Yakuza Kiwami: Yui, Rina, the Hostess Substories, and the Date Trophies All right, I want to separate this from the cabaret guide we did for Yakuza 0. In Kiwami, you're visiting the clubs as Kiryu. There isn't a business to manage, a staff roster to train, or a rival club league to win. There are two hostess relationships to complete: Yui at Jewel and Rina at Shine. Both have conversations, rank events, optional dates, and a final substory. If you're going for all substories and Amon, you'll need to finish both. Getting into the clubs The hostess activities become available from Chapter 4. Visit MEB for an introduction if you haven't opened the clubs yet. Jewel is on Shichifuku Street and has Yui. Shine is on Pink Street and has Rina. Go alone. If Haruka is following you during Premium Adventure, leave her at Serena first. Shine also has Goromi as part of Majima Everywhere. That is a separate encounter. Meeting Goromi doesn't finish Rina's relationship, and visiting Rina doesn't automatically satisfy the specific Majima event. How the relationship progresses Each visit has a Love Gauge. Drinks, conversation choices, and optional gifts or food affect it. Fill it far enough during the visit and the relationship rank advances when the visit ends. The conversation pool has two parts: rank-specific exchanges and ten recurring general topics for each hostess. General topics eventually repeat. You haven't exhausted your chances just because you've heard a conversation before. You start at F and work toward S. At D and B, leave the club and respond to the outside events. At A, fill the bar again to trigger the final substory. Finishing that event leads to the completed S-rank relationship. That last distinction matters. Merely seeing A on the screen is not the finish line. [The club progression reference](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/cabaret-clubs) explains the visit gauge and event sequence. You don't need the most expensive drink A ¥1,000 drink and good conversation choices are enough to make progress. That is the drink price, not the total bill. There are club charges as well, so bring more than exactly ¥1,000. When she asks to share a drink, agree. You can use food or a gift to help a visit that's going badly, but you don't have to buy Gold Champagne every time. If you're trying to finish efficiently, save before going in, choose a modest drink, and use the conversation guidance below. Spending more money doesn't replace answering the questions or completing the outside events. Yui's rank conversations The descriptions below identify the choices by meaning so you can match them to the options on screen. F: Be honest about Kiryu having been in prison. When she explains her approach to customers, acknowledge her honesty. E: Say men should consider a woman's feelings. Then favor being honest about how a couple met. D: Criticize the persistent customers. For the follow-up about saying she likes a customer, suggest using the stronger declaration of love instead. C: Choose the response calling the man strange. Either follow-up works for this route. B: Admit that leaving is a possibility rather than making a promise. Then tease that she may already have fallen in love. A: Remind her of her claim that she won't fall for a customer. Then say you're looking forward to the outing. Yui's recurring topics • Classes: recommend cooking lessons. • Her sister's plastic surgery: say the decision belongs to her sister. • Class reunions: choose the explanation that some people may not find them fun. Don't choose the answer accusing them of being antisocial. • Customers buying presents: recognize it as a familiar tactic. • Getting a toy poodle: recommend getting the dog sooner if she's going to do it. • Online criticism: use the option saying she isn't cute. This is one of those conversations where the surrounding exchange matters more than how the answer looks by itself. • Having her photograph taken: suggest not smiling. • The discussion about being eighteen and soft drinks: ask whether she does that too, then accept the challenge. • Crying at a movie: agree that age can make a difference. • Being late after a reservation: sympathize with what happened rather than blaming her. [The English Yui answer reference](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/yui) lists the displayed wording. Her [Japanese conversation chart](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami/cabaret-club/yui.html) is useful for checking the reunion answer, which some English guides get wrong. Yui's outside events At D, check her messages and go to the eastern stretch of Shichifuku Street near Kanrai. Approach her and watch the encounter with the man bothering her. At B, meet her at Theater Square for the event involving her sister. After filling the A-rank bar, read the new invitation and meet her at Theater Square. This starts A Goodbye Promise, substory 54 in the English version. Follow the outing through the movie and photo-booth scenes to its conclusion. You don't need to invent an extra shopping errand or win a particular minigame to finish that scripted date. Let the event play out. Completing it earns Yui the Hostess and finishes her substory. If your relationship display hasn't updated, return to Jewel and check her status rather than assuming A rank was the final result. [The final-event walkthrough](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami/substory/substory06.html) shows the actual sequence. Rina's rank conversations F: Ask whether she's new to the job. Then say she seems happy. E: Point out that what she described isn't really cheating. For the follow-up, compliment how progressive things are overseas. D: In the hypothetical about being a woman, choose dating a man. Then choose the response about her not liking herself. C: Either opening response works. For the next question, ask whether Kiryu is cute. B: Reject the unreasonable request. Then suggest adoption when the conversation turns to children. A: Say you would approach someone you're interested in. Then ask whether she has someone specific in mind. Rina's recurring topics • Buying a camera: choose the response about spending money rather than borrowing it. • Trying restaurants: recommend a good ramen place. • Karaoke with a customer: say he should sing current songs. • Following an idol: appreciate how close fans can get to the performer. • Christmas crowds: agree that you dislike crowds too. • Forgetfulness: emphasize the thought behind the gesture. • Customers making dirty comments: choose replying with similar jokes. • Needing help around the house: offer to help. • Host clubs and men wearing makeup: suggest an okama bar. • Gaining weight: choose the option favoring being heavier rather than telling her to change jobs. Match the topic before selecting the response. Some of these choices only make sense once you've heard the whole exchange. [The English Rina reference](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/rina) provides the menu wording, and [her Japanese conversation chart](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami/cabaret-club/rina.html) confirms the positive responses. Rina's outside events At D, respond to her message and meet her on Nakamichi Street around Café Alps and Club SEGA. Approach her to begin the conversation. At B, meet her on Nakamichi Street near Don Quijote for the shopping event. After filling the A-rank bar, read the message about her meeting at Café Alps. Go to the front of the café to trigger the scene, then follow the situation to the Millennium Tower forecourt. You'll find Rina having trouble with a drunk. Defeat him and finish the conversation and ensuing scene. This completes Freedom to Romance, substory 55 in the English version, and earns Rina the Hostess. It is the final event leading into S rank, not something completed by buying one more expensive bottle. [Rina's event walkthrough](https://appmedia.jp/ryugagotoku_kiwami/78178457) confirms that final progression. Asking for an ordinary date The scripted rank events and the dates you request yourself are different things. Once you're at least D rank, raise the Love Gauge during a visit. During one of the conversation breaks, choose the option to do something and ask her out. If she accepts, finish the club visit and meet her at the location she gives you. You can choose an activity rather than shopping. Bowling, darts, pool, karaoke, the photo booth, and mahjong are among the options. Don't ask immediately at the beginning of a low-affection visit and assume the feature is broken when she says no. Raise the gauge first. If an outside story event is pending, deal with it before trying to force more ordinary club visits. Sexy Ron Ask either hostess on a date, choose to go play, and choose mahjong. Finish the game with her there. You do not have to win for Sexy Ron. The requirement is playing mahjong with a hostess, so don't turn this into a second mahjong-completion project. An ordinary visit to the mahjong parlor alone won't satisfy it. [The achievement requirement and player solution](https://trueachievements.com/a298349/sexy-ron-achievement) confirm that a win isn't necessary. You can also earn the separate trophy or achievement for successfully asking a hostess out while you're doing this. One properly arranged mahjong date can handle those two date-related goals. Karaoke completion while dating The hostess songs are part of the regular karaoke score list. Yui sings Moment de la Petite Sirene, while Rina sings EURO de x3 SHINE. If you still need those completion marks, invite the relevant hostess to karaoke and use the interjection difficulty that lets you reach the 900-point target. You can earn the completion scores alone too, but a date lets you combine that work with the hostess performance. If progress seems stuck Check the current rank and the Love Gauge separately. Filling one visit's bar doesn't mean every event after that rank has already happened. Read your phone. A D-rank or B-rank meeting may be waiting outside while you're trying to buy another club visit. Make sure you're dealing with the correct hostess and club. Jewel is Yui. Shine is Rina. Goromi is a Majima Everywhere interruption, not a third hostess completion path. If you're at A, fill that rank's progress and follow the final invitation. Don't stop there simply because an older guide says the substory starts at A. If you chose a bad conversation answer, keep going. These are repeatable visits, and the general topics cycle. You haven't permanently lost a trophy because of one awkward response. Before calling both relationships complete Check for A Goodbye Promise and Freedom to Romance in the finished substories. Confirm the Yui and Rina trophies or achievements, and check the relationship status if the Completion List still has an empty entry. If you also wanted the date achievements, make sure you've actually asked someone out and played mahjong with her. Finishing a scripted story scene doesn't mean every separate date activity has been done. That is the whole route: use the conversations to build the relationship, answer the messages, finish each final substory, and use the optional dates for the minigame tasks you still need.
