Yakuza: Like a Dragon: Finish Dragon Kart and Beat the Dragon Fighter Dragon Kart has four Grand Prix cups and six rival races after its introductory event. Winning the Dragon Cup is not the end. You still have to beat the organizer in the final challenge to earn Pop the Cork. You can start in Chapter 4 at the Dragon Kart building on the northern edge of Hamakita Park. Complete “Welcome to Dragon Kart!” to open the activity. You can make substantial progress immediately, but the final stretch is locked until Chapter 15. Build a kart before blaming your driving The international version starts you with Crimson Fire, Navy Fang, and Golden Phalanx. Crimson Fire is balanced, Navy Fang emphasizes acceleration, and Golden Phalanx is tougher. Open Kart Setting and upgrade the kart you actually intend to drive. Its upgrades cover driving performance, durability, item capacity, and benefits from rings. These categories can be raised to Level 4. A practical route is to use a fully upgraded Navy Fang for the early races, then buy Rapid Phantom after beating the Rocket Girls. Rapid Phantom costs ¥500,000 before upgrades and makes a strong main kart for the rest of the storyline. You do not need to buy and maximize every kart to win the achievement. If you keep losing because the kart is destroyed, improve durability and ring recovery before treating another top-speed increase as the answer. A slightly slower clean race beats repeatedly stopping after a crash. The full progression route 1. Win the Cerberus Cup. Its tracks are Primal Road, Dirt Drive, and Split Axle. Learn the cornering rhythm here. On Split Axle, watch the map for the branching section rather than turning late because the road briefly looks wider. 2. Beat “Two-headed Bomb.” Leave the race building and approach the rival event outside. Naoki and Hamanoumi challenge you on a foggy version of Split Axle. Winning makes Rumble Crasher available to buy. You can keep using Navy Fang instead. 3. Win the Pegasus Cup. The courses are Tricky Bounce, Oily Way, and Explosion Boulevard. This cup punishes blindly holding a straight line through hazards. Oily Way needs controlled steering on narrow routes. Explosion Boulevard needs you to recognize the barrel arrangements before boosting. 4. Beat “The Rocket Girls.” After the Pegasus win and earlier rival race, leave and return for Ai and Matsuko's challenge. It uses Explosion Boulevard in fog. Navy Fang is viable if you can avoid barrels. Golden Phalanx gives more room for mistakes. Winning unlocks Rapid Phantom for purchase. 5. Buy and upgrade Rapid Phantom, then win the Phoenix Cup. The courses are Pain Circuit, Sky Highway, and Winding Cross. Watch the electrical hazards on Pain Circuit, use the air-launching fans on Sky Highway, and prepare early for Winding Cross's sharp corners. 6. Beat “The Data Drifter.” Suguru races you on foggy Pain Circuit. Keep glancing at the minimap so the fog does not force a late turn. Winning makes Ignition Shadow available, but you can continue with Rapid Phantom. 7. Beat “Biker Blitz.” Akira waits to the right of the Dragon Kart building after Suguru. His race uses foggy Sky Highway. Build your line around the speed pads and fans, then use held boosts where the kart is already pointing safely forward. 8. Reach Chapter 15, then beat “One Hell of a Racer.” Jin sits on the bench opposite Dragon Kart. If he is not available earlier, stop searching for another hidden cup. This is a story gate. His race uses foggy Winding Cross. Acceleration and clean corner exits matter more than trying to take every bend at full speed. 9. Win the Dragon Cup. Its three tracks are Sonic Stampede, Fatal Hazard, and Final Kamuro Circuit. Keep the same upgraded kart and focus on avoiding large mistakes. These courses combine narrow passages, abrupt turns, and multiple hazard types. 10. Beat “The World is my Racetrack.” Speak to the organizer after winning the Dragon Cup. The Dragon Fighter challenges you on foggy Final Kamuro Circuit. Winning finishes the racing story, unlocks the Rising Dragon kart for purchase, and earns Pop the Cork. For the first few cups, a podium finish can unlock the next cup, but this route calls for first place because you need wins for the rival progression and the final achievement. Advancing to a new menu entry does not mean the earlier cup is fully cleared. How to race consistently Use Time Attack for one problem course. Replaying a whole cup to practice its last corner wastes time. Learn the troublesome route on its own, including which item boxes and boost pads are safe to reach without crossing the track at a bad angle. Steer before boosting. Nitro is most valuable on a clean exit or straight section. Firing it while the kart is pointed toward a barrier usually turns a recoverable corner into a crash. A boost pad is optional when it sends you directly into barrels. Rings are repairs. They restore kart durability. If the endurance bar is low, a safe line through rings can be worth more than a slightly shorter route. Do not ignore them just because you are concentrating on position. Use the right item for the gap. Rockets help against a racer ahead, but a bend or obstacle can interfere with the shot. The blue lightning pickup, Satellite Laser, hits the other racers regardless of a large gap. That makes it especially valuable when the Dragon Fighter has pulled away. Read the minimap in fog. Fog changes visibility, not the basic route you learned in the cup. Check the map before the corner arrives and commit to the turn early enough to avoid panic steering. Keep racing after losing the lead. The final rival has a strong kart, but getting passed is not an automatic loss. Preserve durability, collect a useful item, and take the next sequence cleanly. Restarting after every small mistake prevents you from learning the later parts of the course. Before you leave Dragon Kart Check the ring exchange. The Pretty Microphone costs 200 rings and is useful for Idol's weapon-upgrade path. Rise Up! costs 2,500 rings and adds 50 points to all six personality traits when used. There are also stat boosters and job manuals, so leftover rings still have value after the racing achievement. If a rival marker fails to appear, step away from the building and return, confirm you actually won the required cup, and check that the previous rival is finished. After Akira, the answer is Chapter 15, not grinding more Time Attack runs.
