Like a Dragon Gaiden: How to unlock Amon and stop him healing through your damage Amon can make a fully upgraded Kiryu look underpowered if you keep attacking while his healing mechanic is active. Gaiden gives you two Amon fights, with different rules: Tetsu is a team battle in the Coliseum, then Gai is a one-on-one fight where you can finally use the healing items in your inventory. Here is the route through both, including the unlocks that are easy to miss. Unlock Path to the Strongest Reach Platinum at the Castle by getting the Akame Network to level 20 and winning three Gold-rank Coliseum matches. The Four Kings storyline begins during Chapter 4 when you leave the Castle after taking control of it. Finish the four challenge fights against Dan Brody, Kunimitsu Samejima, JUSTICE and Kiyoshi Ugajin. You do not need to clear every Akame request to unlock Amon. You do need the relevant Coliseum storyline and every required Coliseum event. Mizorogi's Big Dreams is not part of that unlock requirement. After the Four Kings, return to Akame and complete Operation Family Welfare. That unlocks Four Kings, Four Fights in the Platinum Special Event list. Clear it, finish the other matches across Tournament, Hell Rumble, Hell Team Rumble and Special Event, then clear the Minamida Grand Prix. Path to the Strongest follows. If one Special Event is missing, check the sponsors rather than grinding random fights indefinitely. The Silver, Gold and Platinum sponsored events require all fights in the preceding rank and a conversation with the corresponding sponsor. The Try and Hit Me and gambling events also involve invitations and NPC conversations. A previously cleared event can become locked again between invitations, so check its completion record rather than assuming the padlock erased your win. Prepare the clan for Tetsu Speak to the gold robot beside Coliseum reception when the challenge becomes available. This is still an arena match, so inventory healing is unavailable. Build your team around that restriction. I'd aim for level 20 and bond level 3 on the fighters you actually use. Toru Higashi and KATSUWO supply team healing. Kaito and Super Guard Machine give you durable front-line options. Chicken Man, Sheep Man, Sugiura and Keita Kuroyanagi are useful offensive picks. You do not need the paid Majima, Saejima and Daigo pack to win. Tetsu arrives with ten other robots. Clear those robots before spending the whole fight hammering the gold boss. Each removal reduces incoming attacks and lets more of your surviving team concentrate on the remaining targets. Watch for Ultimate Attacks from the lesser robots as well as Tetsu's sweeping laser, rockets and machine gun. Standing in the gunfire while you finish a combo is a particularly expensive mistake. Use Agent's crowd damage while enemies are bunched together and spend your team abilities instead of leaving them ready. If time expires with most of your team alive, concentrate on Attack upgrades and fighter levels. If everyone falls apart early, improve healing and durability before another attempt. Restock before Gai Gai waits at the Castle helipad after Tetsu. You have time to leave and prepare. Make a manual save, restore your Heat and bring both health recovery and Heat recovery. Staminans are especially convenient because they replenish both. Buy Kiryu's major Attack and Health upgrades, and unlock several Heat Actions you know how to trigger. Repeating one Heat Action gives diminishing damage, so a broader moveset matters more than having one favourite animation. Tiger Drop is another strong option if you already know the timing. I'd practise it elsewhere rather than learn it while Amon is healing himself. If you only want the completion, lowering the difficulty does not invalidate the Amon trophy or achievement. Remove the opening healing drones At the start, Gai forms a heart-shaped cloud of drones overhead. That formation replenishes his health. Switch to Agent, activate Extreme Heat and summon your own Hornets to destroy it. Keep Agent active until your drones finish the job, because changing to Yakuza removes your summoned drones. Once the healing formation is gone, take short openings rather than committing to a long string into his armour. When Spider catches you, break out immediately and move away from the explosive follow-up. Roll clear of the purple explosive rings and keep track of the caltrops he leaves on the floor. Those hazards make blindly chasing him much less safe. The later attacking drone swarm is different from the opening healing formation. Guard against it rather than treating every drone appearance as a reason to abandon your position and sprint around the arena. Finish the red-aura phase without trading hits When Gai powers up with a red aura near the end, his connected attacks heal him. This is why the last stretch can seem endless: you deal damage, accept a combo in return, then have to remove the same health again. Keep space, let him finish an attack, punish briefly and disengage. When he charges the ground-punch explosion, move out of its area instead of trying to finish your combo. Refill Heat as needed and use different available Heat Actions to deliver damage during protected animations. A Yakuza running kick followed by its Heat Action is one useful setup. If your Tiger Drop timing is reliable, this is a good place to use it. Gai's defeat awards The World's Strongest and the War God Talisman, which gradually restores Heat when equipped. The practical difference between a clean finish and a drawn-out one is how often you let him land that late-phase retaliation.
