YAKUZA 5 REMASTERED: EVERY SAEJIMA SUBSTORY Saejima has 15 listed substories. Two begin in his opening Kamurocho section, one starts in the mountain village, and the rest belong to Tsukimino. The early Kamurocho pair can also be finished when he returns during the finale, so missing them before prison does not ruin the run. For the Tsukimino entries without a separate trigger below, check during his city free roam as the story advances. All his remaining city substories are available by the day before the Snow Festival. Don't assume every marker should appear on the first arrival. THE KAMUROCHO PAIR 1. A FAMILIAR DOJO During Saejima's opening Kamurocho visit, go to Sodachi Dojo north of Mach Bowl in the northwest. Talk to Sodachi and agree to the training fight. Defeat the students to finish. If you have already moved beyond this opening, return as Saejima during the finale. 2. A SPECIAL PLACE Finish A Familiar Dojo, then walk far enough away for the area to reset; going toward M Store works. Return to the dojo's vicinity and find the injured student outside. Enter the dojo and defeat the armed attackers. This is a direct follow-up, not a second marker that necessarily appears while you are still standing at the first conversation. THE MOUNTAIN VILLAGE 3. BIG CITY DREAMIN' After doing some hunting or leaving and returning to the village, speak to the young man near the fishing spot by the stairs to Nishina's home. He leaves for Tsukimino. Leave and return to the village again, then speak to his mother to receive her letter. In Tsukimino, visit Apocalypse Bar near Lavender Street. After the unsuccessful inquiry inside, head east along the street and defeat the men involved. That ends the story. Simply meeting the son is only its first stage. TSUKIMINO FREE-ROAM STORIES 4. SET FREE Go west of Ebisu Pawn and approach the car accident. The encounter becomes a bear fight. Defeat it to receive ¥30,000 and finish the entry. Have healing ready before investigating rather than treating the crash as a conversation-only event. 5. SANTA HUNTERS Head west from Polaris and investigate Santa's predicament. First, escape the children by reaching the marked destination in the chase. Then defeat the actual troublemakers who appear. Both parts belong to the same story; reaching the chase marker is not its end. 6. GOURMET TRAVELER Find Yamashita in the alley west of Curry Shop S, around the middle of Chuo Boulevard. Talk to her and go through the restaurant visit. After she heads toward the mountain, take a taxi back to the hunting village and talk to the villager who explains where she went. The rescue proceeds through the event. Obtain Deer Meat and bring it for the stew to finish. The reward is Celebrity Perfume, so don't sell your last piece of Deer Meat before completing the meal. 7. SLIP AND SLIDE At Central Station Boulevard and Nakatsuki Street, approach the fallen ramen deliveryman. Save first if you want the fully resolved result. Move with short, gentle inputs: holding the stick makes Saejima accelerate on the ice. Take the ramen to the customer without falling, avoiding the other slipping pedestrians along the route. Both outcomes count toward substory completion and give a Balance Bracelet, but a clean delivery earns the better completion mark. 8. THE ULTIMATE WARMTH On the north side of the eastern end of Tsukasa Street, talk to the man in the white coat and take part in his clothing test. When the prototype overheats, use the fire extinguisher. Hold Fighting Stance to aim and Heavy Attack to spray the flames. Finish extinguishing the fire to complete the event and receive ¥50,000. 9. THE FROZEN CITY In the alley east of Don Quijote, speak to the man in the doorway. Buy ramen or yakisoba from Don Quijote and give it to him. After hearing his plans to leave, go to the east side of Main Street in the northern part of town. Defeat the men shaking him down. He gives you High-Grade Cigarettes. 10. SNOW FESTIVAL PERFORMER Find the brightly dressed performer on the east side of Main Street Park. Talk to him about inspiration, examine the nearby snowman, then speak to him again. That completes the story and sets up Saejima's Revelation. Remember to return for the Revelation itself; finishing its prerequisite and learning the move are separate steps. 11. SNOW FESTIVAL MAP Talk to the man in yellow on the west side of Main Street Park. Inspect the snow sculptures if you want to work it out yourself. His answers, in order, are: a magic girl; some seals; a whale; a fox. Giving all four correctly earns a Mystery Stone, which you should keep for crafting. AFTER THE BAR AMBITIOUS CASINO EVENTS 12. THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL After visiting the casino at Bar Ambitious, go outside and find the girl selling matches. Buy a matchbook, leave the area, and return. Give her convenience-store food. You can finish by offering to buy the remaining matches, or help her sell them. Helping with the selling earns a Protective Amulet. The second visit and food are part of the progression, so don't stop after the first purchase. 13. TRUTH AND LIES After entering the casino, talk to the two hostesses near the save point by Lavender Street. Next, speak to the workers outside Don Quijote. Then head south down Central Station Boulevard and listen to the pair of detectives. After gathering all three pieces of information about Himura, go to Ramen Village in the southeast and win the fight. Follow that conversation order so the last scene has its prerequisites. 14. PURSUER AND PURSUED After the casino raid, return inside Bar Ambitious and talk to the drunken man at the bar. Begin walking away so he calls after you, then talk again. Go outside with him, follow when he runs down the street, and defeat the men at the next encounter. The walk-away step is needed to move the conversation along. THE DAY BEFORE THE SNOW FESTIVAL 15. WINTER COMBAT Approach the southwest corner of the park's eastern block. The snowball-arena introduction begins, and the organizer explains the activity. That introduction completes the substory and unlocks Winter Combat. Winning all six snowball challenges is separate minigame completion; you do not need all six merely to clear this listed story. Once these 15 are marked complete, Saejima's substory portion of the Amon requirement is finished. Check his hunting missions, contracts, training, Revelation, and minigames separately rather than treating them as additional missing substories.
