Yakuza Kiwami: Training, Racing and the Remaining Substories This continues the complete Kiwami substory guide with the banknote hunt, hostess stories, Pocket Circuit, Komaki and MesuKing. The numbers match the in-game list. These are earliest unlocks, not deadlines. 51. Bad Ass Dads Unlock: Chapter 7. Start: Woman beside the fountain in West Park, the surface entrance to Purgatory. Accept her interview and answer the three questions. There is no fight or fetch quest. The final answer determines the item: choose “Having less common sense than normal men” for an Italian Shoulder Bag. A different final answer gives a Wild Shirt instead. The first two answers do not change that final reward; either outcome completes the substory. 52. The Value of 2,000 Yen Unlock: Chapter 5. Start: Bespectacled man at Vincent's bar. He wants five ¥2,000 notes. Return each note to him before collecting another; you cannot gather all five in one lap. The order does not matter: - Drunk at Taihei Boulevard/Pink Street junction: free. - Man at a vending machine opposite the Kazama Family Office on Tenkaichi Street: ¥2,000. - Tenkaichi Street Poppo clerk: ¥2,000. - Seated customer at Theater Square's Club SEGA: ¥5,000. - Man beside the arcade machines inside the Batting Center: ¥2,000. Each delivery pays ¥20,000. All five deliveries complete the quest: ¥100,000 received against ¥11,000 spent. MesuKing: The Queen of Beetles Unlock: Chapter 4. Start: Glowing card outside Club SEGA on Nakamichi Street. Walk over the sparkle to trigger Kiryu finding the card. Give it back to the boy in the lab coat, then enter this same arcade and speak to him again. He introduces MesuKing and supplies your starting cards. This completes #53 and opens the separate practice-match substory, #70. Collect the pink card sparkles around town as you explore; later opponents require collection milestones. 54. A Goodbye Promise Unlock: Chapter 4 onward, after filling Yui's A-rank affection bar. Start: Yui's final invitation; meet her in Theater Square. First get introduced to Jewel through MEB and keep visiting Yui. Complete her intermediate meetups near Kanrai at D rank and in Theater Square at B rank, then keep raising affection until the A bar is full. Leave the club and respond to her invitation. Meet her in Theater Square and follow the conversation to its conclusion. No battle or required purchase occurs in the finale. Completing it advances her relationship to S rank. 55. Freedom to Romance Unlock: Chapter 4 onward, after filling Rina's A-rank affection bar. Start: Rina's message and the area outside Café Alps. Get introduced to Shine through MEB, raise Rina's affection, and complete her D-rank meetup near Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA and B-rank meetup near Don Quijote. Once the A bar is full, leave the club for her final message. Walk past Café Alps to see her, then go to Millennium Tower. Defeat the drunk harassing her and finish the conversation. This completes the substory and advances her relationship to S rank. Hostess cost-saving note: Expensive gifts and ¥300,000 champagne are not mandatory. A ¥1,000 drink, suitable clothing, and good conversation choices can progress both routes. Full dialogue references: [Yui](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/yui) and [Rina](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/rina). 56. The Fighter's Successor Unlock: Chapter 4. Start: Pocket Circuit Stadium beside Children's Park on Shichifuku Street West. - Reunite with Fighter, speak to him inside, and agree to find his replacement. - Visit Theater Square's Club SEGA for the reunion with Hideki and Mika. - Return to the stadium and beat Hideki. He directs you to Takuma at Stardust. - Speak to Takuma at Stardust, then return to the stadium and report back. - Beat Pocket Circuit Fighter, then beat Takuma. All three races are required. The last win gives the Godspeed Motor Mk II and custom-course creation. Suggested race builds. Use stabilization when prompted, and avoid unnecessary boosts: - Hideki: Slim Tires; Speed Frame; Speed Motor; Balanced Gears; High Speed Battery. Leave suspension, bumper and stabilizer empty. These five parts cost ¥2,900 altogether at the stadium shop. - Fighter: Ultra Slick Tires; Ultra Metal Frame; Ultra Godspeed Motor; Ultra Boost Gears; High Capacity Battery; Heavy Suspension; Bumper Plate. No side stabilizer. - Takuma: Use Fighter's setup, but change to Ultra Spiked Tires and add Side Stabilizer. - Takuma alternative: Ultra Low Profile Tires; Ultra Metal Frame; Ultra Godspeed Motor; Super Boost Gears; High Capacity Battery; Heavy Suspension; Bumper Plate; Side Stabilizer 2.0. Where the important parts come from: Clear ordinary races to expand the stadium shop. Ultra tires and Ultra Metal Frame appear after Advanced Cup; Ultra Boost Gears after Expert Cup; Ultra Godspeed Motor after Champion Cup. Heavy Suspension (¥14,980) and Side Stabilizer 2.0 (¥4,980) come from Ebisu Pawn. It is fine to leave this substory open while earning the parts. The late builds are preparation, not a Chapter 4 requirement. Behind the Assassin Unlock: Finale/Chapter 13, with Haruka not following you. Start: Taihei Boulevard West, west of Akaushimaru. Approach the gray-jacketed man and defeat the dual-dagger assassin. Then enter Purgatory's underground red-light district and walk toward the Florist's mansion. Kunieda intercepts you; defeat him and his four men to finish. If Haruka is with you, speak to Kazuki at Stardust, choose “Not yet”, then “Yes” to his offer to watch her. Bring healing for the two fights. 58. In Pursuit of Pleasure Unlock: Chapter 6. Start: Senryo Avenue, just south of the Champion District's western entrance, near Taihei Boulevard East. Intervene in the argument and win the opening fight. Show Shinohara around in this order: Kanrai → Jewel → Purgatory's Coliseum. Speak to him inside the Coliseum to start your match, then beat him. Avoid prolonged attacks into his raised-hand counter-throw stance; circle his slower attacks and punish openings. Completion adds Shinohara to the Coliseum opponent pool. Komaki training: shared requirements for #59–69 Find Komaki at the fountain in West Park, outside the underground entrance. Do lessons in numerical order. From #61 onward, buy the requested picture from the Coliseum's prize-exchange attendant, then bring it to Komaki. The nine pictures total 27,000 Coliseum points. Stock healing before training battles and follow each lesson's displayed controls. Training begins in Chapter 6. #63 additionally requires Majima to be active. If a rank-up encounter is pending, resolve it. If Majima is resting because you have reached the chapter's rank cap, progress the story; the next opportunities are Chapter 8, then Chapter 10. There is no universal requirement to wait until Chapter 8 if #63 is already available. 59. Komaki Style: Shot Stopper Unlock: Chapter 6. Start: Komaki at West Park's fountain. Required item: None. Accept his invitation to train. In the demonstration, move close to the armed opponents and perform the prompted Heat Action against their firearms. Follow the tutorial until it clears. This first lesson unlocks the gun-disarming Shot Stopper move and opens #60. You do not need a Coliseum picture for this introduction. 60. Komaki Style: Swordsmanship Unlock: Chapter 6, after #59. Bring: Wooden Katana, obtainable from Ebisu Pawn. Equip the Wooden Katana and return to Komaki. During his demonstration, land the required 20 sword attacks; use the light, heavy, or thrust controls shown by the game. Finish the lesson to gain Swordsmanship. Do not arrive with an ordinary metal katana: this lesson specifically requests the wooden weapon. The next lesson introduces the Coliseum-picture requirement. 61. Komaki Style: Roundhouse Attack Unlock: Chapter 6, after #60. Bring: Image of an Asura, 200 Coliseum points. Give Komaki the picture and defeat the seven trainees within three minutes. Throws and grounded Heat Actions help remove opponents without getting surrounded. Continue into the follow-up demonstration and use directional inputs during a combo to redirect attacks toward other enemies. Finish the practice to learn Roundhouse Attack. Remember to bring the picture; winning the earlier lessons alone does not open this one. 62. Komaki Style: Cat-Like Reflexes Unlock: Chapter 6, after #61. Bring: Image of a Cat, 400 Coliseum points. Return the picture to Komaki and beat the trainee carrying a bat. Then complete the recovery demonstration against him: when knocked down, use the prompted recovery input to regain your footing. Finishing the lesson grants Komaki Cat Feet. This is a combat test followed by practice, so do not leave immediately after winning the first exchange. 63. Komaki Style: Clear-Minded Mastery Unlock: Chapter 6 onward, after #62, with Majima active. Bring: Image of a Snake, 600 Coliseum points. Hand over the picture and fight Hannya-Man. You pass even if you lose; winning is optional and gives additional experience. He is quick, so attack after his whiffs rather than chasing long combos, and heal if pursuing the win. If Komaki says preparations are unfinished, resolve Majima's pending rank-up or advance past his current story cap, then return. 64. Komaki Style: Evade and Strike Unlock: After #63; Chapter 6 onward subject to its Majima gate. Bring: Image of a Kamaitachi, 800 Coliseum points. Present the picture and avoid every shot until Komaki's shooting drill ends. Watch his firing preparation and quickstep aside as the shot comes. Stay focused on evasion rather than trying to damage him. Completing the drill unlocks a heavy attack directly after a quickstep. Follow the on-screen drill instructions until the lesson clears. 65. Komaki Style: Dharma Tumbler Unlock: After #64; Chapter 6 onward. Bring: Image of Dharma, 1,000 Coliseum points. Give Komaki the image, then defeat Isamu Kumada. Keep attacks short enough to guard or move when he interrupts; grabs and throws can create safe Heat Action opportunities. Complete the lesson's explanation to unlock the extra evasive roll after a quickstep. This fight also unlocks Kumada as a potential opponent in the regular Coliseum tournaments. 66. Komaki Style: Fist Reversal Unlock: After #65; Chapter 6 onward. Bring: Image of Four Gods, 2,000 Coliseum points. Defeat all four trainees before the time limit. Keep moving to prevent a surround, throw one opponent into the others, and use Heat Actions to eliminate fighters rather than spreading every hit evenly. Healing items can help you survive the group. Complete the follow-up practice for Fist Reversal, the counter Heat Action performed when an opponent attacks. 67. Komaki Style: Knock Back Unlock: After #66; Chapter 6 onward. Bring: Image of an Elephant, 4,000 Coliseum points. Endure the trainee for one minute without attacking, grabbing, or evading. Hold your fighting stance and guard. Ordinary movement is allowed, so you can keep distance instead of absorbing every punch. Do not press quickstep: that fails the restriction. Passing unlocks Knock Back, a heavy-attack retaliation from a guard. 68. Komaki Style: Tiger Drop Unlock: After #67; Chapter 6 onward. Bring: Image of a Tiger, 8,000 Coliseum points. Defeat Raizo Shiba, the masked powerhouse. Wait out his armored swings and spinning attack, then punish the recovery; careless extended combos invite a counter. Heal when needed. Winning unlocks Tiger Drop: in Dragon style, hold fighting stance and press heavy attack just as an enemy's strike reaches you. The timing matters; it is not an ordinary heavy attack you can repeatedly mash. 69. Komaki Style: Parry Unlock: After #68; Chapter 6 onward. Bring: Image of a Dragon, 10,000 Coliseum points. Deliver the last picture and defeat Komaki himself. He dodges and counters aggressively, so this is a good place to use your newly learned Tiger Drop rather than chasing him with long strings. Bring healing and watch for grabs while guarding. Victory completes the training chain and grants Komaki Parry, performed with the grab input from fighting stance as an enemy strikes. Return to him after each match to request the next opponent unless an entry sends you to the Theater Square branch. Collection checks count your insect and skill cards. Match a strong insect to skills within its allowed skill level. Rock beats Scissors, Scissors beats Paper, and Paper beats Rock. A deck's finisher type is a useful weakness to plan around, not a guaranteed prediction of every throw. 70. Practice Match with Professor Unlock: Chapter 4, after #53. Start: Professor at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA. Ask for a practice match. Follow his instructions and choose Paper → Rock → Scissors as the tutorial requests. This is the scripted teaching match, not his eventual serious battle. Finish the demonstration to clear #70, then speak to him again to find your first real rival. Your starter cards are sufficient. 71. First Rival Unlock: Chapter 4, after #70. Start: Professor at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA; ask to battle someone. Your opponent is Tomohiro. He repeatedly picks Rock, so answer with Paper each round. Set up a usable Paper attack and keep countering him until his health runs out. Winning clears the substory and awards the Giant Swing skill card. Return to the Professor for the next challenger. 72. Private Lesson Unlock: Chapter 4, after #71. Start: Ask the Professor for another opponent at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA. Beat Sachi to help her out of her losing streak. Watch for the quick selection accompanied by a white exclamation mark on her Rock attack; that is a cue to answer Paper. Watch her choices rather than assuming every round follows a fixed sequence. Winning awards Finish Time and opens #73. 73. As Long as There's Love Unlock: Chapter 4, after #72. Start: Professor at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA. Request the next match and defeat Masaru, who uses Paper Wasp. Despite its name, that insect's strong finishing attack is Scissors. A strong Rock-focused insect and Rock attack therefore make a useful counter, though he can still choose another hand. Winning awards Super Romero Special. Keep collecting cards afterward, because the next substory adds a collection requirement. 74. Time for a Raid! Unlock: Chapter 4, after #73, with at least 30 cards. Start: Professor at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA. Request another match and hear Tomohiro's complaint. Travel to the Theater Square Club SEGA and challenge Nobuo there. His Japanese Giant Mantis is Scissors-focused, so build a strong Rock counter, but adapt rather than expecting one fixed pattern. Beat him to finish the substory and receive the Japanese Giant Mantis card. Return to the Nakamichi Professor afterward. 75. The Professor's Past Unlock: Chapter 4, after #74. Start: Professor at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA. Speak to the Professor to meet Takeru and win his challenge. His Empress Cicada has a powerful Rock finisher, making a good Paper attack useful. Do not assume he always rotates his throws in a fixed order; that claim is not reliable. Your reward is Last Resort, an important skill card to consider when preparing for the remaining opponents. 76. The Professor's Past 2 Unlock: Chapter 4, after #75. Start: Hime inside the Theater Square Club SEGA. Go to the other arcade rather than waiting beside the Nakamichi Professor. Challenge and defeat Hime. Her Queen Alexandra Birdwing is Paper-focused, so Scissors can counter its strongest finish, but she uses other attacks too. Build for sufficient health and reliable damage rather than trusting a fixed sequence. Victory gives the Wasp King card and opens #77. 77. Enjoying It With Everyone Unlock: Chapter 4, after #76, with at least 40 cards. Start: Professor at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA. Return to meet Masashi and accept his challenge. His Giraffe Stag-Beetle has a strong Scissors finisher; a Rock-focused deck helps counter that threat. He does not have a reliable fixed sequence, so a strong card setup matters. Defeat him to obtain Tie Breaker. The final challenge needs 50 cards, so collect more before asking the Professor for his serious match. 78. Battle for the MesuKing Throne Unlock: Chapter 5 at the earliest, after #77, with at least 50 cards. Start: Professor at Nakamichi Street's Club SEGA. Choose the option to fight him seriously. His Hercules Beetle is Paper-focused; a strong Scissors finisher, such as Giraffe Stag-Beetle's, is a sensible counter. Equip your best compatible skills, consider Last Resort, and expect to adapt because his throws are not a fixed script. Defeat him to complete the MesuKing chain and obtain the Hercules Beetle card. [MesuKing chain](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/chapter-4-substories) · [Final match unlock](https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/181171-yakuza-kiwami/faqs/75194/chapter-5-substories) Once all 77 other entries are finished, come back to #46 for Amon. If something is still missing, check the substory number, its prerequisite, whether Haruka should be with you, and whether Majima is active before spending another hour circling the same street.
