Yakuza 4 Remastered: all 12 Revelations and the correct answers
Revelations turn Kamurocho's strange little street scenes into new combat moves. There are 12 in total: three for Akiyama, four for Saejima, three for Tanimura and two for Kiryu.
Get the introduction for your current character first. Standing in the right place will not help if that character has not unlocked the system.
• Akiyama: meet Mack during Part 1 Chapter 4. The rooftop scene teaches the process.
• Saejima: meet Master during Part 2 Chapter 3 and receive the Woodcarving Set. Ken-san, beside Master, provides scene hints.
• Tanimura: meet Nair at the beginning of Part 3 Chapter 2. Her introduction unlocks his Revelations.
• Kiryu: visit Komaki at Dragon Palace after his invitation. This is the prerequisite for Kiryu's two scenes.
HOW TO TRIGGER ONE
Find the scene with the correct character, enter first-person view and focus on the person specified below. Use the Look prompt, complete the on-screen button inputs, then choose the matching observation.
The answer matters. Finishing the button sequence alone does not award the move. If you miss a prompt or choose incorrectly, leave the area and return to retry.
Several scenes teach different moves to different characters. Revisit the scene with each listed character and use that character's answer.
AKIYAMA
1. Essence of Triple Strike
Scene: Mack's rooftop tutorial on the western rooftops above the Sky Finance area. Follow the subject Mack points out.
Choose: “Those leaps and bounds were something else.”
2. Essence of Comebacks
Scene: The couple in the narrow alley at Little Asia's western entrance, south of Beam. Look past the men discussing kung fu and focus on the couple.
Choose: “Hm, counterattacking after someone breaks your guard.”
3. Essence of Loin Reaving
Scene: The policewoman confronting a kidnapper on the eastern rooftops near the Pink Alley access. Focus on the policewoman.
Choose: “Right in the jewels. That's gotta hurt...”
SAEJIMA
4. Essence of Bell Ringing
Scene: Underground Parking, around space 104. Focus on the man sitting in the black car.
Choose: “Guy slammed straight into the wall.”
5. Essence of Heavy Weapons
Scene: Take a taxi to the docks and find the man in an oil drum. Focus on him.
Choose: “Somethin' that heavy's sure to do damage.”
6. Essence of Clotheslining
Scene: The man harassing a woman outside the Nakamichi Alley Poppo. Focus on the pair.
Choose: “The momentum helped him land a big hit.”
7. Essence of Smashing
Scene: The couple at Little Asia's western entrance, south of Beam. This is the same encounter used for Akiyama's Comebacks, but Saejima draws a different lesson.
Choose: “Damn, she kicked clean through his guard.”
TANIMURA
8. Essence of Guillotine Heel
Scene: Club SEGA in Theater Square. Find the couple at the UFO Catchers and focus on the man.
Choose: “Hm, he hit one toy with the other to make it fall.”
9. Essence of Ball and Chain
Scene: Hotel District, south of the taxi stand, around the vending machines near Hotel Volescia. Focus on the homeless man, not the woman nearby.
Choose: “Backwards between the legs?”
10. Essence of Skull-Crushing
Scene: Walk west from the taxi stand at the eastern end of Park Boulevard. Focus on the young woman singing.
Choose: “He got clocked hard when he was off guard...”
KIRYU
11. Essence of Merciless Throwing
Scene: The policewoman and kidnapper on the eastern rooftops near Pink Alley. Focus on the policewoman again, this time as Kiryu.
Choose: “She really gave him the ol' one-two.”
12. Essence of Taunting
Scene: The harassment outside the Nakamichi Alley Poppo. Return as Kiryu and focus on the pair.
Choose: “A strong hit after a taunt, huh?”
IF A SCENE WILL NOT START
Check the character and introduction first, particularly Kiryu's meeting with Komaki. Then check the subject: Tanimura's Hotel District Revelation needs the homeless man, while his crane-game scene needs the male player.
If the docks scene is missing, try returning at night. If the eastern-rooftop policewoman is missing, try daylight. Leave and re-enter the area after a failed attempt instead of repeatedly examining the same spot.
Use the Revelations completion list to check your progress. The Revelation Seeker trophy/achievement only asks for three; the complete set is all 12 above. Once a move is learned, check its entry in the Abilities menu before trying to use it in combat, because learning it does not remove its activation conditions.
