Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties platinum guide π
Both campaigns count toward the same platinum. Plan for roughly 30β50 hours, one run through each story, and some postgame cleanup. Beginner difficulty is fine. No difficulty trophy, no online trophy, no missable trophy, and no need to finish the entire completion list. The hardest parts are the Amon fights and the later Survival Hell courses.
PlayStation has 62 trophies: 52 bronze, 9 silver and the platinum. Steam also has 62 achievements, including its all-achievements award. Xbox has 61 achievements for 1,000G. Dark Ties is part of the main list, not an optional DLC trophy pack. Paid DLC is unnecessary.
THE ROUTE
1. Finish Kiwami 3 first. Work on Morning Glory, recruit Haisai Girls, scan LaLaLa friends and spend raffle tickets as you go.
2. Finish Dark Ties and work through its side activities.
3. Load Kiryu's save again. Completing Dark Ties unlocks four extra gang members, useful for the Amon Riders.
4. Use Premium Adventure for the remaining trophies. Keep a separate completed save before trying New Game+.
Kiwami 3 first is the safer story order because Dark Ties contains spoilers for it. The four Dark Ties unlocks are Zenba, Ikari, Kanda and Mine.

KIRYU'S UPGRADES AND TRAINING
β’ Fledgling Dragon / Respectable Dragon / Legendary Dragon: buy 20 / 40 / 60 abilities. Health and attack upgrades count too, so you don't need every special technique.
β’ Beginner Dragon / Advanced Dragon / Assistant Instructor Dragon / Master Dragon: earn 1,500 / 4,000 / 10,000 / 20,000 Training Points and pass the corresponding promotion exams. Earning the points alone isn't the whole job. Follow the messages inviting you back for training.
β’ Dragon Finisher: finish off 10 enemies with that specific attack. Activate Dragon Boost, let its remaining gauge drop to 25% or lower, then use the finisher against weakened enemies. Merely activating it ten times won't do it.
BAD BOY DRAGON
β’ Okinawa's Guardian Angels: finish the Okinawa section.
β’ Take Over Japan!: finish the whole Bad Boy Dragon storyline.
β’ Strongest Gang in Okinawa / Japan / the Universe: reach Infamy ranks 4 / 8 / 10.
β’ Bad Boy Style: fully upgrade both the bike and Baddie Uniform. Each has three upgrades, costing Β₯6,000, Β₯30,000 and Β₯90,000. That's Β₯252,000 for both categories.
β’ Lotta New Faces: build a roster of 50+ recruits and hold a Rally. A Meeting is a different activity. The trophy wording says βover 50,β so recruiting 51 before the Rally removes any ambiguity.
β’ Leave It All to Akko-san!: finish substory 17 in Okinawa, then substory 18 in Kamurocho. The second becomes available after the gang moves to Tokyo.
Recruit from the map icons, substories and prize exchanges. Upgrade the squad and buy Baddie Weapons as you progress. If Infamy stalls, use Haisai Points for Rally Tickets; a Rally levels the whole roster. Tickets become purchasable for 120 points after the Bad Boy Dragon story.
MORNING GLORY
β’ A-OK Dad: cook Dragon Champloo at Daddy Rank 2.
β’ Darn Good Dad: keep completing cooking requests until Dragon Sushi at rank 4.
β’ World's Best Dad: finish the cooking storyline with Haruka's Surprise Party at rank 6.
The cooking sequence is Dragon Curry β Dragon Champloo β Dragon Hamburg Steak β Dragon Sushi β Dragon Peking Duck β Haruka's Surprise Party. Keep checking the request board, harvesting crops and upgrading the garden. The finale needs strawberries: growing them requires four adjacent level-5 plots, or you can buy them at the Ryukyu market if you've got the cash. Follow the ingredient checklist in the Morning Glory menu.
β’ Fatherly Advice: finish four children's personal stories.
β’ They Sure Grow Up Fast!: finish all eight.
The eight are Ayako, Taichi, Koji, Mitsuo, Riona, Eri, Shiro and Izumi. Raise each bond to 1,500, watch their intermediate events, then complete the final event. A full bond bar alone isn't enough. Cooking-story meals boost several bonds, so do those before grinding individual activities. Homework, sewing, bug catching and food gifts can finish the remaining bond levels. These stories are tracked under Morning Glory, separately from Kiryu's ordinary substory list.
AROUND TOWN
β’ Substory Lover / Substory Dragon: complete 10 / 20 ordinary substories.
β’ Tojo Clan Revengers: defeat 20 Reapers. Track available targets in the phone menu.
β’ Coliseum Regular: win five different Coliseum tournaments. Keep going to all nine for the Jo Amon route below.
β’ Dapper Dragon: collect 50 different clothing items through shops, rewards and exchanges.
β’ Fate's Fiery Filament: make 30 distinct LaLaLa friends. Repeatedly scanning the same person raises their bond, not your friend count.
β’ Connected by Love: collect phone decorations and build your friend list until Lala sends the commercial invitation. Visit a LaLaLa Mobile counter and view the commercial. Don't confuse this with needing every friend.
β’ Spin for the Winnie-Win-Win!: use 100 prize-wheel spins as Kiryu. Ten-spin batches count. Ryukyu and Kamurocho have separate ticket types.
β’ Minigame Dragon: try 10 different minigames as Kiryu. Check Training List β Entertainment for the list; repeated rounds of the same activity don't become new types. You don't need to master mahjong or finish every minigame challenge.
β’ Print Club Dragon: complete 10 photo-booth sessions. Each session takes three pictures, but counts once. Go through the photo-selection step each time.
DEFYING FATE: TWO KIRYU ENCOUNTERS
Jo Amon: finish the main story, win all nine Coliseum tournaments, and check for his challenge message in Premium Adventure. Take a taxi to the Secluded Mountain Arena when ready. Pack healing items and use Ryukyu's guard/parry against his gun attacks. His aura reduces Heat Action damage, so save those attacks for openings after it breaks. Dodge the later red sword attacks instead of trying to block them.
Amon Riders: finish Bad Boy Dragon, then win every remaining Turf War and Total Annihilation battle to unlock their challenge. You need wins, not every bonus objective. Aim for a well-leveled squad, raise lower-rarity members' caps with Buttons, bring healing Baddie Weapons and protect your squad leaders. Keep an eye on Tsubasa especially: losing her ends the fight. Clear the battle for the other half of Defying Fate.
One warning about older guides: some say Jo Amon also requires all 30 other substories and all 36 Reapers. Detailed GameFAQs and Neoseeker walkthroughs identify the Coliseum as the unlock, and players report getting the invitation without those full clears. Finish the nine tournaments and check your phone in Premium Adventure before adding an unnecessary full substory/Reaper sweep. The standalone trophies require 20 of each.
