Jo Amon in Yakuza 6 has a different unlock rule from the one people often remember from the earlier games. You only need two specific substory chains before his finale invitation: Sodachi's #24 and Saigo's #50. The other substories are still needed for platinum, but they aren't all required just to fight him.
For Sodachi, finish the RIZAP introduction, beat him outside the gym, and find him for the additional street fights. His final invitation to Children's Park requires Chapter 6.
For Saigo, take a Bento Lunch Set (Pork) from Kamurocho to the man near Onomichi's Ropeway Station. Beat him, find him for the later roaming fights, and complete his final challenge once Clan Creator has opened in Chapter 5.
Then progress through the finale's Millennium Tower section and talk to Nagumo on New Serena's roof. Check for Amon's message near the elevator. The taxi gains Amon's Island as a destination. If you're still earlier in the finale, finishing those two substories by itself won't skip the story trigger.
Before going, save separately, equip proper combat gear, and stock health and Heat restoration. Raising Kiryu's stats beyond 200 is good preparation; it is not another invitation requirement. If you're doing all achievements anyway, taking him closer to 300 and buying the important combat skills makes this safer.
An Attack Up vending-machine drink before the taxi trip is useful. Bring Staminan or Tauriner for Heat and enough health restoration that one bad exchange doesn't end the attempt. Amon Defeated allows any difficulty, so Easy is a valid choice if the goal is the achievement.
The opening is a straightforward fight against a fast opponent. Use short punishes, parries, well-timed Tiger Drops, or a running dropkick as he approaches. Don't stand in front of him completing a long combo after he has already started his own.
The fight changes as drones appear. At first, they mostly interrupt you and make it harder to concentrate on Amon. More arrive as his health falls. Robot vacuums then join the arena and explode after beeping.
Listen for the loud warning that the drones are converging. Get away immediately rather than trying to land one extra hit. Being caught by the cluster can turn one mistake into a chain of explosions.
Later, Amon uses a spinning attack that can hit repeatedly and stun. Back off when that starts. The swarm is dangerous enough without being stuck beside him during it.
Near the final quarter of his health, he puts up a shield that greatly reduces damage. The intended way to remove it is to approach an explosive vacuum, wait for it to start beeping, pick it up, and throw it at Amon. Keep enough distance to avoid getting caught in the blast yourself. Don't keep hitting the shield for normal damage and assume your upgrades stopped working.
For a more forgiving approach, use Extreme Heat and restore Heat as it runs out. Repeating Knee and the other purchased Extreme Heat attacks can take large chunks of health on Easy. Keep watching the timer and your health; taking your attention off the arena when the mode ends is an easy way to lose a fight that was going well.
If you're close to winning, play the last stretch just as carefully as the first. The remaining health bar doesn't make the explosive hazards weaker. Break the shield, wait for a safe opening, and finish the fight.
Defeating him completes #51, earns Amon Defeated, and recruits him for Clan Creator. His island duel and the clan's Amon Army missions are separate activities. Clearing one does not automatically clear the other.
