YAKUZA 5 REMASTERED: EVERY AKIYAMA SUBSTORY
Akiyama has 15 listed substories. The first group becomes available in Part 3, Chapter 3, after his story encounter with Saigo. Geriatric Dance-Off depends on Dancin' Akiyama, two more stories wait until Chapter 4, and the last two require the finale.
Here is the whole route, including the longer answer sequences. Save before the performance and dialogue tests if you want the best rewards.
PART 3, CHAPTER 3
1. OKONOMIYAKI PERFORMER
Find the okonomiyaki stand near Sotenbori's southeast save point. Speak to the owner and defeat the men who interrupt. This finishes the substory and sets up Akiyama's Revelation. Return to observe the performer afterward for the actual Revelation; the introductory fight alone does not teach the move.
2. HAGGLE WARS
Outside Re-Venge Books in Bunzaemon Mall, talk to the electronics salesman. After the woman intervenes, follow her haggling lesson and choose these replies in order:
- Nice shop you have here.
- You're a pretty generous guy.
- Pardon me, but were you an actress?
- Your selection here's brilliant.
- Has this shop been here a long time?
- You're an exemplary merchant.
- I'll take them.
Finish the shopping exercise to receive Fitness Gear.
3. DANCIN' AKIYAMA
Outside Bunzaemon Mall, rescue the couple from the yakuza. Speak to Hide after the fight and answer “I didn't say that, yo.” Take and win his dance challenge. Akiyama uses his own dance moves for this encounter. Finish the conversation afterward to collect Toughness ZZ and Toughness Emperor.
4. A MONEYLENDER'S PRINCIPLES
Speak to the man on the railing on Iwao Bridge's west side. Follow the lead to the building near Riichi Towers Mahjong on the west side of town. Enter and defeat the men inside. You receive the Angler's Hook, so keep and equip it when tackling the fishing list rather than selling it as an ordinary accessory.
5. NEW IN TOWN
Talk to the two businessmen outside Tsuruhashi Fugetsu. Defeat the man who challenges you, then complete the pursuit when he flees. You need both the fight and the chase to finish. Reward: Tattered Scarf.
6. A STUBBORN OLD MAN
Near Tsuruhashi Fugetsu, approach the man in a white uniform confronting a gangster. Join the fight and defeat the attackers. The older man assists, making this a useful team Heat Action opportunity. The reward is a Zero Jewel, worth saving for roulette completion or later money preparation.
7. THE CURSED PRINTCIRCLE
Talk to the two girls in purple near the northwest save point. Go to Club SEGA and inspect the right-hand PrintCircle booth. Wait for the girls to leave, use the booth, then chase and catch the apparent ghost. Return to the girls at Club SEGA to finish and receive a Sacrifice Stone.
8. SUBSIDIZED RELATIONSHIPS
Speak to the girl waiting on the east side of Bishamon Bridge. Go to the south part of the map, just west of Karaokekan, and confront the man with her. Win that fight and the following fight. Finish the conversation to receive ¥1,000.
9. A QUIRKY IDOL
Walk near the southwest lockers until the young woman bumps into Akiyama. Answer Yamaura's call and meet Strawberry Maya at Ashitaba Park. Identify her first appointment as “A magazine interview.”
For the interview, use “Maya didn't say that, pon!” and “Maya isn't acting, pon!” Choose “Love to See You Smile” for the next appointment. Its responses are “The Strawberry Kingdom is real, pon!” and “It's the traditional Strawberry greeting, pon!”
The quiz deliberately wants WRONG answers to preserve her act. For the ten statements, select:
1. French Revolution before Russian Revolution: False.
2. French toast did not originate in France: False.
3. Na means natrogen: True.
4. Legal drinking age is 18: True.
5. July ends on the 31st: False.
6. First computer ran on batteries: True.
7. Idol and idle are both people: True.
8. Dolphins are mammals: False.
9. Multiplication by zero gives zero: False.
10. Osaka is bigger than Tokyo: True.
Those are game-script answers, not factual claims. Finish by telling Maya “Carry on for your fans,” then win the ensuing fight. Rewards include a Staminan Royale and Red Jewel.
10. GIVING UP ON A DREAM
Talk to the woman in the white coat outside Infomen. At the office, select and finish all three proposed tests in any order. For becoming a number-one hostess, go to the hostess club near Le Marche and watch the result. For debt collection, visit the marked office in the southwest. The physical-work proposal is resolved in conversation and needs no separate job minigame. Work through all three choices and their follow-up dialogue to end the story.
11. GERIATRIC DANCE-OFF
Complete Dancin' Akiyama first. Find the dancing older woman near Kamiyama Works, accept the challenge, and win. This is a separate dance battle and pays ¥1,000.
PART 3, CHAPTER 4
12. THE STALKER
Speak to Yamaura at Dyna Chair about Haruka's stalker. Go to Haruka's apartment. Pursue the businessman, then pursue the man in the jersey, and finally defeat the gangster. Work through both chases and the fight to receive a Royal Joker Card.
13. MONEY AND PRIDE
Finish Akiyama's other twelve Sotenbori substories, including The Stalker, during or after Chapter 4. Wait for the text announcing Yamori's visit, then return to Akiyama's office. After the long conversation, find him at the southeast taxi stand. Follow him into the building and defeat the men inside to finish the confrontation.
FINALE
14. BAD BOYS
Once Akiyama is back in Kamurocho, speak to Saida on the south side of Millennium Tower. Tell him he looks unhip and offer help. Visit Elise to the southeast and speak to Miyuu. For her research suggestion, inspect the magazines in the front window of the nearby Poppo. Return to Saida and follow the makeover scenes. Find him outside Elise afterward for the final conversation and Durable Cloth reward.
15. TREATS FROM ALL OVER
During the final chapter of the finale, find Ueyama near Pronto on Nakamichi Street. Agree to suggest new Kushikatsu Daruma dishes. Return to New Serena and consult the other men: choose Mentaiko from Kiryu, Salmon from Saejima, and Chicken wings from Shinada. Give Ueyama the recommendations, leave the area, and return after his marker reappears. The follow-up completes the story and gives ¥20,000 plus a Cod Roe Blackjack.
Do one more thing afterward: revisit Kushikatsu Daruma in Sotenbori. This substory adds three menu items, and you still have to order them for food completion. The substory checkmark doesn't automatically clear the new dishes.
With all 15 finished, Akiyama's list is ready for the shared Amon finale. His Saigo training, hostess relationship, IF8, and other completion work are separate lists.
