Yakuza Kiwami: Every Haruka Request and Getting to EX Rank
All right, let's go through Haruka's requests. This starts with a few purchases and meals, then eventually asks you to beat an expert at pool and score 950 on Otometal MY LIFE.
I want to give you the whole route, because the smaller details matter here. The wrong Poppo branch, the wrong casino, or an ordinary minigame session that never activated her request can leave you doing the right thing without getting credit for it.
How to start
This is a Premium Adventure activity. Finish the story, enter Premium Adventure with your clear data, and speak to Haruka at Serena to take her with you.
Talk to her while you're walking to hear what she wants. At the correct shop or activity, look for her request dialogue or special purchase menu before proceeding.
Don't buy something in advance and assume carrying it will count. She needs to be there for the requested purchase or activity. That is particularly easy to miss with the Gold Plate and the Baby monkey plushie.
If you fail a minigame, leave the location, let her request activate again, and return. Simply starting another normal session can leave you playing without the request attached.
You begin at F and work through E, D, C, B, A, S, SS, SSS, and EX. Mister Master unlocks at EX.
While you're walking between stops, hold R1 on PlayStation or RB on Xbox and walk slowly enough for Kiryu to hold Haruka's hand. Keep doing that until you reach one kilometer together for Hand in Hand. Running ahead of her doesn't count as holding hands.
The full request route
I've separated these by the rank you're working toward. Follow them in order, and use her dialogue to confirm the next one has started.

The early shopping and gambling stops are listed in [this request reference](https://playstationtrophies.org/game/yakuza-kiwami/trophy/189639-mister-master.html). Pay attention to the branch names rather than using whichever shop happens to be nearest.

Those final four requests finish the route. [The full Japanese checklist](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami/cheats-data/haruka-gimme.html) is another useful cross-check for the order and score thresholds.
Making the gambling requests count
The gambling amounts are profit during the requested session, not the number of chips you happen to own.
If you enter baccarat with 5,000 chips, leaving with 8,000 isn't a 4,000-chip gain. You need at least 9,000 in that example. Buying more chips does not replace winning them.
Save beforehand, and leave the game once you've reached the required net profit. Continuing to gamble can turn a completed target into a loss before you exit.
Cheat items are allowed. They're consumable, so save before using one and make sure you're in the correct game. A useful set from the lockers includes:
• I5: 10-10-1 Charm for Oicho-kabu.
• B4: All Ones Charm for Cee-lo.
• E4: Even Goro's Beads for Cho-han.
• H4: Lucky Hanafuda Card for Koi-koi.
• G3: Blackjack Amulet.
• I1: Zero Jewel for roulette.
• G2 and F4: Player's Piece and Banker's Piece for baccarat.
A cheat item doesn't necessarily earn the entire target by itself. Baccarat is the clearest example. One Player win and one Banker win at a 1,000-chip wager only produce 1,950 net chips because Banker has a commission. You still need more profit to reach 4,000.
For a low-effort baccarat attempt, save and bet on Player or Banker until you finish a session 4,000 ahead, reloading failed attempts. A Tie bet can get there more quickly when it hits, but it loses much more often. Don't describe that as a guaranteed shortcut.
If you're also working on the ordinary Completion List, its gambling targets are higher. You can combine some of the progress, but finish Haruka's actual request first rather than accidentally turning one session into an unnecessary hour-long grind.
Pool: Four-Ball
Four-Ball isn't about pocketing numbered balls. The pockets are closed, and you score by making your cue ball contact at least two of the other balls during the same shot.
The cue ball itself needs to make those contacts. Hitting one ball and hoping that ball hits another is not the same thing.
Turn on the guide and examine the cue ball's path after the first collision. You're looking for a controlled first contact that sends it toward the second target. Use the overhead view and take your time with the angle.
A successful scoring shot lets you continue, so several careful shots in a row are much more useful than one powerful hit that scatters the entire table. [The Four-Ball rules](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/pool) are worth reading if this is your first time playing it.
Pool: Expert Rotation
Rotation uses the numbers on the balls as their point values. The target is 61 points. Your cue ball must hit the lowest-numbered ball on the table first, but another ball can be pocketed legally after that contact.
That means you aren't trying to pocket the greatest number of balls. The higher numbers are worth more. Being behind early doesn't automatically mean you've lost, because the later balls can change the score quickly.
Use the overhead view. Imagine a line from the pocket through the center of the ball you want to sink. The ghost cue ball should meet the object ball along that line, on the opposite side from the pocket.
For a normal shot, keep the cue strike centered and the stick movement straight. Unwanted side spin or a sideways flick can spoil an angle that looked correct. Don't use maximum power on every short shot just because the option is there.
Before shooting, check what the cue ball is likely to do afterward. A successful pot that leaves you with a terrible angle on the next legal ball may end your turn. The expert can clear several balls once given a good table, so keeping control matters.
You can use a straight edge held near the screen to judge the line if that helps. It isn't a guarantee, and you still need the right contact point and a clean stroke. [This visual Rotation guide](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1687417367) shows the aiming idea.
Otometal MY LIFE: the 950 request
Select Lively Interjections for the later request. Simple Interjections won't give you the score range you need.
The ordinary Completion List asks for 900. Haruka's late request asks for 950, so your earlier completion mark doesn't finish this one.
Watch slightly ahead of the current input instead of reacting only when the marker reaches it. Learn where the longer holds end, where the line changes, and where the faster run begins. Those transitions are often where an otherwise good attempt loses points.
For held notes, keep the button down through the indicated duration. For rapid sequences, focus on the rhythm rather than trying to recognize every symbol at the last possible instant.
If you keep losing the same section, practice it with that specific section in mind. You can watch [a 950-point discussion and examples](https://playstationtrophies.org/forum/topic/303613-scoring-950-on-otometal-harukas-request/) to compare the troublesome part rather than guessing at the whole song again.
Don't restart a strong attempt over one mistake. You don't need a perfect 1,000. Keep playing and let the score tell you whether the run is still good enough.
Bowling
For the ordinary three-frame request, aim for strikes and finish the game. Players have also reported the request accepting combinations of strikes and spares, so don't immediately quit just because one throw missed a strike. The safe target remains the three strikes she asks for.
Choose one ball and starting position, then keep them consistent while you adjust the direction. The pocket is just to either side of the head pin, between it and the pin behind. Hitting the front pin perfectly straight isn't always the best way to clear the rack.
For Split Game, each layout must be cleared with one throw. A miss costs one of your three attempts. You can choose the layouts, so start with the manageable ones instead of picking the widest split first.
Three useful starting layouts are:
• Baby Split: aim through the gap between pins 3 and 10, so the ball and the falling pin clear both.
• In the Dark: line up directly on pin 2.
• Poison Ivy: from the starting position, aim between pins 3 and 6.
A light ball gives you a slower direction indicator, which can help with precise placement. Adjust one thing at a time if you miss rather than changing ball weight, position, power, and spin together. [The illustrated Split Game reference](https://kouryakutsushin.com/ryu-kiwami/%E3%83%9C%E3%82%A6%E3%83%AA%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0) shows the pin arrangements.
Haruka needs three cleared layouts in that session. The ordinary Completion List needs five in one session, so continue if the run is going well.
Batting, darts, and the arcade requests
At the batting center, separate aiming from timing. Set the target first, keep the reticle steady, and watch Kiryu's batting animation as the pitch arrives. His change into the ready position is a useful timing cue.
Aim along the border between two panels when you can. Clearing more than one panel helps the score and the separate Two Panel Knock-out requirement. For Haruka, the targets are 1,000 on Normal and later 1,200 on Hard. The Completion List wants 1,600 on each course, so try to get the higher score while you're already there.
For Count Up darts, you only need 200. Four bulls are enough, so you don't need to force difficult triple-20 shots if your bull aim is more consistent.
For the photo booth, pick one of the displayed button prompts and hit it when the marker reaches that position. The sparkling image tells you you've landed the best result.
For Baby the monkey, use the Theater Square arcade and catch a new one during the request. An old plushie in your inventory won't do. View the prize from both directions before dropping the claw so you're centered rather than aligned on only one axis.
For MesuKing, use a Rock-focused setup against Haruka's Scissors preference, but still watch what she's choosing. A tendency isn't a promise that she will use the same move every round.
Rank rewards
• E: Haruka's Candy.
• D: Haruka's Chocolate.
• C: Haruka's Amulet.
• B: Red Jewel.
• A: Haruka's First Aid Kit.
• S: Haruka's Lunch Box.
• SS: Zero Jewel.
• SSS: Haruka's Necklace.
• EX: Morning Glory Scarf and the Mister Master trophy or achievement.
The accessories help with the equipment collection, and the Zero Jewel can help with roulette cleanup. [The reward list](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/harukas-whims) confirms what each rank gives you.
Once you reach EX, save. If Hand in Hand hasn't unlocked, keep walking together until you've finished that distance too.
The request list is long, but most of it is straightforward once you use the correct location and activate the request. Save your patience for the pool match and the 950-point song, and don't make yourself repeat everything else because the game never registered which activity you were doing for her.
