Yakuza: Like a Dragon: a practical route to Executive Hero
Executive Hero takes 300 total member points. You don't need to clear the entire Part-time Hero list, and you don't need to spend hours hoping one awkward enemy will appear.
The route below gets past 300 through fixed objectives, marked rescue battles and manageable deliveries. It includes every missing person and the full toilet-paper chain. Some requests need later story progress, so treat this as a route to finish during the story or in Premium Adventure, not a Chapter 5 checklist you must complete before moving on.
UNDERSTAND WHAT COUNTS
Part-time Hero opens in Chapter 5 through How to Be a Part-time Hero. Support and Rescue requests award member points. Challenge objectives raise Ichiban's personality stats, but don't raise his Hero rank.
The important rank totals are 70 for Senior Hero, 150 for Veteran Hero and 300 for Executive Hero. Your points carry forward. You aren't earning a fresh 300 after reaching Veteran.
Turn in completed deliveries and enemy takedowns to a Part-time Hero representative. Look for the blue helmet icons without an exclamation mark. The representative inside Poppo at Jinnai Station is a useful stop while shopping. Having everything in your inventory does not automatically claim the reward.
Missing-person requests and the special toilet deliveries resolve at their targets. SOS requests are the marked rescue battles. Finish the conversation with the person you helped rather than running away as soon as the enemies fall.
START WITH THE BIG FIXED REWARDS
Please Find My Cat 1 gives 30 points, Please Find My Cat 2 gives 10, and Kappture the Kappa gives 30. That's 70 combined, plus ¥4 million once everything is turned in.
Once the Romance Workshop has opened in Chapter 5, start the cat requests by visiting Hiro's office above Café Brave and speaking to him, then leaving. The follow-up requires reporting the first nine cats before finding Robson. The kappa request can't be finished until the Chapter 7 locations are accessible.
With those three requests done, the following two chains bring the fixed-objective subtotal to 128 points.
ALL FIVE MISSING PEOPLE
These requests open in sequence. Complete the current one and check that the next request has appeared before travelling to the next person.
• Missing: Willful Son, 8 points. Go to Sasaki Arcade in the Commercial District. Speak to the boy examining the capsule machines outside the entrance.
• Missing: Peeved Girlfriend, 8 points. Enter Café Brave beneath the Part-time Hero office in North Jinnai Station. Approach the woman looking at the food counter. She is inside the café, not upstairs with Hiro.
• Missing: Homeless Wreck, 9 points. Go to the homeless camp and find the Shogi player. Continue south along the building to the men beneath the blue tarp. Move close enough for the interaction prompt; this target is easy to overlook from the main path.
• Missing: Fellow Gaijin, 9 points. Go to la chatte blanche. From outside its entrance, follow the covered walkway south beside the building. Speak to the man sitting on the bench. Going into the restaurant won't complete the request.
• Missing: Whipped Husband, 9 points. In the Bar District, take the stairs between Bar Rodriguez and The Harbor Light. Follow the upper walkway around the back and speak to the man looking over the river.
The five requests add 43 points and ¥675,000. There is no capture mechanic or escort section. Find the correct person, speak to them and let the request finish.
THE ENTIRE STRAIGHT OUTTA PAPER CHAIN
Go to Can Quest in the southwest of Ijincho. Use Kan-san's shop to buy 21 Pocket Tissues at 200 points each, a total of 4,200 Can Quest points. Those are minigame points, not Part-time Hero member points.
Buy the full supply together. The later requests need more than one pack, and returning to Can Quest after each bathroom wastes time.
Complete these in order:
• Straight Outta Paper: take 1 pack to the public bathroom in Hamakita Park. Speak to the man in the occupied cubicle. Reward: 1 member point.
• Station Constipation: take 2 packs to the bathroom at East Jinnai Station. Approach the marked bathroom from its north side to find the entrance. Reward: 2 points.
• Big Rumble in Little China: take 3 packs to the public bathroom in Chinatown, by Breakwater Drive. Walk around the man near the entrance and interact with the occupied cubicle. Reward: 3 points.
• Closed for Construction: take 5 packs to the public bathroom in Tsurukame Alley in the Commercial District. Reward: 4 points.
• Shit Outta Luck: take the remaining 10 packs upstairs in Wette Kitchen on Isezaki Road. Find the bathroom rather than trying to hand them to the restaurant counter. Reward: 5 points.
The chain gives 15 member points and ¥97,000. The next stop is marked when its request becomes available. If a follow-up hasn't appeared, check the Support menu and advance the story rather than searching every toilet in town.
CLEAR THE MARKED SOS BATTLES
There are 24 SOS requests worth 97 points altogether. The full set isn't available until Chapter 15. Completing them alongside the cats, kappas, missing people and toilet deliveries brings the total to 225.
Use the blue helmet markers with exclamation marks to find the civilians who need help. The encounters include places such as the Bar District bike racks, Carriage Highway near Jinnai Bank, and the Commercial District near Can Quest. More appear as the story progresses.
Save before trying a new one. A request appearing on the map doesn't mean your current party is ready for it. If its enemies are far above your level, leave it until after some story progress or a Battle Arena run.
SOS: Tsurukame Alley includes an Invested Vagabond. Target it immediately with a multi-hit attack such as Joon-gi Han's Rapid Shot before it can escape. That makes the request useful for experience as well as Hero progress.
THE REMAINING DELIVERY ROUTE
From that 225-point foundation, the following groups provide another 77 points. The route reaches 302 without requiring a rare enemy takedown or UFO Catcher prize. Any other requests you've already completed reduce how much of this shopping you need.
Basic insects: 8 points
Complete Bug Delivery 1-1 through 1-5. You need one each of Butterfly, Moth, Mantis, Dragonfly, Spider, Scorpion, Beehive, Empty Cicada Shell, Rhinoceros Beetle and Stag Beetle.
Gather the sparkling insect pickups in Hamakita Park while doing other errands, or use the Can Quest exchange for the ordinary insects. Hand the requests in sequentially. The first two give 1 point each, and the following three give 2 each.
Golden insects: 17 points
Bug Delivery 3-1 opens at Senior Hero; completing it unlocks the next golden-insect request. Complete 3-1 through 3-4 using the Sotenbori Battle Arena's repeatable additional rewards, available from Chapter 12:
• Golden Moth and Golden Butterfly: floors 1 and 2.
• Golden Mantis and Golden Dragonfly: floors 4 and 8.
• Golden Scorpion and Golden Spider: floors 7 and 6.
• Golden Rhinoceros Beetle and Golden Stag Beetle: floors 3 and 9.
Meet each floor's additional condition. Merely winning doesn't always award the insect. These four deliveries pay 4, 4, 4 and 5 points. Keep your crafting needs in mind, but these bugs can be earned again.
Vegetables: 8 points
Hero's Harvest in Hamakita Park sells the produce for Vegetable Delivery 1 through 4. Buy 1 Daikon, 2 Potatoes, 1 Tomato, 2 Onions, 1 Hot Pepper, 2 Garlic, 1 Mysterious Carrot and 1 Mysterious Mushroom. Each delivery pays 2 points. Buying the finished vegetables avoids waiting on planters.
Food and everyday shopping: 30 points
Work through Food Delivery 1-1 and 1-2, Bento Delivery 1-1 and 1-2, Sweets Delivery 1, Daily Necessities Delivery 1, Juice Delivery 1, Souvenirs of the City Delivery, Souvenirs of Chinatown Delivery and Juice Delivery 2.
Gather the supplies by shop instead of making a separate trip for each request:
• Homeless camp and Can Quest: 1 Soup Kitchen Pork Soup from the camp's food vendor, plus 3 Disposed Bento and 2 Half-Empty Drinks from Kan-san.
• Poppo at Tsurukame Highway: 1 Pine Candy, 1 Oragamachi Natto, 1 Bento Lunch Set and 1 Luxury Yakiniku Bento.
• Poppo at Jinnai Station: 1 Nozaki's Corned Beef, 1 Chicken Karaage Bento and 1 Premium Sushi Set.
• Sweet Heaven in Chinatown: 1 Soft Serve Ice Cream, 2 Almond Jelly and 1 Mango Pudding.
• Welcome Pharmacy: 1 Kao Attack ZERO and 1 Cemedine Super X. Add 2 Roasted Chestnuts from Ultimate Pork Buns.
• City souvenirs: speak to the grandmother inside Seagull Cinema for Grandma's Cookies, buy Fluffy Croquettes from Chicken del sol, and pick up SEGA Taiyaki at Poppo on Sotenbori Street.
• Full Belly Buns in Chinatown: 1 Handmade Meat Bun, 1 Bean Paste Bun and 1 Shark Fin Bun.
• Lucky Soda vending machines: 1 Poseidon Power, 1 Apple Defense, 2 Peach Steps, 1 Muscle Soda, 1 Guardian Water and 1 Quickness Lemon. Check different machines rather than assuming they all stock the same drinks. Look near MIRAI Batting Center for Quickness Lemon.
Don't eat the reserved delivery food. Report each completed request so its follow-up can open.
Appliances, plates and battle items: 14 points
Used Appliance Delivery needs a Worn-out Microwave and Worn-out TV from Can Quest. Plate Delivery 1 needs a Bronze Plate and Silver Plate, so keep one of each instead of selling every plate immediately.
Battle Items Delivery 1 needs a Smoke Bomb, Astringent Gauze and Hardball. Benten Pawn supplies these. Battle Items Delivery 2 needs a Fear Gas Ball, Daunt Gas Ball and Lamp Stand, all available at Ebisu Pawn in Sotenbori.
Turn those four requests in in that order to unlock each follow-up. They give 2, 3, 4 and 5 points respectively, completing the 302-point route.
WHEN A TAKEDOWN IS QUICKER
You don't have to follow the shopping route rigidly. Claim any takedowns you've completed naturally, then stop as soon as your total reaches 300.
Takedown counters only start when the request is available. Turn completed ones in promptly so later targets can start counting. Also distinguish a broad enemy family from a named individual. A request for ten Thugs accepts members of that family; a request naming one particular enemy needs that enemy.
Useful places to combine counters with ordinary travel include Jinnai Station for Businessmen, Hyakkei Street for Snippers, and the streets outside MIRAI Batting Center for Baseball Fans. Dungeon and Battle Arena versions count too, so you aren't restricted to the district suggested in a request.
Once Executive Hero unlocks, visit Hiro to collect the rank reward, the Ceramic Boxcutter. Check the menu, claim what's ready and stop chasing points you no longer need.
