Yakuza 4 Remastered: the platinum and achievement route
The first thing to decide here is whether you're going for every trophy or every entry in the completion list. Those are different projects. Yakuza 4 doesn't make you clear its entire completion list for the platinum, but it does make you finish three story runs if you're starting from scratch and want every difficulty trophy.
There is also a platform difference: PS4 and Xbox consoles have pachinko and its trophy/achievement. The PC version removes it. Don't spend an hour looking for a working PC pachinko machine because a console guide told you to.
Here's the order I'd use.
Start on Normal. Indomitable specifically requires finishing Normal without accepting the temporary switch to Easy after repeated failures. Hard doesn't substitute for it. Keep several saves, and decline that Easy prompt if you die.
Do your main side-content run on that file. Finish the substories, build up all four characters, complete the trainers, protect Fashionista and prepare for Amon. You can finish ordinary unfinished side content in Premium Adventure. Keep your story-clear save and your cleanup save separate so you don't overwrite the wrong one.
Then use clear data for a Hard New Game+. Clearing Hard unlocks Legend. After that, use your developed clear data for Legend. Unlike Yakuza 0, this game lets you use New Game+ for the highest difficulty. Legend removes the normal retry after a Game Over, so save before every substantial story section. Healing items and sensible preparation save much more time than an unnecessary fourth run.
Ultimate Matches are accessed from the main menu after the story clear. They use their own character presets, not the equipment and inventory from your story save. They can be worked on separately from the remaining playthroughs.
The trophy you must protect
Fashionista requires one purchased outfit from each of the 23 clothing types in Hostess Maker. Different colors don't count as new types, and you don't need every accessory. You must buy the outfit and confirm the change, not just preview it.
New clothing appears as you complete shifts. If all three hostesses reach number one before you've bought everything, the activity ends. Ordinary Premium Adventure cleanup will not undo that. Keep a save before finishing the second and third women, and get the trophy before letting the third woman graduate. If you need more wardrobe unlocks, run deliberately poor shifts rather than racing the last hostess up the rankings.
Story, difficulty and character development
• The Plot Thickens, Reunited, A Detective's End, Only One Thing Left to Do... and Thank You! come from clearing the four character parts and the finale.
• Indomitable: the full Normal clear without dropping to Easy.
• Heir to the Legend: clear Legend after unlocking it through Hard.
• Ultimate Challenger: clear all 35 Ultimate Skill missions. You do not need every S rank for this trophy. S-ranking everything is the extra War God Talisman reward.
• Fearsome Foursome: reach level 20 with all four men. Substories provide plenty of experience. If someone is short, use their remaining content and first-time IF7-R victories rather than grinding weak street enemies forever. The Coliseum is another option for Kiryu and Saejima.
Substories and collectibles
• Substory Novice, Helper and Lover unlock at four, twenty and forty substories.
• Substory Champion requires all 63, including Amon. The ordinary 62 are divided between Akiyama, Saejima, Tanimura and Kiryu. Amon is the final team challenge. A checkmark instead of a star still counts as a finished substory; the star records the best outcome.
• Way of the Key Master: open five lockers. There are 100 keys across the two locker sets, but all 100 are optional for this trophy.
• Revelation Seeker: learn three Revelations. The full set contains twelve: three for Akiyama, four for Saejima, three for Tanimura and two for Kiryu.
• Kamurocho Tree Hugger: collect twenty pieces of green-glowing rubbish. Blue sparkles are locker keys. Pick rubbish up as you travel rather than saving a dedicated cleanup lap for the end.
• Memo Master: collect the tutorial Memos and then open the Memos menu. Speak to the people with blue indicators over their heads, visit the character activities and trainers, and check New Serena in the finale for the character-switching and shared-possession explanations. Don't assume that beating the story automatically collected every street tutorial.
Hostesses and character activities
• The Joy of Gifting: give a hostess wearable clothing she likes and return to see her wearing it. Buy a dress at Milestone rather than handing over an unrelated expensive gift.
• After-Work Hookup: build a hostess relationship until she invites you out after work. The first invitation comes as you approach ten hearts; leave the club and answer her call instead of staying inside and expecting another conversation to trigger it.
• Business Card Hunter: get the initial business card from all ten hostesses. That includes the three women Akiyama trains in Hostess Maker. Finishing their management training does not itself give another character the card. Visit them after they become available. The upgraded final cards aren't required.
• Fashionista: the 23 outfit types, before completing all three trainees.
• Master in Training: have one of Saejima's Fighter Maker students win the Rookie Tournament. Training all five is the deeper completion target.
• Star of the Coliseum: reach that fame title with Saejima. It is an early rank, not the final champion title, and earning a rank with Kiryu does not substitute for Saejima.
• Emblem Collector: defeat a gang leader as Kiryu, then find and fight surviving members of defeated gangs. Those survivors drop emblems. Ordinary fights while a gang is still active aren't the same thing. Keep ten emblems together until the trophy registers before exchanging them.
Money, weapons and character-specific jobs
• Walking Bank: hold ¥10,000,000 at once. This is not lifetime earnings. Let the finale combine your resources before making expensive unnecessary purchases.
• Akiyama the Hoarder: earn ¥1,000,000 while controlling Akiyama. Selling valuable plates as Akiyama is useful here.
• Saejima the Slinger: purchase five guns as Saejima. Five separate 9mm Automatic pistols at ¥120,000 each are a straightforward ¥600,000 route. Finding guns or buying them with another character doesn't meet the requirement.
• Tanimura the Gambler: acquire 10,000 casino points as Tanimura. Save a casino cheat item for him, win the points, then exchange the winnings for valuable plates if you're also building cash.
• Kiryu the Crusher: break 100 picked-up weapons as Kiryu. Use street furniture throughout his fights. The bottle crate around the east side of Theater Square provides a repeatable source of fragile objects, so you don't have to buy and destroy expensive equipment.
• Weapon Master: craft a weapon in each of the ten categories at Kamiyama Works: bats/clubs, polearms, blades, hammers, knuckles, tonfa, nunchaku, kali sticks/double swords, guns and the miscellaneous category. Buying a weapon is not crafting one. Keep crafting materials and recipe items until you're finished.
Minigame trophies
• Gourmet of Kamurocho: eat or drink at every required establishment. You only need an order at each, not every menu item. Use eat-in rather than takeaway. Remember underground venues and both Pronto service periods when checking missing restaurant progress.
• VIP Member: visit Love in Heart for five massages.
• Table Tennis Pro: perform three smashes in one match. Build Heat, use the smash prompt when the return comes to you, and keep the rally alive long enough to repeat it twice.
• The Human Jukebox: perform every karaoke song. You don't need a perfect score, just a registered result for every song. Kiryu can sing or participate in all eleven, so use his full menu during cleanup. Songs performed on hostess dates also count.
• Hat Trick: three bullseyes in one darts turn. Three scattered across different turns won't do it.
• First Carom: score the first point in a Four-Ball billiards game. Your cue ball must contact two of the other balls in the same shot. Choose Four-Ball specifically, not nine-ball.
• Boiled Turkey: three consecutive bowling strikes in the same game. Once you find a consistent opening position and power, repeat it instead of changing several variables after every throw.
• Novice Gambler: play cee-lo, cho-han, koi-koi and oicho-kabu.
• Casino Rookie: play blackjack, poker, roulette and baccarat. Finish a round and leave through the normal end-of-round prompt. If it doesn't register, replay the games properly rather than merely opening their menus. Bring enough baccarat chips to avoid being forced out immediately after losing the minimum bet.
• Welcome to SEGA: play UFO Catcher, Boxcelios 2 and the original Boxcelios. The original machine is unlocked by Akiyama's friendship with the Theater Square arcade manager, so simply visiting both arcades isn't enough.
• Way of the Pachinko King, on PS4/Xbox console: exchange 500 pachinko balls for the trophy prize. It is a prize purchase, not just a requirement to hold 500 balls. This is absent on PC.
• Shogi Promotion: promote a piece when it enters the opponent's promotion zone. This means a piece promotion during play, not increasing your rank at the shogi parlor.
• Seven Pairs: win a mahjong hand consisting of seven different pairs. Keep the hand closed; calling pon or chi ruins this structure. Winning on someone else's final discard with ron is fine. A four-of-a-kind does not count as two different pairs.
• Captain Two-fer: hit the dividing line between two batting-center panels so one shot knocks out both.
• Mr. Outdoors: golf five times and fish five times. This is a participation requirement, not five golf victories or five different fish species.
The remaining travel trophies
• Kamurocho Iron Man: travel 100 kilometers. It accumulates naturally if you're doing substantial side content on foot.
• Kamurocho Stampede King: knock down 100 pedestrians. Bumping shoulders isn't enough. Approach eligible male pedestrians from behind at a run and watch for the actual fall.
• Master of Kamurocho is the overall trophy/achievement for finishing the rest of your platform's list.
Before starting another story run, check that Fashionista is secured, your Normal clear counted, you've kept the clear-data file you actually want, and each character has supplies in the shared item box. New Game+ carries your development, money and most equipment, but resets story and substory progress. Keep the completed side-content file instead of expecting a new story run to preserve every completed checklist.
The time-consuming part here isn't one enormous minigame grind. It's doing the right jobs with the right character, handling the two genuine save-file risks, and not making yourself repeat work because you confused the platinum with full completion.
