Kiwami 2 has some very expensive weapons, but you don't need to buy every one of them to finish the equipment requirements. And you don't need to spend millions finding out that the item you equipped is quietly making the game harder. So this is the weapons and gear guide: how the shops open, how Kamiyama's stock actually grows, which equipment is worth considering, and a concrete route to thirty different weapons and thirty different pieces of gear without buying the whole endgame catalogue. **Start with what you're trying to finish** The collection targets stop at thirty different weapons and thirty different gear items. Thirty copies of one weapon aren't thirty types. You also don't have to buy every infinite weapon or complete every gear set. [Collection requirements](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/completion-list) Open the detailed checklist before buying anything for completion. If you've already collected a type through a locker, a substory, or an enemy drop, don't buy another just to increase the collection count. Kiryu can equip three weapons and carry fifteen. If a dropped weapon shows the bag icon, use the stow action to put it in inventory. Merely picking it up during the fight isn't the same as keeping it. [Weapon inventory and pickups](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/weapons) Use the Equipment Box for spares. The second employee at a Poppo counter can provide access, and later you have boxes at your hideouts. Don't throw away something useful just because you're carrying too many spare weapons. [Equipment Box access](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/faq) **Opening Kamiyama Works** Complete A Pervy Peddler, Substory 24, in the back lot north of Tenkaichi Alley, behind the shop marked butatuki. Help Kamiyama against the attackers. His shop stays there afterward. He sells weapons and videos, repairs weapons, and expands his inventory as you sell him weapons and gear. [Kamiyama's introduction](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/chapter-1-substories) The important part is what you SELL to him. Buying ¥900,000 of equipment isn't the same as selling him ¥900,000 worth. There isn't a separate investment button that converts your shopping into the unlock total. **The other weapon shops** Dragon Palace opens through To the Dragon Palace in Chapter 5. Help the homeless man at Tenkaichi Street and Tenkaichi Alley, defeat the attackers, and accept the ride. The building on Park Boulevard includes an arms dealer whose inventory expands with story progress. [Dragon Palace access](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/chapter-5-substories) Beam's backroom opens in Chapter 6. After the story conversation with the information broker in Theater Square, ask him about Beam. Pay Nitta ¥50,000 at Debolah for the instructions. At Beam, ask for “Take-chan's High School Heaven,” then enter 2600. You don't need to buy every Cafe Alps drink to work out the answer. [Beam's Backroom Cache](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/chapter-6-substories) Tatsu's floating shop opens through The Hunt for Tatsu in Chapter 10. Speak to the suspicious man on Iwao Bridge, find him harassing Murata on the northern footpath, and throw him into the river. Follow the contact near Bishamon Bridge and pass his test by throwing him into the river too. Then return to Murata near Iwao Bridge to call the boat. [Tatsu's shop](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/chapter-10-substories) Ordinary Ebisu Pawn and Don Quijote inventories are useful too. Check those before assuming every missing item comes from a hidden dealer. **Kamiyama's complete sales ladder** The first amount below is cumulative value SOLD to Kamiyama. The amount beside an item is what buying it costs afterward. - Initial stock: Double Shaft and Tonfa, ¥7,000 each. - ¥10,000 sold: Double Spiker and Illusory Tonfa, ¥60,000 each. - ¥50,000 sold: Komaki Gloves and Transcendent Mouth Guard, ¥400,000 each. - ¥100,000 sold: Komaki Matchlock Gun, ¥700,000. - ¥200,000 sold: Komaki Insoles and Transcendent Insoles, ¥500,000 each. - ¥500,000 sold: Komaki Dogi, Transcendent Body Armor, and Fearless Binding, ¥800,000 each. - ¥900,000 sold: Skull Tonfa, ¥600,000; Dragon Sticks, ¥700,000. - ¥1,400,000 sold: Smuggled Modded Tonfa, ¥4,000,000. - ¥2,000,000 sold: Illegal Poison Kodachi, ¥5,000,000. - ¥3,000,000 sold: Photon Blade W, ¥6,000,000. - ¥5,000,000 sold: Coma Inducer, ¥7,000,000. [Weapon thresholds](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/weapons.html), [gear thresholds](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/armours.html) Premium Adventure adds Photon Blade RG, DRAGON-SP, and Yinglong Tonfa at ¥5,000,000 each. That's a postgame stock unlock, not another cumulative-sales tier. [Postgame inventory](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/shops-kamurocho.html) Reaching a threshold doesn't give you the item. It gives you the opportunity to buy it. Keep both numbers in mind before deciding how much money you need. **A useful way to advance the shop** The Prize Gun from the Majima Saga's final gift sells to Kamiyama for ¥3 million and counts toward his stock total. That gets you to the Photon Blade W tier without buying a pile of expensive equipment just to sell it back. [Prize Gun sale](https://darage.com/guide/ryukiwami2/k00.html) That doesn't make the blade free. It still costs ¥6 million. The gift helps with access; you still need the purchase money. I'd sell spare equipment and use that gift before doing any buy-and-resell loop. You lose money when you repeatedly buy at retail and sell at resale value. Sometimes a developed cabaret budget can absorb that, but it isn't a sensible first step when you're still trying to afford medicine. Also stop at the tier you actually need. If Dragon Sticks are your goal, the relevant sold total is ¥900,000. You don't need to push to ¥5 million because the shop has more rows left. **Weapons worth understanding before buying** Dragon Sticks are an affordable infinite-durability option at ¥700,000 once unlocked. Photon Blade W is the paired blade option; Photon Blade RG is the postgame single blade. DRAGON-SP has unlimited ammunition. The Illegal Poison Kodachi causes stun despite its name. Smuggled Modded Tonfa is infinite and causes burn, but drains health. Don't treat it as a free improvement with no drawback. For Demon Blade Muramasa, wear the Kiwami Demon Blade down to zero durability, then pay Kamiyama ¥900,000 to repair and transform it. Muramasa has thirty durability, not infinite durability. [Weapon properties and transformation](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/weapons) Buying tonfa or kali sticks also doesn't automatically give you every move for them. Watch Kamiyama's relevant videos and buy Tonfa Mastery or Kali Stick Mastery afterward. [Weapon mastery unlocks](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/stats-and-abilities) I'd keep more than one weapon category available. An infinite weapon is convenient, but having another type gives you different attacks and Heat opportunities instead of asking one item to solve every encounter. **Gear for the problem in front of you** You have three gear slots. The ¥2,500 Gem Bracelets at Don Quijote provide inexpensive status protection: - Red: burn. - Blue: paralysis. - Green: blindness. - White: stun. The Heavenly Beasts Bracelet from The Cabaret Killer protects against all status ailments. Champion's Ring strengthens enemies. Tranquil Tenugui drains Heat, while War God Talisman builds it. A Sacrifice Stone revives Kiryu once, then breaks. [Gear effects](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/gear) Those effects can matter more than a small increase in the visible stats. If a fight suddenly feels worse after changing equipment, read the whole description before blaming your timing. For gunfire, Bouncer Missions provide Sacred Wood Armor (Replica) from An Explosive Plot on Normal and Sacred Wood Armor from The Sex-starved Samurai on Normal. [Replica reward](https://neoseeker.com/yakuza-kiwami-2/walkthrough/BM-ExplosivePlot), [armor reward](https://neoseeker.com/yakuza-kiwami-2/walkthrough/BM-SexStarvedSamurai) With either Sacred Wood piece, hold Guard to block bullets without taking damage. Treat that as an answer to bullets, not a promise that every explosion and melee attack will stop mattering. [Bullet-blocking condition](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/gear) **Useful combinations** - Red Blessing: Red Binding and Red Gem Bracelet. Charge-attack help with one slot left open. - Komaki's Soul: Komaki Gloves, Komaki Insoles, Komaki Dogi. Charge-attack and Heat-gain benefits. - Kamiyama Steel Barrier: Transcendent Mouth Guard, Transcendent Insoles, Transcendent Body Armor. Weapon resistance and evasion. - Body Modification: Wrist Training Gear, Ankle Training Gear, Yakuza Training Gear. EXP/digestion benefits for the appropriate farming activity. - Dragon's Blessing: Dragon's Binding, Eye of the Dragon, Dragon God Amulet. Charge-attack, resistance, and evasion benefits. [Gear combinations](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/gear-combinations) The full Komaki or Transcendent set costs ¥1.7 million after you've opened the ¥500,000 sales tier. That's a meaningful purchase, so decide whether you want its effects before buying three matching pieces simply because they match. Training equipment has combat-stat penalties. Use it for suitable EXP rewards, then change back before a difficult fight. Don't assume it multiplies restaurant meal EXP. [Training equipment](https://neoseeker.com/yakuza-kiwami-2/walkthrough/BM-Equipment), [food exception](https://gameanalyze.com/ryukiwami2-sukiruruikei.html) **A concrete thirty-weapon route** The lockers contain twenty-five distinct weapons. These are the relevant lockers: Kamurocho: A1, A2, B4, B5, C5, D2, E2, E5, F4, F5, G3, I3, J4. Sotenbori: A3, A4, B1, C5, D5, F1, F2, F4, G5, H4, I2, J1. For gear, the locker foundation is eleven distinct pieces: Kamurocho: B3, G2, H2, H3, I5, J1. Sotenbori: B3, B4, D2, H2, J2. [Locker contents](https://gamersheroes.com/game-guides/yakuza-kiwami-2-coin-locker-key-location-guide/) Use the [Kamurocho key locations](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/locker-keys-kamurocho) and [Sotenbori key locations](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/locker-keys-sotenbori) to collect any that are missing. Some keys require story progress, so this is a completion route, not a claim that everything is available in the opening hour. Add these five non-locker weapon types: - Double Shaft: Kamiyama, ¥7,000. - Bowling Ball: Ebisu Pawn Kamurocho, ¥6,200. - Mysterious Syringe: Dragon Palace, ¥5,000. - Dark Wood Sword: Beam's backroom from Chapter 6, ¥40,000. - Iron Club, the golf club: Ebisu Pawn Sotenbori from Chapter 6, ¥40,000. [Kamurocho shop items](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/shops-kamurocho.html), [Sotenbori shop items](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/shops-sotenbori.html) Those five cost ¥98,200 altogether, before any costs associated with opening the shops. The golf Iron Club is different from the cudgel in Kamurocho G3. The ordinary Bowling Ball is different from the 100 Lb. Bowling Ball in B5. If you've already found any of these through normal play, they already count. Don't rebuy them. The point is to reach thirty distinct types, not follow a shopping list after the target is already done. **A concrete thirty-gear route** Start with the eleven locker pieces above. These twelve inexpensive shop types add another twelve: - Ebisu Pawn: Bulletproof Vest, Body Armor, Leather Jacket, Rusted Chain Mail. ¥4,000 each. - Don Quijote: Red Binding, Blue Insoles, Green Trunks, Pure White Briefs. ¥3,000 each. - Don Quijote: Red, Blue, Green, and White Gem Bracelets. ¥2,500 each. That's ¥38,000 if you need every one. Red Binding is a story gift, so normally you can skip buying it. [Basic gear stock](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/armours.html) Seven more shop types available by Chapter 6 bring the collection to thirty: - Don Quijote Kamurocho: Super Strength Fundoshi, ¥22,000; Rough Bracelet, ¥20,000. - Ebisu Pawn Kamurocho: Metal Jacket, ¥35,000. - Don Quijote Sotenbori: Light Insoles and Metal Shin Guards, ¥22,000 each; Strength Ring and Fighter's Belt, ¥20,000 each. [Kamurocho stock](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/shops-kamurocho.html), [Sotenbori stock](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/cheats-data/shops-sotenbori.html) The nineteen shop types total at most ¥199,000 before subtracting things you already own. Together with the eleven locker types, that's thirty without needing an expensive endgame set or Kamiyama's advanced sales tiers. Again, check after each batch. Story gifts, substories, and other rewards can mean you're done much sooner. **Before the next boss** Put your useful weapons in the equipped slots, not just somewhere in the inventory. Repair the ones you plan to rely on. Store the collection pieces you aren't using, remove anything that deliberately increases the challenge, and choose protection for the actual hazard. For shopping, keep the same discipline: collect the free stuff first, buy missing types when you're finishing a checklist, and save the big purchases for equipment you actually want to use. Kamiyama can sell you some great tools. You just don't need to buy his whole shop to prove you found it.
