Yakuza 4 Remastered: Hostess Maker, Fashionista and the business cards
This is the older hostess-training activity, not the table-management game from Yakuza 0 or Kiwami 2. Akiyama recruits one woman at a time, changes her presentation, trains her skills and gets her to number one at Elise. There are three recruits, and finishing them too quickly can cost you Fashionista.
The activity opens late in Akiyama's part after the story training with Lily. Answer the manager's call and return to Elise. If the main story carries you into the next protagonist before you start, you can return during the finale. It isn't permanently lost just because Akiyama's opening part ended.
Where to find the recruits
• Hiyori: outside Millennium Tower. Watch the conversation with her father, then follow her west and around the corner.
• Kyoko: inside Bantam with her bandmates.
• Nanami: inside Cuez Bar with her boyfriend.
Recruit one, finish her training and wait for the manager's next call before starting another. You can change her stage name, so keep track of who you selected if your own names no longer match a guide.
How a shift works
Each full shift has three floor sections. Walk around, read the customer requests, return backstage and adjust the trainee. You'll be allowed back once you've listened to enough of the room. Repeat that process through the shift instead of assuming the first style request applies all night.
There are four appearance styles: Cute, Refined, Gorgeous and Flashy. The pink diagram shows how the outfit performs. Her actual training stats are Looks, Smarts and Charisma. Those are separate systems. A visually appropriate dress doesn't automatically raise her conversation skills to S rank.
Keep motivation high and stress low. A trainee with excellent skills can still perform badly if you overwork her. If stress fills up, she can miss the following shift.
The basic training routine
At first, use two different skill lessons and Free Time. Don't select the same training twice during one shift; repeating it causes failure.
Once the advanced options open, Lecture → Free Time → Relax is a reliable baseline. Lecture develops all three skills, then the later choices manage the stress it creates. If motivation needs attention, adjust with Encourage, but don't pile stress onto a trainee who is already close to the limit.
Once her three skills reach S, more identical lessons won't solve an appearance mismatch. Read the floor again, change the style to match the current customers and check motivation/stress. If she keeps sitting at rank two, this is the first thing I'd inspect.
Useful outfit setups
Save separate appearances rather than rebuilding the entire outfit every round. These are practical targets; some pieces unlock only after more shifts.
Cute: Miniskirt Dress, short hair, the first eyebrow style, second eyelash style, first eyeliner style, pink/light makeup, Double Headband, Heart earrings, Cute Nails, Simple Watch and Jewel Bracelet. Leave the necklace off. Use the appearance graph to check the result as pieces unlock.
Refined: Charming Bare Top, standard or medium hair, first eyebrows, minimal eye makeup, Headband, Petite Earrings, Elegant Necklace, Simple Watch and Pearl Bracelet. Keep glitter and colored contacts off, and use restrained lipstick and blush.
Gorgeous/Flashy: Mermaid Dress, Curly Updo, stronger eye makeup and glitter, colored contacts, Double Headband, Showy Rings earrings, Chain Necklace, Gorgeous Nails, Simple Watch and Jewel Bracelet. This setup can cover both of those demands well, but still check the graph before assuming your substitute pieces behave identically.
Clothing and accessories are bought from the club's own funds, not directly out of Akiyama's pocket. Purchased clothing can be reused. Hair and nail changes can cost money again, so avoid unnecessary restyling when an existing saved look already fits.

Wardrobe additions are tied to completed shifts. The late additions include Long Two-piece Dress, Cami Dress and Cache-Coeur. Cosplay clothing is introduced through the activity's event. Don't finish all three women with only the opening selection purchased.
Keep an earlier save. Ideally secure Fashionista during the second trainee, leaving the third as insurance. If you're still waiting for outfits, stop using your best training and appearance combination. Run more ordinary shifts with a poor outfit and little training so the wardrobe can expand without immediately ending the activity.
When you own all 23, verify the trophy before graduating the final woman. If it hasn't registered, review the list for an outfit you merely previewed or received as a setup rather than purchasing during normal training. Save, restart and check again before assuming you need to rebuy every color. Reports of alternate-color workarounds aren't a reason to make those a requirement for everybody.
Cosplay and missing-trainee events
During the cosplay event, wear the actual event clothing. A normal dress with bright makeup isn't a cosplay outfit. Meet the customer target over the required sections; if it takes more than one shift, keep the relevant outfit and respond to the room's additional style requests.
If a trainee goes missing, check her original location: Hiyori near Millennium Tower, Kyoko at Bantam and Nanami at Cuez Bar. You haven't lost her permanently.
Getting number one
Have the three training stats developed, low stress, good motivation and a style that matches the current floor. Keep adapting during all three sections. Once she reaches number one, choose her final appearance and finish the manager's conversation. She then becomes a hostess another eligible protagonist can visit.
Business Card Hunter and dating are separate
There are ten hostesses across the three clubs:
• Shine: Rio, Himeka and Shizuka.
• Jewel: Noa, Erena, Chihiro and Maya.
• Elise: Nanami, Hiyori and Kyoko after their management training.
Akiyama's ordinary club contacts are Rio, Noa and Erena. Tanimura's are Himeka and Chihiro. Kiryu's are Shizuka and Maya. At Elise, Tanimura visits Nanami, while Kiryu visits Hiyori and Kyoko. Akiyama doesn't visit his own club as a customer, and Saejima doesn't do the hostess visits.
For Business Card Hunter, the initial cards count. You don't need every upgraded final card. You do need to visit the Elise graduates after training them, so management completion alone isn't enough.
For full hostess completion, raise each relationship to twenty hearts, finish the final event and wait for the follow-up message. Leaving as soon as the gauge first hits twenty can leave the storyline unfinished. Wear relationship-friendly accessories if you have them, use affordable preferred food/drinks and avoid assuming the most expensive champagne is necessary every time.
For The Joy of Gifting, give a suitable dress from Milestone and return later. Strapless dresses are liked by Rio, Noa, Erena, Shizuka, Hiyori and Kyoko. Miniskirt dresses suit Himeka, Chihiro, Nanami and Maya. The trophy needs her to wear the gift, so an expensive non-wearable present won't do the same job.
The thing to keep straight is that training, business cards, gifts and full relationships are four different objectives. Finish the part you're actually chasing, and secure Fashionista before closing the one activity that can't simply be reopened afterward.
