Yakuza Kiwami 2: Cabaret Club Grand Prix
All right, we're back in the cabaret business, only this time Kiryu is the one helping Yuki run the place. If you followed the Yakuza 0 guide, a lot of this will feel familiar. But I want to go through Four Shine properly, because the recruitment, league progression, training and completion requirements aren't exactly the same.
This covers running the club, recruiting the full base-game roster, all forty business partners, the dinner answers and getting through the championship. Cabaret-story spoilers below.
Getting started
Four Shine opens during Chapter 4. Finish the introductory shift, then speak to Yuki to manage the club. There are four leagues followed by a final championship. You build your roster and fan base between those matches. [Four Shine and the Grand Prix](https://games.sega.com/kiwami2/cabaret.html)
Buy Hostess with the Mostess to improve hostess experience gains and Club Hustler to increase Kiryu's share of the money. They make more sense early, while you still have plenty of shifts ahead. [Cabaret skills](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/stats-and-abilities)
One thing worth knowing before you settle in for the entire business story: the Millionaire championship has a main-story gate. You can finish the cabaret storyline from Chapter 6, but you cannot do the whole thing the moment Four Shine opens. If Yuki tells you to come back later, advance Kiryu's story. More fans won't remove that restriction. [Story gate](https://trueachievements.com/a304917/legends-of-the-nightlife-achievement)
Build a team that can last the night
Most shifts allow eight hostesses, with six customer tables. Executive League restricts the shift to six hostesses, so you lose those spare staff members.
Talk, Party, Love and Skill determine service strengths. HP is stamina. Sexy, Beauty, Cute and Funny are appearance ratings. Check both, but don't assume an S appearance rating makes someone good at every customer's requested service.
Condition matters before opening. Give unhappy hostesses a night off. A strong hostess in poor condition isn't the same thing as a strong hostess ready to work. Rotate the roster instead of exhausting everyone at once. [Staffing and condition](https://neoseeker.com/yakuza-kiwami-2/walkthrough/CabaretClubBasics)
My suggestion is to build two usable lineups, then bring your best rested combination to championships. The backup team doesn't have to break earnings records. Its job is to gain experience and keep the business moving while your strongest staff recover.
Check Potentials too. Escorted provides a customer at the start; Relaxed helps recovery while waiting; Spoiled improves support-event benefits; Serene prevents trouble. Feisty increases trouble and Stressed weakens recovery. Leveling can improve these traits. A character's starting drawbacks aren't necessarily permanent. [Potential system](https://dojimasdragongirl.wordpress.com/2017/12/10/yakuza-kiwami-2-cabaret-club-management-instructions-and-backstory/)
Getting a shift under control
Select a new customer's table promptly, then compare hostesses. The clock pauses during selection, so you have time to look at the predicted face. Aim for the happy pink face.
Pay attention to wealth and visit length. A rich customer is worth finding a strong match for, and a long visit needs enough stamina. You can replace someone at an occupied table to free a better hostess for a new customer. If a guest requests a particular hostess by name, seat her when possible.
For example, don't leave your best Party hostess entertaining an ordinary customer if a much wealthier Party customer arrives and nobody else can satisfy him. Move a suitable replacement onto the first table, then use your specialist where she'll earn more. [Matching and table management](https://neoseeker.com/yakuza-kiwami-2/walkthrough/CabaretClub-HowTo)
The six hand signals
- Finger and thumb making an L: Guest Glass.
- Curved C-shaped hand: Ladies' Glass.
- Twisting both hands: Towel.
- Both palms held out: Menu.
- Hands making a rounded container: Swap Ashtray.
- Downward hand with thumb and little finger extended: Refill Ice.
Answer quickly and correctly for the better result. Those requests are also opportunities to recover stamina, so don't ignore one because the table was doing well already. [Signals and service](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/)
Trouble has its own responses. A business card means stop scouting; a camera phone means stop photographs; groping means stop touching; a raised striking hand means stop violence. A customer waving a bottle and making a scene needs the noise warning. A customer berating the hostess needs the harassment warning. Look at the behavior before choosing. These aren't the apology-versus-protection options from Yakuza 0. [Trouble-event animations](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/)
Extensions, checkout and Fever
Offer extensions to satisfied customers when the hostess can keep going. An accepted extension puts the table into Fever, which is especially useful with wealthy guests.
At checkout, gifts trade money for fan growth. Praising a hostess restores some HP for free; rewarding her costs money but restores more. During a championship, be careful about spending away the lead you just built. During an ordinary development shift, fan growth may be worth the expense.
Your Fever meter affects two tables at level one, four at level two and six at level three. It increases spending and helps staff recover. Tables already in Fever from extensions don't need another activation. If two tables already have extensions, level two can cover the remaining four. [Fever and checkout mechanics](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/basics-of-a-cabaret-club)
Don't sit on a full meter while tired staff struggle. I would rather get useful Fever time now than finish a shift still waiting for the perfect room. Also think about timing against a rival's attack: recovery is more useful after the damage than just before it.
The Oil Baron can appear at closing time. Follow the rapid-button prompt; your on-duty team's abilities affect how well you can satisfy him. Treat that as a bonus, not the entire plan for reaching a league target. [Oil Baron event](https://neoseeker.com/yakuza-kiwami-2/walkthrough/CabaretClub-HowTo)
Recruit the roster
Koyuki, Sakura and Cherry start with you. Scouting supplies sixteen more hostesses. It costs money, the price rises, and an attempt can fail. Save beforehand if you don't want to lose money on a failed search.
The scouting pool is:
Gold: Maeda, Oshima, Mariko, Tomomi and Watanabe.
Silver: Seiko, Endo, Lady, Murofushi and Serina.
Bronze: Marilyn II, Love, Peach, Chisato, Tanpopo and Tome.
Five more come from substories. Finish the requirement, then talk to the recruit outside Four Shine:
- The Headmistress: Sunflower in Bloom, substory 7. Strong Love.
- Yuka: The Cabaret Killer, substory 12.
- Yuriko: Stolen, substory 47.
- Etsuko: The Obatarian Strikes Again, substory 49. Strong Talk.
- Miki: The Woman Who Can't Play, substory 51.
League victories add Kana, Aika, Shoko, Yua and Kirara. Yuki also joins the working roster after Millionaire League, as a Diamond hostess. Together, those are the thirty base-game hostesses needed for An Eye for Talent. The two Ono mascot recruits are extras, not a reason to buy DLC for that trophy. [Full recruitment list](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/the-hostess-brigade)
Don't wait for Platinum recruits before building the rest of the team. Etsuko and the Headmistress cover useful specialties, and the scouting pool gives you the depth to rest people. A thin roster makes every later problem harder.
Dress the Platinums for the customers
Makeover changes appearance ratings. Watch the preview as you change clothing and accessories. A practical target is three S ratings with the fourth left at C, rather than weakening everything while chasing a perfect set that isn't available.
Use different weaknesses across the team. If everybody has C in the same category, you have built yourself a predictable problem.
For completion, buy different items. Buying one dress repeatedly for different hostesses does not turn it into several unique dress purchases. [Makeovers and dinner progression](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/preparing-your-platinums)
Dinner conversations
Platinum dinner events become available as the hostess reaches levels 10, 20 and 30. Look for the pink glasses above her after a shift. Better answers award more experience. Run another shift when the next event hasn't appeared; these are not three conversations you simply trigger consecutively.
The cues below follow question order, left to right. They're descriptions of the correct responses, not controller-button sequences. Match the meaning to your English dialogue choices.
Koyuki
- First: embrace her personality; recognize her admiration for Yuki; say the choice belongs to her; offer to pay for the meal.
- Second: say it doesn't bother Kiryu; the men missed their chance; inner qualities matter; suggest Kiryu may currently be in love.
- Third: offer to find the thief; promise protection; a collection of everyone's messages; return her feelings.
Her next event leads to substory 69. [Koyuki conversation choices](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/koyuki-event.html)
Kana
- First: boast about eating; recognize her effort; encourage continued hard work; blame the former club's treatment.
- Second: enjoy karaoke alone; guess a man with a big appetite; suggest the straightforward persona; choose Komian.
- Third: ask the woman directly; recognize Kana's growth; describe a first-rate hostess; return her feelings.
Her next event leads to substory 70. [Kana conversation choices](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/kana-event.html)
Aika
- First: order more drinks; continue the drinking challenge; support working happily as herself; say the answer suits her.
- Second: warn that falling for Kiryu means getting burned; leave the choice to her; encourage her own personality; compliment the tanned kuro-gyaru look.
- Third: apologize sincerely; admit Kiryu previously quit; suggest she relieve his stress; picture her continuing as a hostess.
Her next event leads to substory 71. [Aika conversation choices](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/aika-event.html)
Shoko
- First: no particular attachment to places; bicycle; manga; comedy manga.
- Second: the present; learning from taking a wrong turn; home renovation; offer to handle screentone.
- Third: spending time with a close friend; suggest a bar; recognize Kiryu as the subject; encourage entering a contest.
Her substory 72 also requires clearing Millionaire League. [Shoko conversation choices and gate](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/syoko-event.html)
Yua
- First: accept enthusiastically; cabaret suits her better; suggest a concert; admit liking an idol.
- Second: recognize the customer's affection; suggest her prince is already there; encourage fixing the problem; choose the educated-guess response.
- Third: promise protection; don't disappoint those fans; ask for nothing; praise the club's treatment of customers.
Her next event leads to substory 73. [Yua conversation sequence](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/yua-event.html). The English educated-guess prompt is in the [localized answer sheet](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/preparing-your-platinums).
Kirara
- First: approach the others herself; make the Kirara-name pun; horse racing; back the outsider.
- Second: put the money on another horse; drink together; invite her to karaoke; run her own club.
- Third: offer to have carried her; introduce Kiryu himself; say others admire her too; recognize her admiration for Yuki.
Her next event leads to substory 74. [Kirara conversation choices](https://dswiipspwikips3.jp/yakuza-kiwami2/nightlife-island/kirara.html)
Those are experience-building conversations, not a requirement to answer every line perfectly for the platinum. If you make a mistake, keep progressing rather than assuming the whole save is ruined.
All forty business partners
Partners give fans for their league. Look for the glasses symbol outside eligible shops. They become available as you enter their league. Buy the affordable ones first, then reinvest earnings into the rest. These are partnerships, not an upgradeable real-estate business. [Partner system](https://games.sega.com/kiwami2/cabaret.html)

Check Club Status if you lose track of a purchase. I would finish a league's partner sweep in one trip instead of repeatedly wondering which nearby doorway I already visited.
The league battles
Ranking uses your best single night's earnings after deductions. It isn't lifetime turnover. Surpass the leader's qualifying figure, then select Championship for the actual head-to-head match. Qualification and beating the champion are separate jobs.
Fresh: qualify above ¥1 million. Kana removes two customers with her attack. A team around level 10 is a sensible starting point. Aim comfortably above ¥1.3 million for the match.
Paradise: qualify above ¥1.8 million. Bring Party coverage, with roughly level-15 staff. Aika attacks HP, so keep recovery available. Aim above ¥2.5 million.
Executive: qualify above ¥3.2 million. You only get six staff, and strong Skill coverage matters. Around level 20 is a useful preparation target. Shoko removes customers and drains HP. Aim above ¥4 million.
Millionaire: qualify above ¥5 million. Bring broad coverage for demanding wealthy customers, with strong Talk support. Prepare around level 25. Koyuki is unavailable during part of this story, so don't build a team that only works with her. Aim above ¥6 million.
Final: there is no further qualifying earnings target. Rest your best staff first, then bring Yuki, your available Platinums and strong backups, ideally around level 30 or better. Kirara attacks both customers and stamina. Aim above ¥7.2 million.
Those battle targets include a little breathing room above the rival totals. The level suggestions aren't entry requirements. If you're losing, look at where the shift fails before grinding everybody several more levels. [Qualifying figures and rival attacks](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/grand-prix-battles), [league preparation](https://maestrosdelmando.com/yakuza-kiwami-2-cabaret-al-completo/)
If the room is empty, build fans. If customers arrive but don't spend, check matching and abilities. If a good opening collapses halfway through, look at condition, HP and your response to rival attacks. If you win in gross sales but lose afterward, inspect expenses.
Before calling Four Shine finished
Winning the first championship earns A New Champion Is Born! Finishing the business story earns Legends of the Nightlife. Registering thirty hostesses earns An Eye for Talent. [Cabaret trophies](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/trophies-achievements)
The final Cabaret Completion List targets are:
- Register twenty hostesses, with thirty still needed for the separate trophy.
- Scout ten times.
- Eat with Platinum hostesses ten times.
- Partner with thirty stores. There are forty available.
- Buy ten different dresses, ten different hairstyles and twenty different accessories.
- Raise a hostess to level 30.
- Earn ¥100 million through the club.
- Serve 300 customers.
- Complete the cabaret story.
Check the actual counters. The first visible milestone often isn't the last. [Cabaret completion requirements](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1739548017)
You can keep running shifts afterward. Kirara joins at the end, so her dinners and substory still need attention. Finish the six Platinum substories as well as Yuki's Treat Me Right, which begins after the final match when you leave and reenter Four Shine. [Post-championship events](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/218734-yakuza-kiwami-2/faqs/76366/chapter-6-substories)
The routine I'd stick with is simple: check for a dinner, inspect condition, choose the league, run the shift, then deal with whatever that shift showed you. Once you have the roster and understand the table decisions, Four Shine becomes a reliable source of money instead of a frantic three-minute exercise in clicking on whoever is shouting the loudest.
