All right, we're starting with Yakuza 0. If you're going for platinum or all the achievements, there's a lot more involved than just finishing the story. I want to separate the things you can clean up later from the things you actually need to watch while you're playing. Otherwise, you can spend hours worrying about a side quest that isn't going anywhere and walk straight past a trophy that only gives you one opportunity during that playthrough.
This covers the original Yakuza 0 requirements. Director's Cut keeps the same major goals: the full Completion List, all substories, both Amon fights, Climax Battles, and a Legend clear. Its added multiplayer isn't something you need to complete for the checked PS5 platinum. It also lets you save through the menu outside restricted sequences, so use that rather than assuming the original's phone-only saving rules still apply. The order I'd use
First, finish the story on whichever difficulty you want and protect yourself against the eight chapter-specific trophies below. Keep separate saves before those sections. Don't keep overwriting your only save.
Then use Premium Adventure with your cleared-game save to finish the businesses, substories, minigames, and Completion List. Start it from your clear data, not as a fresh free-roam game. You want the progress you already made.
Complete the Climax Battles separately, then finish a new Legend playthrough. In the original, Legend does not let you carry your upgraded character over through New Game Plus. Your completion run and Legend run don't need to be the same save. Keep your completion save intact. Clear-data and Premium Adventure rules: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/new-game-and-premium-adventure
The eight story trophies to protect
- Chapter 2, Rich Taste: give the champagne-requesting homeless man Gold Champagne, bought at Don Quijote for ¥20,000.
- Chapter 3, Smooth Criminal: before Odyssey, investigate the green-jacketed man on Bishamon Bridge, green-coated woman southeast of Le Marche, and businessmen south of Odyssey. Inside, inspect all four relevant tables: three opposite you and one immediately left. It unlocks in Chapter 4.
- Chapter 5, Business Etiquette 101: choose the back four-seat table, nearest chair, order nothing, then pass the business-card QTE.
- Chapter 7, Best Served Cold?: after buying the story takoyaki, wait more than fifteen minutes before returning.
- Chapter 10, It Takes Two: use ally-assisted Heat Actions to kill three enemies while Oda or Tachibana holds them.
- Chapter 12, They Won't Mind: break both concealed safes on the second floor before taking the stairs toward the boss.
- Chapter 13, Big Hair in the Crosshairs: shoot the afro-haired enemy during the highway sequence.
- Chapter 15, Hitting the Bottle: deliberately fail Reina's bottle-attack QTE.
Chapter-by-chapter safeguards: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/pc/241144-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/notes-on-missable-trophies
Those are story-event trophies. They are not eight permanently missable substories. Premium Adventure lets you return to unfinished substories, but it doesn't replay those story scenes for you.
Story progression
These come from progressing normally: Nostalgic for the 80s; New Allies, New Foes (Chapter 2); A Matter of Life or Death (4); Time to Say Goodbye (6); When It All Goes Wrong (8); The Big Reveal (10); A Familiar Name (12); Painful Reunion (14); Lamb in the Lion's Den (16); and Awakened and Unleashed (finale). Stuff of Legend is the separate Legend clear. Trophy requirements: https://exophase.com/game/yakuza-0-ps4/trophies/
Kiryu's real estate and Majima's cabaret
Kiryu: President Kiryu starts Real Estate Royale. The Promised Land requires total control of one district. The Glamorous Life requires Disco City Boy, the most expensive property. We Built This City means finishing the business storyline. For Generosity of Strangers, find one of the businessmen who bows to Kiryu after he controls an area, then stand still nearby until Kiryu takes out a cigarette and the man lights it.
Majima: A Host of Hostesses starts Cabaret Club Czar. Talk of the Town needs more than 1,000 fans in one area. You're Still Number One means taking a platinum hostess to level 40. Walking On Sunshine requires completing the cabaret storyline.
Both businesses also matter for combat and completion. Finish them rather than treating these as isolated trophy chores. Business and miscellaneous trophy details: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/trophies-achievements
Substories and Amon
Tell Me a Story is ten substories; Hero of the Story is forty; Story of My Life is all of them. Amon Defeated requires both bosses, not whichever one you fight first. So Amon is Kiryu's fight and Jo Amon is Majima's. Clear each character's other substories and reach the finale unlock point to open these last challenges.
Prepare before accepting the invitation: upgrades, defensive equipment, healing supplies, and a separate save. So's later phase has invincibility pickups. If he gets one, wait it out instead of wasting your attacks. Grab them yourself when you can. Don't assume beating the main story means you're ready for these fights. Combat and training
A Wise Investment needs ten purchased abilities. Training in Style needs a lesson from every master: Bacchus, Kamoji, Miss Tatsu, Komeki, Fei Hu, and Areshi. Master of Style concerns all upgrades in the six regular styles, not endlessly buying levels in the two secret styles.
Mr. Shakedown Takedown is your first victory against him. Whip It Good needs five combat bonuses against one enemy; use varied actions, Heat moves, and a clean finish rather than expecting five ordinary hits to count. Combat requirements: https://exophase.com/game/yakuza-0-director-s-cut-psn/trophies/ Play-bonus explanation: https://trophy-and-achievements.fandom.com/wiki/Whip_It_Good
Prizefighter requires thirty opponents defeated in Endless Rout. This isn't the same as thirty ordinary tournament wins. Build your Coliseum rank to unlock the mode, then make the required run. Standard Coliseum completion also tracks fifty tournament wins and twenty-five different opponents. Heal before entering: normal tournaments restrict healing items and equipment, and victory doesn't fully heal you afterward. Coliseum rules: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/coliseum
Money, searches, and quick trophies
High Roller is ¥1 billion spent. Make It Rain introduces throwing money; Worked Hard for the Money requires ¥5 million scattered. Those are trophy milestones, not the final Completion List targets.
Who Ya Gonna Call? needs one telephone card. ...I Did It for the Trophy / Achievement needs one video. Lucky Star needs a top-grade Dream Machine reward. Keep using the machines while doing other tasks rather than leaving every purchase until the end.
Welcome to the Jungle needs the highest equipment-search result. Eye of the Dragon and Tiger needs every crafting part, not every crafted weapon. Check the missing material itself before spending more money on searches. Some parts can simply be purchased, while specific agents guarantee others. For example, Iron is sold at Ebisu Pawn; Screws and Springs at Don Quijote; the Information Dealer guarantees Steel. Use guaranteed results where possible. Parts sources: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/parts
Minigames
What a Player requires trying every minigame. Call Me requires a successful telephone-club date. Say You Wanna Dance needs every disco song completed on any difficulty. The Dragon of Pocket Circuit needs every race won. None of that means the entire minigame Completion List is finished. Check its separate scores, money targets, and difficulty requirements before leaving an activity. Achievement checklist: https://exophase.com/game/yakuza-0-director-s-cut-psn/trophies/
Cat Scratch Fever is ten complete three-round JCC tournament victories. Ten individual rounds won't do it. The separate completion requirement is ¥100 million won. Check the fighter-condition ticker, compare attack ratings, and expect randomness. There isn't a guaranteed button-mashing trick that turns every tie into a win. I wouldn't leave all ten tournaments until the last thing, because that turns an already repetitive task into one long sitting. JCC rules and requirements: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/catfights
The Completion List
Half the Battle is the halfway milestone. Perfectionist is 100%. You need the second one.
Work through Adventure, Battle, Businesses, Substories, and Minigames. Some counters combine Kiryu's and Majima's progress; others are character-specific. Check after switching characters instead of assuming everything carries across.
Some easy-to-underestimate final targets: forty-five telephone cards per character; thirty different videos; ¥50 billion earned; ¥10 billion spent; ¥10 million scattered; one hundred different weapons; seventy different gear items; forty different Kiryu Heat Actions; and thirty different Majima Heat Actions. Keep using different styles while you're playing so you aren't left grinding every style's kill count afterward. Full completion metrics: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/completion-metrics
Use the checklist, not your memory. Eating at a restaurant once doesn't clear its menu, and trying a minigame once doesn't clear its score requirements. I would alternate the longer grinds with things I enjoy instead of burning out on one category.
Climax Battles
Just Beat It requires all of them. These are main-menu challenges using specified versions of Kiryu or Majima, not your overpowered completion-save characters. Read each restriction before starting. A weapon-only task may reject weapon Heat Actions; a survival task may punish dealing damage; another task may lock your style. The point is to solve the specific challenge, not fight every one the same way. Full access comes with story completion. Climax Battle conditions and solutions: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps4/816306-yakuza-0/faqs/74451/climax-battles
Before calling it finished: all eight story trophies, every substory and both Amons, both business storylines, combat and miscellaneous trophies, the complete minigame requirements, every crafting part, all Climax Battles, 100% Completion List, and the Legend clear. On PlayStation, that earns Where It All Began. That's the platinum.
