Let's talk about money, food, and experience in Yakuza Kiwami 2, because this is where a completion run can turn into a lot of unnecessary shopping. You need money for meals, appetite medicine, equipment, and the businesses. You need five different kinds of experience for upgrades. Then the Completion List asks you to finish restaurant menus, trigger food bonuses, and drink things from vending machines that don't all work the same way. I want to put the useful routes and the actual requirements together, including all 47 food combinations and the full vending-drink checklist. You don't have to turn every trip outside into a grind, and you definitely don't have to buy the most expensive thing on the menu just because it's expensive. **What counts, and what doesn't** The food-bonus requirement ends at ten different bonuses. Discovering all 47 is optional. Finishing the restaurant menus is a separate objective, so ten recipes don't replace ordering the missing items from those menus. Vending has separate counters for total drinks consumed and different drinks consumed. The final variety target is 49. Buying a can isn't enough; use it. The ordinary Adventure money target ends at ¥10 million earned. Cabaret has its own ¥100 million target. Those are different checklist entries. [Completion targets](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/completion-list) Before spending, open the relevant entry's detailed list with the displayed button. If you only need one drink or menu item, finding out which one is missing is better than buying the whole city again. **Getting a useful cash reserve** Once Four Shine is developed, it becomes a repeatable source of serious money. The club's income after expenses goes to Kiryu, so the time spent improving it pays for the rest of the game. Law of Attraction can add Nouveau Riche encounters, and Club Hustler improves cabaret earnings. [Cabaret income and money skills](https://gamerevolution.com/guides/422465-yakuza-kiwami-2-get-money-fast-farm-yen/xwp_curated_content) Before that, the batting center's Platinum Plate rewards are another possible source of cash. But don't force an activity you can't yet clear consistently just because somebody called it a farming method. [Early money options](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/faq) I'd fund the next useful purchase first: enough medicine for the story, an upgrade you're missing, or a meal circuit that fills a specific EXP shortage. You can come back for luxury equipment after you have reliable income. And don't sell every unusual reward automatically. Some have a better use than their pawn-shop price. Kamiyama's shop also progresses through equipment sold to him, so where you sell can matter. **Buy the upgrades for the job you're doing** The five experience categories are Strength, Agility, Spirit, Technique, and Charm. Their colors are red, blue, yellow, green, and purple respectively. For eating, Boost Hunger Gauge gives Kiryu more capacity. Boost Digestion lets him become hungry again more quickly. Those make repeated restaurant visits more practical. [Experience types and life skills](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/stats-and-abilities) Don't count on the general Boost EXP Gain skill or training equipment to multiply a meal's listed experience. Detailed tests distinguish food from the battle, completion, and other rewards those bonuses affect. There isn't a separate Boost Meal EXP skill to buy in Kiwami 2. [Food versus general EXP bonuses](https://darage.com/guide/ryukiwami2/k00.html), [skill and food clarification](https://gameanalyze.com/ryukiwami2-sukiruruikei.html) Look at the upgrade you want before ordering. If Technique is the only color holding you back, more Strength isn't solving the problem. **AppStim: small dose or large dose** AppStim Half costs ¥3,000 and clears 15 fullness. AppStim RX costs ¥20,000 and clears 90. You can carry ten of each type. RX is sold at drugstores. [Appetite medicine](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/recovery) Half is slightly cheaper per point of fullness. RX is more convenient when you're repeatedly emptying a large gauge. Ten RX cost ¥200,000, so include the medicine in your meal budget rather than looking only at the restaurant bill. Don't use a large dose just to clear a tiny amount unless the convenience is worth the waste. And don't keep ordering while already full expecting normal meal EXP to keep arriving. [Fullness and meal experience](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1738775732) **A practical Sotenbori food circuit** The restaurants and Tsuruha Drugs along Sotenbori Street make it easy to eat, use appetite medicine, and restock without crossing the whole city. Kani Douraku is useful for Strength and Spirit, with Charm. Ganko Sushi helps with Agility and Technique. Zuboraya is another option for Technique and Spirit. In Kamurocho, Kotobuki Pharmacy sells RX. [Restaurant and drugstore circuit](https://bozumemo.blogspot.com/2017/12/2_84.html?hl=en) Komian is another useful stop: Hannari Kaiseki favors Spirit, Snow Crab Course helps with Agility and Technique, and Kyoto Sukiyaki helps Technique. Check the current menu values rather than treating one order as the answer to every shortage. [Komian meal options](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1738775732) My order of operations would be: finish missing menu items while hungry, trigger ten food bonuses, then grind the color that's still short. That gets several jobs done together before you start repeating meals you've already checked off. **All 47 food combinations** Order the ingredients of a combination together. These are valid sets, not a claim that every bonus has only one possible recipe. Some menus allow alternate combinations. For a convenient ten-bonus route, use both Cafe Alps bonuses, both Akaushimaru bonuses, all three Smile Burger bonuses, and all three Fuji Soba bonuses. Spread them over hungry visits or use appetite medicine. This is a straightforward route, not a claim that it's the cheapest possible one. **Smile Burger** - The Smile King: Smile Burger + Smile Fries + Smile Shake. - Healthy Smile: Tuna Burger + Smile Salad. - Calorie Combo: King Smile Burger + Smile Fries + Smile Salad. **Sushi Gin** - Sushi Gin Essentials: Kiwami Set + Kiwami Chirashi + Kiwami Seafood Rice Bowl. - Chirashi Festival: Flower Chirashi + Kiwami Chirashi. **Akaushimaru** - A Joyous Drink Alone: Beef Plate + Draft Beer. - Super Staples: Beef Bowl (Standard) + Miso Soup. **Bantam** - 30 Years to Perfection: The Macallan 30 Years Old + Hibiki 30 Years Old + Ballantine's 30 Years Old. **Fuji Soba** - Rice and Noodles in Harmony: Hot Soba + Katsudon. - Rice Lover: Katsudon + Curry & Rice. - Kitsune & Tanuki: Chilled Kitsune Soba + Chilled Tanuki Soba. [Combination reference](https://neoseeker.com/yakuza-kiwami-2/walkthrough/SotenboriRestaurants2) For menu completion, keep checking the restaurant's own list. Gindaco has food combinations, but it isn't one of the 25 restaurant/bar menu-completion entries. A duplicate branch in the other city doesn't create another version of the same food bonus. [Menu checklist](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/completion-list) **Vending drinks: 36 ordinary drinks, then the Mystery Drink results** Start with the named drinks. Sizes count separately, so a small bottle and a large bottle can both be needed. Shared drinks only need to be consumed once; you don't need a separate copy from every machine color. The common drinks to check are: - Genmai-cha, 280 ml. - Hoji-cha, 280 ml and 500 ml. - Rich Tea, 280 ml and 500 ml. - Tea. - Poseidon Power. - Sengoku Coffee. - Forest Meltwater. The blue BOSS machines add: - BOSS Light Sugar. - BOSS Black. - BOSS Rainbow Mountain. - C.C. Lemon. - GREEN DAKARA. - Iyemon Tokucha Green Tea. - Suntory Black Oolong Tea. - Suntory Mineral Water from the Japanese Alps, bought in Kamurocho. - Suntory Mineral Water, Okudaisen, bought in Sotenbori. The Kamurocho water is labeled M. Alps in some Xbox guides and S. Alps in other references. Use the city distinction rather than looking for an imaginary extra type. You need the Kamurocho water and the Sotenbori water. [Named drink checklist](https://trueachievements.com/a609653/opening-up-a-can-achievement) Then visit the other machine colors for these additions: **Red** - White Soda. - Mandarin Orange 100%. - Citrus Cyder. - Sukusuku Au Lait. **Orange** - Cafe Mocha. - Clear Marine. **Yellow** - Tropical Ultra Melon. - Lucky Soda. **Green** - Vitamin C Energy Drink. - Genmai-cha, 500 ml. - Grape Soda. - Grape Soda, 500 ml. - Muscle Soda. - Lemon Squash. **Magenta** - Aomidorijiru. - Kiwami Drink. - Pink Lemonade, Chu-Hi. - Fruit Dew, Chu-Hi. In Kamurocho, look around Theater Alley/West Taihei for orange, Children's Park or the Hotel District for yellow, East Shichifuku/Park Boulevard for green, and the Senryo Avenue side opposite Pink Alley for magenta. Purple and magenta are easy to confuse; check the drinks being sold, not just the cabinet color. [Machine colors, locations and exclusive drinks](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2388152109) That's 36 named ordinary drinks. If the counter is still short after those, check bottle sizes and both cities' water before assuming the random part is responsible. **Mystery Drinks: the last thirteen outcomes** Mystery Drink is sold by purple and magenta machines. It has thirteen different random outcomes that count separately, bringing the total to 49. Buying thirteen cans doesn't guarantee all thirteen results. Buy a small batch, consume it, and check the detailed completion list. Repeat until the missing outcomes are filled. Some results can damage Kiryu or change his Heat/status, so keep recovery items available. [Mystery Drink requirements](https://trueachievements.com/a304927/opening-up-a-can-achievement) Don't promise yourself a fixed number of attempts. If you're sure the ordinary drinks are finished, this last part is random. If you aren't sure, verify those first instead of spending money hoping a Mystery Drink will somehow become the bottle you forgot to buy in Sotenbori. **Drinks that are useful outside the checklist** White Soda and Citrus Cyder improve attack. Cafe Mocha helps defense, Muscle Soda helps knockback, Lucky Soda lowers encounters, and Tropical Ultra Melon raises them. Sengoku Coffee and BOSS Light Sugar help money drops. Forest Meltwater sobers Kiryu. The effects are temporary, and a new energy-drink effect replaces the previous one. Drinking everything in a row for completion doesn't mean all those bonuses stack. [Drink effects](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/food-drink) For the full cleanup, I'd finish the ordinary drinks first, handle Mystery Drinks last, and save after the checklist is done. For everyday play, carry the effect you actually want instead of filling your inventory with every drink just because it has a useful description. The same idea applies to the whole money and EXP loop: identify what's missing, spend toward that, and stop when you've got it. Four Shine can fund a lot, but it doesn't make buying the wrong thing any more useful.
