Yakuza 0: Minigame Completion Guide All right, this is where I'm getting into the side things in Yakuza 0. There's a lot here. If you're working toward the Completion List, it helps to know what each game actually wants before spending hours trying to beat something you don't need to beat. I'm covering the arcade games, karaoke, disco, fishing, bowling, batting, darts, pool, mahjong, shogi and gambling here. Pocket Circuit and Catfight Club have their own guides because there's enough to those that I want to cover them separately. This is built around the original Yakuza 0. Follow the button prompts on your version rather than assuming a PlayStation button carries over to Xbox or PC. I've kept the instructions focused on the actions themselves. Before starting Keep a separate save before expensive minigames, and save again after you finish a difficult requirement. If you reload an older save, anything you completed after that save disappears too. Check the actual Completion List after a session. Money objectives, score objectives and friendship objectives work differently. Winning a game once doesn't automatically finish that game's whole section. Most of these minigame requirements are shared between Kiryu and Majima. Karaoke is the important exception: each character needs his own qualifying performances. The business and friendship tasks associated with these activities can also have their own requirements. Completion tracking: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/completion-metrics 1. Karaoke Goal: score at least 90 on every required character/song combination. Kiryu: - Judgement -Shinpan- - Bakamitai - x3 Shine - Heartbreak Mermaid - Rouge of Love Majima: - 24-hour Cinderella - x3 Shine - Heartbreak Mermaid - Rouge of Love That's nine performances to check off. Scoring 90 on Rouge of Love with Kiryu doesn't finish Majima's entry. Use Heroine in Kamurocho and Utahime in Sotenbori. For songs where you're providing interjections, choose Lively Interjections. Simple Interjections won't get you the score you need. Learn where the held notes and rapid presses are before chasing a perfect run. Hold through the entire indicated section, then release when it ends. For rapid prompts, keep pressing until the segment finishes. The female songs can be performed with the bar hostess, so you don't have to wait until you've arranged every possible date. The dates and hostess training still matter for their own activities. Ninety is enough. You can chase 100 if you want to, but the Completion List doesn't require it. Karaoke requirements and mechanics: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/karaoke 2. Disco Goal: three stars on all five songs on Easy, Normal and Hard. - Friday Night - Queen of Passion - I'm Gonna Make Her Mine - I Wanna Take You Home - Koi no DISCO QUEEN That's 15 song/difficulty combinations at Maharaja. Clearing Hard doesn't replace your Easy or Normal results. Start by learning to reach each square and hit the button at the correct time. Then add extra movement between notes. Extra steps increase the score, but those steps are wasted if you miss the actual button. On a crowded stretch, take the short route. On a long gap, work in extra steps and get back into position early. Don't run into the edge of the dance floor, because the little collision can throw your timing off. Use Dancing Fever when it's ready and complete its directional prompts cleanly. That gives you another scoring opportunity without having to squeeze extra steps into every normal note. For cleanup, keep a small checklist of the 15 combinations. It's easy to remember beating a song and forget that one difficulty only earned two stars. Disco mechanics: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/disco 3. The four arcade scores These are individual score targets. Playing lots of short games doesn't add their scores together. Out Run: 5,000,000 Use the SEGA arcade on Nakamichi Street or in Sotenbori. Start in low gear, then shift up once you're moving quickly, around 150 km/h. Ease off before hard bends rather than trying to hold maximum speed through everything. The left branches are generally the more manageable route. Pick a route and learn it instead of changing direction every attempt. A crash costs much more time than slowing down for a corner. The five-million target can be reached partway through the third stage, so you don't need a full finish. Watch the score rather than assuming a particular checkpoint guarantees it. Out Run: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/out-run Space Harrier: 5,000,000 Use the Theater Square arcade or Sotenbori. There is a built-in rapid-fire input, so use that instead of exhausting your hand tapping every shot. Keep moving while firing, but watch for solid scenery that your shots cannot remove. Getting fixated on one enemy while flying directly into a pillar is an easy way to lose a life. You can reach the target around Stage 4, depending on what you've destroyed. You don't need to clear the entire arcade game. Space Harrier: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/space-harrier Fantasy Zone: 100,000 This machine is unlocked through Majima's friendship with Kyoko. Destroy the stationary generators around each looping stage to bring out the boss, then beat the boss to progress. Use the radar along the bottom to find the generators you still need. Shoot enemies in front of you and use bombs for targets underneath you. Keep enough distance to react to projectiles instead of parking directly beside a generator. Collect coins and use the shop. Weapon upgrades have a limited duration or ammunition, so make use of them while you have them. Losing a life also costs your upgrades, which makes protecting the next life more valuable than grabbing a risky coin. The requirement is the score, not clearing every stage. Fantasy Zone: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/fantasy-zone Super Hang-On: 5,000,000 Unlock this through Kiryu's friendship with Luka. The machine becomes available at Nakamichi and Sotenbori. Accelerate on the straights and use turbo once you've reached 280 km/h. Back off for corners and traffic. Holding turbo when you can't safely steer is going to cost more than it gains. Expect to need roughly four stages of progress for the score. As with Out Run, learning a clean route matters more than trying to take every bend at full speed. Super Hang-On: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/super-hang-on 4. UFO Catcher Goal: 15 different prizes. Repeated copies of one toy don't fill the list. The complete set is: - White Bunchan, Pink Bunchan and Jumbo Bunchan - Blue Chestnut, Red Chestnut and Jumbo Chestnut - Opa-Opa Figure - Woo Papa, Woo Mama and Woo-kun - Frill-necked Lizard - Kyon-bo and Kyon-chan - Kara Kappa - Mega Drive Stuffed Toy Move the camera before committing to the claw's second direction. A toy that looks lined up from the front may be nowhere near the claw's center from the side. If a toy slips, watch where the claw lost it and change the approach. Depending on its shape, catching a narrow part or supporting the wider body can work better. Ask the attendant to restock when you need a different arrangement or missing prize. Pay particular attention to the jumbo versions: they are separate entries, even though they resemble the smaller toys. UFO Catcher: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/ufo-catcher 5. Darts Goals: 10 hat tricks and ¥10,000,000 earned. A hat trick means all three darts in one turn hit the bull. Inner and outer bull both count. Solo 901 gives you plenty of throws to practice without an opponent ending the game immediately. Get the aim settled before pulling back to throw. On a controller, practice a consistent pull and release rather than jerking the stick differently every time. For money, play at Vincent in Kamurocho. After playing, challenge the man who appears. Working through the first challenger opens another opponent who plays Cricket. His first two challenges pay ¥1 million and ¥4 million. You can leave and repeat those rather than insisting on his much harder ¥10-million challenge. In Cricket, focus on claiming a scoring area before spreading your throws across the board. Once you have a region open for scoring, keep using it until your opponent closes it. The hat tricks and money are separate. Check both before moving on. Darts: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/darts 6. Pool Goals: three combination shots, three carom shots and ¥10,000,000 earned. Here's the difference between the shots: - Combination: cue ball hits the first object ball; that ball knocks another ball into a pocket. - Carom: cue ball hits the first object ball, then the cue ball continues into another ball and pockets it. For controlled attempts, play Nine-ball alone. You can arrange opportunities without an opponent clearing the table. A scratch gives you cue-ball placement, but the scoring shot itself still needs to be legal. Hit the lowest-numbered ball first. For money, use Puzzle Pool. Finish Easy to unlock Normal, then Normal to unlock Hard. Each course has three puzzles. You need to pocket the red ball while avoiding the black balls and a scratch. Yellow balls can help with combinations. Use the overhead view to line up banks and check the full path. Keep your cue pull straight so you don't introduce accidental sideways movement. Repeat the course you can reliably clear and check the earnings counter afterward. Winning a normal pool match isn't the same thing as completing all three objectives. Pool: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/pool A repeatable Puzzle Pool practice routine For completion, concentrate on learning one course reliably. You don't need to make the Hard course your money-making method just because it exists. 1. Use the same overhead camera orientation each attempt. 2. Work backward from the pocket: where must the target ball travel, and which side must the cue ball hit to send it there? 3. Check the cue ball's path too. A legal path for the target means nothing if the cue clips a black ball first. 4. Make one controlled attempt. If the direction was right but the ball stopped short, adjust power without changing the angle. If it missed sideways, adjust aim while preserving your power reference. 5. Use a visible cue landmark to reproduce the pullback. The cue's white marking against the screen edge or cue-ball shadow can help track power. 6. Record the successful setup before moving to the next puzzle. A published Easy-course demonstration is here: https://youtube.com/watch?v=NBkCkig_isQ. Use its camera position and cue pullback as visual references rather than guessing from a text instruction like “hit it hard.” Power-reference guidance: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3111918023&l=english 7. Batting Goal: ¥5,000,000 earned through batting. Use Gold Rush or Super Gold Rush at Yoshida Batting Center. The regular batting courses award items and won't replace this money objective. Completion target: https://strategywiki.org/wiki/Yakuza_0/Completion_List Regular Gold Rush costs ¥500,000 to enter; Super Gold Rush costs ¥5 million. Get the money together first and save before practicing the expensive version. Watch Kiryu's stance. His bat moves while he's waiting, then steadies as the ball reaches the hitting window. That gives you another timing cue besides judging the ball's distance. In Super Gold Rush, the early pitch sequence is fast, fast, fast, slow, fast, slow. Don't swing early on the slow pitches just because the first three established a quicker rhythm. You can leave after a successful hit. Six successful Super Gold Rush targets give roughly ¥1 million profit, so repeating that safer stretch five times is a workable route. You don't have to force yourself through the smallest moving targets in one perfect run. Missing the ball or the target ends the attempt. Batting mechanics: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/batting-center 8. Bowling Goals: 10 strikes and ¥10,000,000 from Split Games. Use Mach Bowl in Kamurocho. The ten strikes are cumulative. They don't need to happen in one game. For strikes, work toward hitting the pocket just to either side of the head pin. Keep the starting position, power and spin consistent while learning. Change one thing at a time so you can actually tell what helped. Split Games cost ¥5 million to enter. You choose pin arrangements and must clear each selected arrangement with one throw. You have three misses available, and each arrangement can only be cleared once during that run. Start with the layouts you can clear reliably. Five cleared arrangements award a ¥1-million bonus; all ten add another ¥2-million bonus. The entry fee matters, so don't look at the prize total and assume that is all profit. Once you've found a repeatable set of arrangements, use those for earnings rather than turning every run into an attempt at the hardest split. Regular bowling strikes do not advance the Split Game money objective. Bowling: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/bowling 9. Fishing Goals: 15 freshwater species and 18 saltwater species. Junk and bags aren't required. Buy the ¥30-million Peerless Pole at Ebisu Pawn when you can afford it. Bring Quality Bait. Fish both sides of each location, because staying at one spot leaves species missing. Kamurocho Pier, left: Whitebait, Goby, Squid, Scorpionfish, Tiger Prawn, Spider Crab, Fugu, Coelacanth, Tuna. Kamurocho Pier, right: Filefish, Porcupinefish, Octopus, Flounder, Conger Eel, Sea Bream, Great White, Marlin, Oarfish. Sotenbori, north: Crucian, Koi Carp, Eel, Axolotl, Salmon, Nishiki Carp, Ghost Koi. Sotenbori, south: Sweetfish, Snakehead, Arowana, Softshell Turtle, Black Bass, Rainbow Trout, Ito. Either river bank: Crayfish. Cast in front of the fish's facing direction. Wait until the red part of the float goes underwater before hooking it, then follow the reeling prompts. Use Quality Bait when hunting Tuna, Oarfish, Ito and Ghost Koi. The Oarfish has a long, narrow shadow and can appear awkwardly far out. Reset the fishing view and bait again if it is unreachable.
