Yakuza Kiwami 2: Finishing the Majima Saga This one works differently from Kiryu's campaign, so I want to get that out of the way before getting into the actual route. Majima doesn't earn experience, buy skills, increase his health bar, or build an equipment loadout. You aren't supposed to spend hours leveling him up. The moves he starts with are the moves you're going to use. There are three chapters. The first unlocks after you finish Chapter 5 of Kiryu's story, the second after Chapter 8, and the third after Chapter 11. Return to the title screen and select the Majima Saga. It has its own saves, so keep those separate from your main-game progress. Finishing all three chapters unlocks The Majima Factor trophy or achievement. You do not need to finish the optional street bosses, send all the donations, or complete the minigames for that achievement. There's no separate Majima platinum. Story spoilers from here on. Before starting Buy healing items. Majima's health and Heat gauges don't get bigger, and you don't have Kiryu's collection of skills and equipment to compensate. Recovery items that restore Heat are useful too, especially before the last fights. His basic approach is fairly straightforward: land a short combination, finish with a heavy attack when it's safe, and move before the enemy retaliates. Heavy attacks after different numbers of light attacks give you different finishers. You can also quickstep twice, then use a heavy attack out of the quickstep to slash back at someone. Demonfire is his counter. Hold fighting stance and press heavy attack as an enemy's attack lands. It's useful if you've got the timing down, but you don't have to turn the entire campaign into a counter challenge. Dodging, taking safe openings, and using healing items will get you through. He has two Heat Actions. Essence of Stabbing is the single-target option once you have enough Heat. Essence of the Mad Dog: Maul needs a completely full Heat gauge and three enemies nearby. Watch for the on-screen prompt rather than assuming every heavy attack will trigger one. If you're using the default PlayStation or Xbox controls, holding L2 or LT suppresses Heat Actions when you want to save the gauge. You can't grab people, equip another weapon, pick up a bicycle to fight with, or activate Extreme Heat. Don't spend time looking for those options. Chapter 1: Tojo Clan Reform After the opening meeting at Tojo headquarters, head out and speak with Kashiwagi. Kawamura takes Majima back to Kamurocho. Move north along Nakamichi Street and deal with the assassins. Once you have freedom to explore, you can buy supplies and take care of optional street bosses. You'll also receive the messages that explain the donation system and announce available bosses. The main destination is the Majima Family office on Park Boulevard. Approach from the west. Inside, you'll find the aftermath of an attack and get Uematsu's name from Nishida. Check your messages if you're doing the optional bosses as you go. Otherwise, continue to Uematsu's office near the southeastern end of Senryo Avenue. The discovery there closes the chapter. Chapter 2: Prodigal Son Majima is now being blamed for Uematsu's murder. Leave Tojo headquarters and fight the Uematsu Family members waiting outside. Kashiwagi points you toward the Florist. Back in Kamurocho, go to the Millennium Tower and use the elevator to reach him. The surveillance footage points toward Kawamura, who has gone to Sotenbori. Finish any Kamurocho exploring you want to do while you're there, then follow the story to Osaka. In Sotenbori, head to the Grand. Speak with the manager and go inside to question the hostesses. Ayumi gives you the information about Kawamura and his debts. Leave and deal with the attackers. Your next lead takes you toward the old Odyssey area in southern Shofukucho. Speak with Yamagata outside Four Shine. He directs you toward the closed mahjong business above Hogushi Kaikan. Go to Hogushi Kaikan to continue the story and move into the last chapter. Chapter 3: Mad Dog of Shimano The opening section is the reunion with Makoto. Follow it through, leave the massage parlor, and you'll receive the call about Kawamura and what happened at the Grand. Stop here before rushing to the marker. This is the time to finish your remaining Sotenbori street bosses, sell plates, pick up recovery items, and send any money you want Kiryu to receive. Make a manual save before going inside the Grand for the final confrontation. There's no Majima Premium Adventure afterward, so keep that save if you want to come back and explore. Once you're ready, enter the Grand. Kawamura Kawamura has a gun. Don't stand directly in front of him trying to block bullets or trade hits. Keep moving, close the distance when there's an opening, land your attacks, and move again instead of getting greedy with a long combination. Use a Heat Action when the prompt is available. If your health drops, use an item rather than trying to squeeze in one more attack. Majima isn't getting a larger health bar later to make this easier. Ibuchi The next fight is Ibuchi, who also uses a gun and can grab Majima for a close-range shot. The same basic rule applies: keep moving and don't stay directly in his line of fire. Get close during an opening, take a short combination or Heat Action, then reposition. Trying to force uninterrupted damage is a good way to get shot or caught. Save your attention for the boss instead of trying to show off a counter you haven't practiced. Healing and Heat items are there to be used. If you brought them, use them. Defeat Ibuchi and let the ending play through. That finishes the campaign and earns The Majima Factor. The later scenes resolve Majima's departure from the clan and Makoto's reunion, so don't treat the end of the fight as the end of the story. One last thing: there aren't any Majima substories or locker keys to clean up here. The optional fights and money transfers are worth doing if you want them, but you don't need a separate hundred-item completion grind to finish this campaign.
