Rock and Roil
Once Poundmates are unlocked, speak to the man being fanned near Aloha Beach Juicery. Follow the next marker toward Aloha Street, then return to Kazami on the beach. Choose “Ask the spirits for a storm!” for the bonus, and match Ichiban's movements during the ritual until the sequence finishes.
14. Neck-Deep in Love
Talk to Hamabe near Kana's Coconut Juice Stand. Remember Tanabe-kun's name, then question the buried boys for clues. You're looking for the short-haired boy with glasses. When facing the ocean, check the fourth column and second row. Deliver the letter and finish the reunion.
15. Samurai, May We Walk Together?
After Poundmates unlock, approach the boats south of Ocean Boys and help with the fight. Agree to Nathan's filming. Rice and millet, then the hat, give personality bonuses. Continue through the darts scene and defend him in the final confrontation.
16. Beach Guardian: Water, Water Everywhere
Swim toward the distressed person off Aloha Beach, then help Raymond distribute water. Find ten people within three minutes. Look for complaints about dizziness, blurred vision, or dehydration. Finish the distribution to unlock the next Raymond event.
17. Beach Guardian: No Kidding Around
Return to Raymond after #16. Find the girl in a red swimsuit and a straw hat with a blue ribbon near the northeastern beach tree. Then find the boy in white swimwear and an orange cap toward the western end. Bring both searches to their conclusion.
18. Beach Guardian: Heroes of the Sand
After #17, speak to Raymond at the lifeguard tower. Complete the thief chase, then find Raymond farther west and beat the harassers. Watch the ordinary street enemies on the way if your party is still low-level.
19. Home to Roost
With Poundmates unlocked, inspect the empty chair toward the western end of Aloha Beach. Make the timed trip for bird food, avoiding collisions, then finish the fight and the bird's story. That's the early beach group finished.
