Hell's Arena, Brawler Hell, and Survival Hell Hell's Arena opens through Coliseum Investigation in Chapter 2. It has two different modes, and each helps you prepare for the other. Brawler Hell is the direct combat challenge. Survival Hell adds dungeon exploration, timed phases, and its own upgrade collection. Brawler Hell first Fight through the available tournaments and check each first-clear reward. Some give items for Survival Hell rather than just cash. Five different tournament clears satisfy To Brawl is the Glory of Man, but continuing farther can give you useful equipment and mercenaries for the harder dungeon stages. The Chaos Master Cup awards Doctor Heresy, a useful mercenary for later Survival Hell runs. Kanda becomes recruitable through the last Bro Time, while Cold-Blooded Black Cat is found in the Trial of Schemes. Those are useful options to work toward rather than assuming the first available ally is the only one you need. The five full trials are Origins, Schemes, Assault, Poison Fangs, and Demise. They are separate from the introductory course. Complete three for A Taste of Hell and all five for To Hell and Back. The time limit applies to advancing through the dungeon. Failing to reach the gong triggers Divine Punishment and severe damage, rather than simply displaying an instant failure screen. Boss rooms do not use that same countdown. Use the escape point there to bank the money and treasures you've earned and preserve phase progress. You can return to the later phase after preparing again. Dying risks the rewards from the current attempt, so escaping is part of the system, not something to avoid out of pride. Extraction and phase progress: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps5/562181-yakuza-kiwami-3-and-dark-ties/faqs/82373/survival-hell I would decide on an exit point before health becomes critical. When you're already surrounded and nearly dead, getting back to the escape route is harder. Leave with useful progress, improve the setup, and return with a reason to expect a different result. What to collect - Gospels apply lasting improvements inside Survival Hell. - Survival Weapons add special attacks and effects to the loadout. - Mercenaries fight alongside Mine for a hiring fee. These are separate from the ordinary ability tree. Check your equipment before entering, and remember that bringing an ally requires both an unlocked slot and enough money. Arena tools: https://ryu-ga-gotoku.com/kiwami3/asia_en/darkties-adventure/darkties-adventure-fightclub/ Useful shop purchases include Sacred Contract for additional mercenary slots and Champion's Awakening for stronger mercenaries. The shop also sells other Gospel upgrades. Buy the earlier entries to reveal their later versions. Some rewards only appear in later phases, so repeating the opening stretch cannot finish every collection. Phase-specific treasure: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps5/562184-yakuza-kiwami-3-and-dark-ties/answers/660212-why-cant-i-get-the-item-in-the-survival-hell The late trials The fourth trial makes poison a more serious problem. Improve your protection against status damage and keep out of the poisoned central area in the boss room where possible. Don't let a small amount of environmental damage keep accumulating while you are concentrating on the opponent. For the final trial, build up your Gospels and recruits before attempting the whole thing. The last boss sequence includes a multiple-opponent section. Use your allies to divide attention, keep moving, and take safe Heat Action opportunities instead of letting the group trap Mine in place. The later single opponent has ranged sword attacks, so wait for the full sequence to end before closing in. Late-trial strategy: https://gamersocialclub.ca/2026/02/23/yakuza-kiwami-3-dark-ties-to-hell-and-back-trophy-guide/ Don't turn somebody else's exact damage multiplier into a mandatory entry requirement. Difficulty, defensive play, mercenary choices, and collected bonuses all affect how comfortable the run feels. If progress stalls, improve a specific weakness: damage, status protection, crowd control, or surviving long enough to extract. After Trial of Demise, follow the arena story through its concluding confrontation to finish Coliseum Investigation Results. Also, keep the game updated: SEGA fixed a Chapter 2 progression problem associated with clearing that trial in patch 1.13. Official fix: https://ryu-ga-gotoku.com/asia_en/info/detail/004145.html The route I would use is straightforward: clear accessible Brawler tournaments, collect useful Gospels, unlock more mercenary capacity, build a balanced team, and bank dungeon progress before things fall apart. That is much more productive than treating every failed attempt as a reason to repeat the same loadout unchanged.
