YAKUZA 5 REMASTERED: HARUKA'S IDOL JOBS, DANCE STORY, YOKO & NOA AMON
A practical route with the job answer keys and the missable decision that matters. Story spoilers follow.
DO THESE THINGS IN THIS ORDER
1. Learn the concert, street dance, and handshake controls in Part 3 Chapter 1.
2. Use a mix of lessons, jobs, and street dance battles to improve all four idol stats. Basic Skill follows level, Singing improves with lessons/performances, Appeal with jobs, and Performance mainly with dance battles.
3. Win the first Princess League round, then finish Yoko's training. The last reward keeps Climax Heat full, so there is no benefit to stopping her training just because the gauge is already charged.
4. Follow Akari's dance-story messages through the final event in Part 3 Chapter 4.
5. Win the Princess League final. Do not decline to perform in the dressing room.
6. Save some unfinished jobs for the late-game level-cap breakthrough if you want Level 25 without excessive street-battle grinding.
7. In Finale Chapter 4, obtain Haruka's breakthrough, finish the remaining agency jobs, and pursue Noa Amon.
MUST-KNOW MISSABLE / INVENTORY WARNINGS
At the final Princess League dressing room, Yamaura asks whether you are ready. Saying “no” skips the last round and makes T-Set win by default. The story continues, but the final song does not unlock for karaoke, blocking 100% completion on that route. Keep a separate save and perform the final.
Haruka's inventory is separate. You can collect Sotenbori locker keys as her, but avoid opening lockers full of items intended for the men. Open them as Akiyama while character switching is available in Part 3 Chapter 3. Later, the keys become isolated again when switching stops. Items retained by Haruka at the end of her story are unavailable to the men until Premium New Game/Premium Adventure.
When Haruka learns Because I Have You in Part 3 Chapter 4, telling Yamaura you are ready for the final locks her into that sequence. Clear the local business you want done first. You do play her again later, so saving some jobs for later experience is intentional, not a permanently missed opportunity.
HOW THE THREE PERFORMANCE SYSTEMS DIFFER
Concerts / live events: follow the song's rhythm prompts. Agency concerts have three listed objectives; meet those instead of treating any finish as full success. Princess League is competitive, so build stats and use Idol Heat. Use Climax when prompted after the dance interlude. Practicing the same song in lessons is the direct preparation for its battle version.
Street dance battles: select the correct lane with the directional controls and hit the notes with the face buttons. Heat rises during play. Once it passes the marker, L1/LB opens Dance Heat when the bomb countdown is not active. Equip up to four moves BEFORE the battle. Healing moves keep Haruka alive; Rainbow Star moves add score; the Heart-series moves damage the opponent. Solo dance jobs fill a performance meter and do not offer the usual opponent-based Heat options.
Handshake events: hold the handshake button and answer comments with the matching color using directional inputs. Release before the remover forcibly drags the fan away, which lowers satisfaction. Hold long enough to earn satisfaction, then let go when the remover turns red. Pink-coated fans are especially valuable: spend an L1/LB smile to push the remover back and prolong those handshakes. The tutorial gives three smiles, but later jobs can provide fewer.
AGENCY PROGRESSION
Jobs increase Appeal, agency experience, fans, and wages. Withdraw earnings at an ATM. New jobs depend on earlier jobs, agency level, and story progress; a temporarily empty board is not proof you are done.
Agency unlocks by level:
2 Publicity; 3 Media; 4 Lessons; 5 Media; 6 Publicity; 7 Lessons; 8 Media; 9 Publicity; 10 Media; 11 Media; 12 Lessons.
Trendy Idol asks you to play every job type, not to finish every individual listing. For the complete route and Noa unlock, keep working through the agency's jobs, including the story schedule. The keys below cover the free jobs; Princess League and cutscene-only work advance through the story.
EVERY FREE-JOB FAMILY
Handshake listings:
• Idol Handshake Event in Sotenbori 1–2.
• Magazine Handshake Event 1–2; the second is tougher.
• Handshake Event in Sotenbori 1–3; the third is tougher.
Use the handshake technique above for all seven.
PrintCircle with an Idol: pose exactly when the countdown reaches zero to create sparkles. Any pose/background works, but you need at least one sparkling pose with EACH fan for full success. A good photograph with only one fan is not enough.
An Idol Comes to Sotenbori 1–5: perform and satisfy the three objectives. The first two use the initial song, 3–4 use Loneliness Loop, and 5 uses Because I Have You.
Soten Town Haruka Mini-Concert 1–2: So Much More!, then Loneliness Loop. Meet the three objectives.
Concert Event in Sotenbori 1–3: So Much More!, Loneliness Loop, then Because I Have You.
Dancing with an Idol in Sotenbori 1–2: solo hip-hop, then solo house.
Soten Town Haruka Jazz Dance Event: solo jazz.
Dance Event in Sotenbori 1–2: fill the solo performance meter; don't wait for an opponent or Heat attack prompt.
Running Girl episodes 1–5: press L1/LB and R1/RB as each lights up. Follow the rhythm rather than mashing both. Good performance accelerates the rhythm. Episode 2 is longer than the first, episode 3 has tighter time pressure, and episode 4 is long despite its generous timer. Finish all five, not just one representative episode.
Refuse to Lose, four games:
• Pool: win nine-ball.
• Bowling: win a three-frame match.
• Darts: win count-up.
• Air Hockey: win the easy match; build Heat with L2 and use Triangle Heat Smashes on PlayStation.
These are relatively weak opponents, but you must play the actual minigame. Winning pays ¥30,000 per event.
Fishing Fever, Osaka Edition: river fishing with supplied bait. Catches also count toward fishing progress. Watch the bobber and hook when it submerges; having lots of bait does not guarantee a catch.
Catcher Challenge: six UFO Catcher attempts. Aim to collect multiple prizes. The reference suggests two or more for the best result but does not establish that as a verified exact threshold. Catching none costs an item, so save beforehand if you want to protect valuable inventory.

ALL SIX DANCE BATTLE STORY STEPS
1. Meet Akari after Haruka's first night's sleep. Complete the tutorial battle.
2. Battle Akari again while tracking down Christina during the story.
3. Follow Akari's text to the north riverside path behind Zuboraya. Defeat Maki of the Hipsters in the normal-difficulty battle.
4. Follow the next message to Bunzaemon Mall. Defeat Aya of the House Queens. Her health is high, but the chart is normal difficulty. Afterward, go to Don Quijote with Akari and Yui. Speak to both girls to advance; purchases are optional.
5. Visit the southwest parking lot beside the lockers and defeat Judy of Jazzy Blue in jazz. Then go to Iwao Bridge to speak to Akari about quitting.
6. In Part 3 Chapter 4, enter the event hall southeast of Iwao Bridge. Look for the white door with an exclamation mark. Defeat Akari in the last normal-difficulty battle.
Completing this story earns A Bond Between Dancers and makes Mittsu available near Tsuruhashi Fugetsu in the northeast. His Free Dance Battles let you rematch story/job opponents. They can be harder than the original story fights; they are not an uncompleted seventh story mission.
YOKO: ALL SIX TRAINING ERRANDS
After the first Princess League win, find Yoko beneath the north side of Iwao Bridge.
1. Secret to Good Health. Visit the pharmacy on Sotenbori Street and ask the pharmacist for “yin er.” This grants half a Climax gauge.
2. Secret to Body Care. Find the white-clad clinic owner at the south end of Bishamon Bridge. Beat his dance battle and report to Yoko. Rewards include half a gauge, another Idol Heat use, and restored health.
3. How to Look Fabulous. Try Books Ohkando opposite Kani Douraku first; the book is sold out. Go to Re-Venge Books in Bunzaemon Mall, return to Yoko, then buy Magutako's 16-piece takoyaki and bring it back. Reward: half a gauge.
4. Secret to Great Hair. Bring ¥20,000 to Hair Message Lovesong, on the east side of the street north of Dyna Chair. Reward: half a gauge.
5. Believe in Yourself. Perform So Much More! in the Kamiyama Works parking lot, then return. Rewards: another Idol Heat use and half a gauge.
6. Dream On. Speak to Momiyama at the clinic south of Bishamon Bridge, then return and sing for Yoko. The final reward keeps the Climax gauge at maximum.
NOA AMON: PREPARATION, UNLOCK, BOTH FIGHTS
First obtain the Rainbow Prism Star Revelation: complete Starbound, return to Iwao Bridge, inspect Ulala, and correctly enter the three prompts. This unlocks the score-boosting Rainbow line. Buy stronger Rainbow upgrades when available and equip one alongside a strong Heal Me move. A powerful move you have not assigned to a button is useless in battle.
For Level 25, Kiryu must first finish Sosuke's training and fund his journey to Tokyo. Resolve the Komaki events at Ryugujo, leaving and returning as needed. Each character then gets their own breakthrough. Haruka's is a dance battle against Sotaro rather than a fight against both Komakis. Do this before collecting Noa's large experience reward.
Unlock: in Finale Chapter 4, finish all Haruka's agency jobs, return to Sotenbori as Haruka, and check outside Dyna Chair. A man in sunglasses gives you Noa's letter. This is a secret challenge, not one of Haruka's numbered substories.
First encounter: southwest Sotenbori parking lot. Noa's street dance battle is Hard. You must both survive and win on points. Spend Heat on Rainbow score boosts when healthy, switch to healing before health becomes critical, and concentrate on lane changes rather than sacrificing an entire phrase for one missed note.
Second encounter: after winning, take a taxi to Soten TV. Face Noa in a concert battle using the Hard chart of So Much More! Prepare by practicing that difficulty in lessons. Use the additional Idol Heat charges from Yoko and trigger Climax at its opportunity. This is a concert contest, so your street-battle healing loadout is not the solution to the second fight.
Reward: 50,000 XP. Winning without a breakthrough wastes the opportunity to apply that experience beyond the old cap.
FINAL CHECKLIST
• All available agency story/free jobs finished, not just every broad job type.
• All six dance-story steps finished.
• All six Yoko lessons finished.
• Princess League final performed and won; final karaoke song unlocked.
• Rainbow Revelation learned and useful Dance Heat moves equipped.
• Noa's street dance AND concert battle won.
• ATM earnings collected.
