Yakuza 4 Remastered: Saejima's substories
Saejima has fifteen substories, and the map is part of the challenge. Several begin in the Theater Underground, so checking the street-level question marks won't show everything. His main chain also includes jobs whose titles don't say “Brother and Sister,” even though they're required to continue that story.
Most of these begin in Part 2 Chapter 3 after establishing the hideout and meeting Master. Keep the police patrols in mind when moving between surface locations.
The full Tadashi chain
3. Brother and Sister 1
Enter the Underground Mall and let the pickpocket event play out. Ask the man toward the western end where the boy went; you can pay the ¥1,000 or fight him. Go down to the parking lot and find Tadashi near space 312 in the northeast. Follow the debt-collector sequence and win the fights outside and inside the office. You do not need to earn ¥5 million yourself to accept Saejima's role in this story.
1. Dragon Palace Bouncer
Finish Brother and Sister 1 and progress the main story far enough to have checked the West Park door. Return to the hideout for the job offer, then go to Dragon Palace. Complete the bouncer events and the fight afterward. This opens the next job, not the next numbered Brother and Sister entry immediately.
7. Bodyguard
After Dragon Palace Bouncer, speak to the suited man outside the hideout. Collect your client from the parking lot behind Millennium Tower and escort him. Three attackers come separately and head straight for the client. Intercept them early; don't get so focused on Saejima's health that you let the protected man take the hits.
4. Brother and Sister 2
Return to the hideout after Bodyguard. The next assignment takes you outside Orchid Palace Mahjong, then onto the roof. Clear the street group and the rooftop waves. Bring healing because this is a longer encounter, even if the individual enemies aren't especially difficult.
8. 25 Years
Available in Chapter 4 after Brother and Sister 2, once Minami has visited the hideout and Saejima has his next free day. Leave the Theater Underground through the northern route and take the job from Tadokoro's subordinate. Find Motoyama at the northern end of the Hotel District near the taxi stand, defeat him, then return to the hideout.
5. Brother and Sister 3
After 25 Years, return to the hideout and then meet Tadokoro at the Coliseum. Accept the unarmed Weapon Master Grand Prix condition and speak to the tournament attendant beside the counter. Win all three rounds, leave Purgatory, chase Tadokoro and defeat him. Build Saejima's charging finishers beforehand rather than treating this as a first practice session.
6. Brother and Sister 4
Return to the hideout after the previous entry. Follow Tadashi to Theater Alley, southeast of Mach Bowl. Watch the police on the way. Three fights finish the chain and earn a Seal of the Dragon.
The other Chapter 3 chains
14. Running Woman
Go to the B3 Transformer Room in the Theater Underground and rescue the woman. Return toward the Theater Square stairs for another fight, then investigate the Club Shine lead and move east into Pink Alley. Finish in the central room of Millennium Tower's basement. The final reward is a Player's Piece for baccarat, so keep it if you still need casino winnings later.
10. Mother and Child
After Running Woman and the story visit to the West Park door, speak to the suited man in the theater passage north of the Taihei lockers and accept Makiko's bodyguard job. When she disappears outside, ask the nearby white-jacketed man, head north and speak to the man in green near the parking lot. Find her in the lot and win the fight for a Diamond.
9. Speechless
Finish Mother and Child, then help Numai by the eastern side of Millennium Tower's front stairs. During his speech, approach the two suspicious punks farthest from your starting position. Defeat them to complete the assignment.
11. Nice Catch
Speak to the distressed jewelry-store employee at the docks, then the newly appearing man at the opposite corner. Get bait from the fisherman and successfully reel in three catches. The third brings up the briefcase. Short, manageable casts are fine; this is not a test of catching a rare distant fish. Defeat the man who challenges you for the case, then speak to the employee again for a Ruby.
12. The Homeless Men and the Cats
Talk to the men and cats outside the hideout. Meow, suggest milk, buy it at the Showa Street Poppo and bring it back. Follow the notes through these locations:
• B2 Theater Underground: the indicated southern room, checking its northeast wall.
• B1: the red fire-alarm panel near the escalator's northwest end.
• B2: the bookcase in the first room on the right along the southeastern route.
Win the fight and finish the cat-naming scene. This gives Underground locker key B3, which is why you won't find B3 sparkling in a random corridor. Open its locker for ¥50,000. Returning the cash to the homeless man gives you a Cat Key that can itself be sold for ¥50,000.
13. Reason for Revenge
After completing The Homeless Men and the Cats and checking the West Park door in the story, help the old man near the Theater Square underground stairs. Fight below, return to the top of the stairs, clear the reinforcements and follow the sequence to Iguchi's group. The Banker's Piece reward is another useful casino cheat item. Keep it rather than selling it for quick cash.
15. Old Yakuza, New Tricks
Intervene in Children's Park when the younger yakuza attacks the older man. Later, find the tracksuit group in Tenkaichi Alley and help the younger man. Leave the area and return for the final conversation and the Trail of the Ancient Fighter King design. Stopping immediately after the second fight leaves this unfinished.
The finale-only entry
2. Green Shadow
This one waits until the finale. Listen to the men in the theater interior above the escalator, then the men down on B2. Approach Saejima's hideout to see the creature, then investigate Children's Park's manhole. First try a Miso Paste Cucumber from M Store. After that fails, get kappamaki from Sushi Gin and bring it back. Win the chase for a Stun Gun.
The easiest way to lose track here is to jump straight from Brother and Sister 1 to looking for part 2. The actual order is Brother and Sister 1 → Dragon Palace Bouncer → Bodyguard → Brother and Sister 2 → 25 Years → Brother and Sister 3 → Brother and Sister 4. Keep that chain together and the rest of Saejima's list is much easier to account for.
